It’s amazing to look up on a starry clear night, but even a 10x45 pair of decent binoculars is a huge step up from the naked eye- with the general purpose bins, you can see the moons of Jupiter like tiny diamonds, and get an inkling of the vast depth of space when a blurry faint patch becomes the mass of stars of the Pleiades

I picked up cheap one second hand nd purchased a decent eyepiece for aa couple of hundred dollars. Lenses with very wide field of views are now affordable and make viewing much easier. Astronomy can be very expensive but it doesn't have to be. I find it so amazing to look at Jupiter and it's moons live in real time. Seeing pictures form NASA may be extremely awesome but seeing it live even though small and with less detail it is far more amazing to me to. I see the cosmos and see the beauty of Gods creation and the wonder o f it and the universe now seems small in comparison to God.

    “Why is a fool atheist?”
“A fool says in his heart: There is no God” (Psa 14:1), but he doesn’t say what his motivation is for this statement.
First of all, we have to eliminate the idea that there is no reason for his statement. The expression “to say in heart” in Hebrew means not only “to think” but also “to deliberate or to reflect”. The statement of the fool wasn’t a mindless slogan but the fruit of reflection. Taking this into consideration, we propose at least three ways to find out the reasons for such strong rejection of God.
First, a fool is an atheist because of his unpunished crime. A fool saw people committing several crimes without being punished. If God existed, he would not allow evil to exist. Similar logic can be found in Psalm 10, when the Psalmist is asking God:
Why do the wicked renounce God, and say in their hearts, "You will not call us to account"? (Psa 10:13).
Second, a fool is atheist because of the corruption of the fools. The fools see that God doesn’t punish them for their sins, so they continue to walk on the way of evil. After the statement “there is no God”, the Psalmists speaks about the description of their conduct:
“They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is no one who does good. (Psa 14:1)”.
Both the first and the second explanation suit the Targum of Psalms that paraphrases our passage: “There is no rule of God on the earth".
Third, a fool is atheist because of wrong theology. Why does the fool reject God? Because he has the wrong idea about God. The theology preceded the atheism. What kind of theology is atheism? The fool saw the incompatibility of the notion of God and reality. If he didn’t know God as the Supreme Judge, he would not reject him on grounds that God does not punish the evil. If he didn’t know that God takes care of the poor, he would not reject him seeing the poor devoured by the enemies. (Psa 14:4). It’s really interesting that the fool sees the incompatibility of the notion of God and reality and doesn’t reject the way of thinking about God. Instead, the fool prefers to reject God than to change his theology.
So, “Why is a fool atheist?”
Because in the test of theology, he prefers to reject the God he knows, than to search for the unknown God.
Atheists foolishly reject the notion that a Designer should preclude a design.
Have you ever researched to find out as to what have been some of the most complex or complicated machines or devices that man has ever built to date.
One of these complex machines was the Airbus A380. In order to build just ONE Airbus A380 this single aircraft requires about 4 million parts, with .5 million part numbers produced by 1500 companies from 30 countries around the world.
There is also the large Hadron Collider. It is the most expensive and complex machine ever built. The LHC was built in collaboration with over 10,000 scientists and engineers from over 100 countries, as well as hundreds of universities & laboratories. The LHC is the largest single machine in the world which lies in a tunnel 27 kilometres (17mi) in circumference, as deep as 175 metres (574ft) beneath the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva, Switzerland.
The majority of people, myself included, probably do not know or understand the precise complexities or the effort of the intelligent people and minds that had to work together in order to design & build such massive & complex machinery.
The Airbus A380 was intelligently & deliberately designed by intelligent minds & each of the 4 million parts that make that aircraft have a specific purpose in the make-up & design of that plane.
The LHC too - as complex as it is, was intelligently & deliberately designed through the cooperation of over 10,000 intelligent minds who come from over 100 countries.
Now - if we were to use the same thought process or the same thought pattern that the atheist uses in relation to creation, it would be very easy to understand why atheism is extremely foolish and why atheists are regarded as being fools by God. Somehow, the atheist cannot appreciate the complexity but yet harmonious aspects of nature or the universe and come to the conclusion that there is a vastly superior Being behind creation. They cannot appreciate just the complexity and wonders of the human body but yet foolishly come to a poor conclusion that the human body and human existence as a result is just one big accident.
Albert Einstein was quoted as saying “The human mind, no matter how highly trained, cannot grasp the universe. We are in a position of the little child, entering a huge library whose walls are covered to the ceiling with books in many different tongues. The child knows that someone must have written these books. It does not know who or how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written. The child notes a definite plan in the arrangement of the books, mysterious order, which it does not comprehend, but only dimly suspects. That it seems to me, is the attitude of the human mind, even the greatest and most cultured, toward God. We see a universe marvelously arranged, obeying certain laws but we understand the laws only dimly"

