In this video I share with you 3 of the groundbaits which I've been using and plan to use through winter but I also take time out to explain more importantly why I choose to use them. I hope there's something in this video which will help you enjoy your fishing more this winter and hopefully catch more fish!
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for sharing this. This is really useful and great advice. I love your line "we're here to catch the fish not feed them". Very true!
Thanks for watching Jon mate!
Dark ground bait for winter yes but whey is liquidised bread such a good bait in winter when this is such a bright bait
Thanks for the video fishing with groundbaits in winter can be confusing what to use and not to use.Would be good if mfrs put it on the packaging. So fishmeal based baits can be used in colder water
Excellent video as usual, Jamie. Loads to think about and thanks for passing your knowledge on. 😊
Thanks Stephen mate!
When I was a kid fishing in the 80s, I would always use bright red groundbait and always caught fish, roach, perch, skimmers, tench, crucians all seemed to like it. Don't think its that popular now, I'll have to try it again in the summer and see if it still works.
Oh yes Geff I remember the red groundbaits from when I was a kid but I think they just went out of fashion didn't they! Def worth a try :)
I can remember using Sensas Red Magic to help catch Skimmers, Tench and Roach. Interestingly, the hookbaits would be red, white, bronze maggots and sweetcorn, which would also be considered a bright colour.
Pinkies, Squatts, breadpunch hookbaits would also be considered bright colours too.
I've been using a special red groundbait all last season adding prawns, chop worm,a few maggots and some liquid worm extract had some awesome fishing loads of perch the fish I've been targeting for a year or so get on the red groundbait 👌
Nice video Jamie 👍👍👍
Thanks Tom mate! ;)
Hay Jamie what type of winter boots do you wear and are they warm? I always have cold feet and have tried many boots, none of them keep my feet warm. Greetings Frank
Hi Frank, now it's gone really cold I'm wearing the new Matrix EVA boots mate incredibly warm here's the link www.fishmatrix.co.uk/home/product/matrix-thermal-eva-boots?c=new-products :)
Thx Jamie 👍
Been using thatchers green mixed with black roach and crushed hemp -been catching some quality roach- thanks for the tips and tight lines mate
Thanks for that Mark and no problem mate!
What do you think about the use of fishmeal on shipping channels instead of commercials in winter aimed at fishing for roach and the occasional bream?
Thank you on behalf of a regular Dutch viewer
Winter groundbait... Bait tech krill n tuna mixed with halibut groundbait
Ooooo I bet that's a smelly mix isn't it Steven!
Nice one Jamie
Thanks Chris!
Nice one
Thanks Paul!
Any advice for fishing Langold over winter?
Will be going there a bit This winter with the kids hoping for a few decent silvers 🙂
Oh nice! It's fishing hard at the moment mate just fish with small hooks, light hooklengths and don't feed much. You can catch roach on most pegs I think but the bigger skimmers and bream aren't really feeding at the moment.
@@CatchFishingChannel yeah we went on Saturday and it seemed hard going all over the lake, one chap had a decent pike but aside from that the kids had a few tiddly bleak.
Was only using mini cage feeders with supercrush expander mixed with a dash of thatchers green.
The youngest won the day though, she caught an 80 gram pike lure 😂