Genesis 1:1-5 NKJV - In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.

“35-Million-Year-Old” Mayfly Looks Astonishingly Like a Mayfly"
Breaking news: ancient (“35-million-year-old”) mayflies looked extremely similar to modern-day mayflies!
Okay, that might not seem like very big news. From a biblical standpoint, of course mayflies look like mayflies (and they aren’t 35 million years old anyway!). But for those who interpret the evidence with the evolutionary worldview, we have to ask: why are so many of the creatures scientists find preserved in amber virtually identical to their modern-day counterparts? (Consider, for example, mosquitoes filled with blood that look identical to modern mosquitos, tardigrades that remained tardigrades, plant mites that look like plant mites, and frogs that look like frogs.)

    Hey All,
Facts are necessary in life, but the truth brings life. Although the interest in how everything began is important and fun to know, it's not the biggest priority in life. The truth is. And when you know it, it sets you free. Christ Jesus is the truth. It's about you choosing to believe Him as the Messiah and Son of God, who was also God in the flesh. Knowing about the origins of our existence is absolutely pertinent, but do you know Jesus and how much He loves you and desire you to know Him? He wants you free from worry, anxiety, fear, depression, offence, and many life draining things, BUT you must believe in Him eventhough you can't see or feel Him. It's a leap of faith! Lastly, as someone once told me, you will always have another question after another. So have faith in the truth of Jesus.

Yes, Satan, the devil, is real. The word “Satan” comes from Hebrew which literally means “adversary.” The first mention of the term Satan is found in the book of Job 1-2 (adversary of Job), which is one of the oldest books in the Bible. Satan is also found in Zechariah 3:1-2 (accusing Joshua the High Priest) and 1 Chron. 21:1 (moving David to number Israel). Satan is the leader of the evil forces. He is known as Lucifer, which is the name of the fallen Angel who opposes God and mankind. He is also known as Beelzubul, the evil one, and the devil. So, yes, the devil is real.
Most of the information about Satan comes from the New Testament where he is also known as the devil (Greek, diabolos). Satan seeks to undo the work of God (Mark 4:15) and cause evil (John 13:2, 27). He is the father of lies (John 8:44) and the deceiver (Revelation 12:9). He can disguise himself as an angel of light (2 Cor.11:14), use various schemes to deceive people (2 Cor. 2:11), tempt (1 Cor. 7:5), misquote Scripture to induce people to sin (Matt. 4:6), can make people sick (Luke 13:16), take away the good seed of God’s word (Mark 4:15), and hinder missionary work (1 Thess. 2:18). However, Satan, along with all the demonic forces, has been judged (John 16:11) and faces a future judgment where he will be cast into hell (Matt. 25:41; Rev. 20:10).

    • @RobertA-oi6hw
      @RobertA-oi6hw 2 года назад

@All About Britain is it? Perhaps popular opinion is not always correct, Brit.
      Examples:
      "1. Political correctness
      2. Framing effects
      3. Innumeracy
      4. Budget constraints
      5. Fragility
I’ll take them in order, starting with two obvious points (for completeness):
      1. People like to look good. They are prone to answer questions from pollsters in ways that make them look good. There’s the famous “Bradley effect” where California voters were reluctant to tell pollsters that they did not intend to vote for the African-American candidate. I wonder if that wasn’t also a part of Trump’s surprise win?
      2. Poll results depend on the way a question is worded. Consider a poll question that asked, “If you found out that a candidate was pro-abortion, would you be more likely to vote for them?” How about if the wording were changed from anti-abortion to pro-choice? Which question will get more “yes” responses? Admittedly, those aren’t exactly the same poll question, but my point is that survey questions are often worded in loaded ways, and that this affects the results.
I believe the next three are bit less obvious:
      3. I recall an interesting set of polls back around 1990. People were asked what rate of increase in Medicare spending was appropriate, starting with 0% to 2%, then 2% to 4%, all the way up to 10% or more. Only about 2% of respondents favored more than a 10% increase. At the time, President Bush was getting a lot of negative press for his Medicare “cuts.” I don’t recall the exact numbers, but I seem to recall that Bush proposed “cutting” the increase from roughly 11% to 9%. In another poll, people were asked if they favored Bush’s Medicare cuts, and about 2/3 disapproved. And yet only about 2% actually favored spending more than Bush, when confronted with actual numbers. Do you see the problem? The same problem applies to polls regarding higher taxes on the rich, versus questions about the appropriate top tax rate. People might say they favor higher taxes on the rich, but then advocate a 30% top rate (lower than today), when asked.
Suppose you had three public opinion polls. The first asks whether military spending should be above or below $700 million. The second asks whether it should be above or below $700 billion, while the third asks if it should be above or below $700 trillion. My hunch is that the results of all three polls would be quite similar. I doubt that most people have even a clue as to the current level of military spending (close to $700 billion.) Readers of this blog probably know, but you are above average in knowledge of public affairs.
So what do people “really believe”? There is no “really believe”. It’s a nearly meaningless concept. The only thing real is the lever they pull in the voting booth.
      4. Democratic pundits often like to point to polls showing that “the public agrees with them”. Thus if you ask people if they want all sorts of free goodies like health care, day care, free college education, great infrastructure, etc., they tend to say yes. Dems often fail to mention that the public is less enthusiastic about the sorts of tax increases that would be required to pay for euro-style benefit programs. Recall the recent riots in France, partly motivated by a higher gas tax.
To be meaningful, you’d have to sit Topeka voters down in a room with the Kansas state budget and tax revenues shown in a pie chart, tell them that the state constitution requires a balanced budget, and then ask them how much taxes they want to pay and where it should be spent. That’s what politicians actually do, but that’s not a question asked by pollsters.
      5. Rather than being a stable parameter, public opinion is very fragile. Polls might show that most people believe X, but as soon as the issue rises to prominence and more information comes out, their views might shift radically. I often talk to people about the importance of allowing a market for kidneys. The first reaction is often negative, as people wonder if this approach would be biased against the poor. Some even fear the theft of kidneys from unwilling donors. It only takes me two minutes to convince them otherwise. The theft of kidneys occurs when there is a black market created by shortages. A market would actually help the poor because it would be cheaper for the US government to pay for kidney transplants for the poor than to continue supporting those with kidney disease under Medicaid. We’d save lives and money. Once you simply point out the facts, public opinion shifts quickly.

    • @RobertA-oi6hw
      @RobertA-oi6hw 2 года назад

@All About Britain as far as what we believe and why, Christian doctrine isn't reliant on public opinion. It is reliant on scripture. Whether you believe it or not is up to you but we believe that it is God's word.

      @RobertA-oi6hw 2 года назад

@Richard Fox besides the fact that God proves his word directly to us, his believers? Because that is crucial. God proves to us every day his word is true in our lives.
      Beyond that.....
The question of which (if any) religious text is the true word of God is of utmost importance. the first question we must ask is: how would we know if God communicated in the first place? Well, God would have to communicate in a manner that people could understand, but that also means that people could make up their own messages and simply claim that they came from God. So, it seems reasonable to think that if God wanted to authenticate His communication He would have to verify it in a manner that could not be duplicated by mere humans - in other words, by miracles. This narrows the field considerably.
Beyond the evidence for the Bible’s correctness (manuscript evidence) and its historicity (archeological evidence), the most important evidence is that of its inspiration. The real determination of the Bible’s claim to absolute inspired truth is in its supernatural evidence, including prophecy. God used prophets to speak and write down His Word and God uses miracles like fulfilled prophecy to authenticate His messengers. For example, in Genesis 12:7, God promises that the land of Israel was to be for Abraham and his descendants. In 1948 Israel was returned back to the Jewish people for the second time in history. This may not seem so astonishing until you realize that no nation in the history of the world has been scattered from its homeland and returned! Israel has done it twice. The book of Daniel predicts with accuracy the coming of the four great kingdoms from Babylon, to Medo-Persia, to Greece, to Rome centuries before some of those kingdoms came on the scene with details concerning how they would rule and be broken. This includes the reigns of Alexander the Great and Antiochus Epiphanies.

    • @RobertA-oi6hw
      @RobertA-oi6hw 2 года назад

@Richard Fox In Ezekiel 26 we can see in astonishing detail how the city of Tyre was to be destroyed, how it would be torn down, and how its debris would be thrown into the sea. When Alexander the Great marched on that area, he encountered a group of people holed up in a tower on an island off the coast near there. He could not cross the sea, so he could not fight those in the tower. Rather than wait them out, the proud conqueror had his army throw stones into the sea to build a land bridge to the tower. It worked. His army crossed the sea and overthrew the occupants of the stronghold. But where did he get so much stone? The rocks that were used for the land bridge were the leftover rubble from the city of Tyre . . . its stones cast into the sea!
There are so many prophecies concerning Christ (over 270!) that it would take more than a few screens worth of space to list them all. Further, Jesus would have had no control over many of them such as His birthplace or time of birth. Second, the odds of one man accidentally fulfilling even 16 of these are 1 in 10^45. How many is that? For comparison, there are less than 10^82 atoms in the entire universe! And Jesus, who affirmed the Bible as the Word of God, proved His reliability and deity by His resurrection (an historical fact not easily ignored)

First, the universe was not created through evolution, evolution is cumulative change of populations of organisms over time, decent of modification, it applies to biological processes, not cosmology, "geological evolution" is not a thing, the term is "accretion of earth", it is not evolutionary theorem, "cosmological evolution" is also wrong, the term is "cosmic expansion", naturalism is a philosophy, in which all processes that are observed are part of the natural world, Atheism is when a person or persons do not believe in a god or gods, the two are not connected, the person in this video is presenting a fallacy, he assumes there must be a god, therefore anything that sheds doubt on that claim is false, science is non biased, it is a methodology in which we observe, test and validate the natural world, religions don't do that, they are supernatural and cannot be tested, validated or confirmed, 98% of all scientists confirm the big bang theory, 99% confirm evolution, creationist "scientists" are biased and thus don't "believe", which is fine because scientific fact does not need belief, the god that is presented here is the same as the one in the Quran, Judaism, Israel and all Abrahamic religions, its called Yahweh, the term bible means "collection", which is exactly what it is, a collection of stories, poems and proverbs of time gone by, no truth to be found there, science is a method, it is "how" we discover things, there is no separation, "evolutionist" isn't a word, its a derogatory slang term used by creationists, the supporting theory around the moon's origin is that the young Earth collided with another planet, dubbed Theia, evidence of the Earth's tilt shows that the theory has validation, the Earth increased its overall size from early forming, we have evidence to support this theory too, Saturn's moons have salty oceans of liquid water and Europa's inner mantle is made up of liquid water, the Earth isn't the only place in the solar system, the Earth's ocean's wouldn't dry up or freeze entirely, they would coalesce underground, which is why water is found on other planets, the "Orion Nebula" is literally a group of stars forming 20 lightyears away, we have observed it and are still observing it, as for the big bang or cosmic expansion, we know this happened, "cosmic microwave background radiation" was discovered in the mid 1960's, it is the afterglow of the "big bang", we can measure that space is expanding, moving away from us, meaning that it must've come from a single point before expanding, like a balloon filling with gas, galaxy arms are not caused directly by gravity but from "density waves", that is the clusters of stars that are close to the core of the galaxy are pushing on the arms causing them to stretch out, the rest of this video is hate mongering on Atheists, not understanding what atheism is and then fear mongering his audience to "believe", even though he has blurted out the most ridiculous theist nonsense I've heard in a long time, heck a five minute google search completely disproved all of his points, the rest is just filler!

Hence why we have The Bible, his word, so that we may come to fellowship with God who created the heavens and the earth having revealed himself through it. Everything at its core is word, logos, information. And just as His spoken word brought everything into existence, may His Word also bring you forth from darkness into light unto eternal life and only words of life can do that. The Word created, The Word died and rose again and is now seated at the right hand of God, and the Word gives you eternal life and sustains you.
      That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

Besides, what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Since you cannot explain how you came from stardust, it is not much of an explanation any way. Also, being able to explain something is not the test of veracity of anything. If your mind is a chance product of purposeless, directionless, and mindless processes, why would you trust it? It is rather illogical to say that the universe is most certainly here, but it is a product of random processes of uncertainties.

the problem with the latter half of your question is that God exists outside of space and even TIME itself, having created those things as well. this is alluded to in Gen 1:1 "In the beginning" (of what, exactly?) and in vs. 1:5 it was clarified with "Evening came and then morning: the first day." if there was a first day, and it is clear that God created it as He did everything else, then He did so from outside of it - time itself. you could interpret that to mean He only created the illustration of the passage of time by creating light, and separating it from darkness, but these are vss. 3 and 4 respectively, so if that were true vs. 5 would be a redundancy. also, John 1:3 states that all things were created through Him, and even scientists consider time a thing, and have even observed that it is directly proportional to gravity. it is interesting that even if one followed the "big bang" you might have to conclude that time didn't spring into existence until the big bang, at which point gravity was near infinite and expanded from there, so time didn't *move* forward at all until the point of the big bang, hence it didn't exist previously, and was *created* with the bang. I don't want to get too far off topic with that, I certainly don't believe big bang, but there is a point to this I will mention later. so I realize that these verses are subject to interpretation, but a web search shows a number of other references, for example Jude 25 contains "...before all time..." so it would appear that even in Jude's day they believed there was a point (for lack of a better word) that existed before time began.
so I'd say the answer to your question is the former - He spoke and it was, as it is written. I truly don't believe this in any way robs us of seeing His handiwork or ingenuity. it is clear there are mechanisms in place that hold and drive all of creation from the laws of physics to our DNA. so it stands to reason that a Supreme Being that created everything, which has to mean that it was from literal nothing, would need to exist outside of time (you would have to acknowledge this even if you believed He created everything through the big bang, as I mentioned with the relationship between time and gravity earlier.) so it follows logically (to me at least, maybe I'm flawed in my thinking) that such a Being would NOT actually need that time He just created in order to assemble all of these other created things together.
now the problem with what I believe, is why did God do this over 6 days when He didn't need that time? that is a bit more complex and I'm not sure I understand it so I'll digress on that point, except to say two things: 1. that He did it in a certain order and paused, declaring along the way that what was just created was "good" and I think that is all significant. 2. resting on the 7th day is our first demonstration of the sabbath (because why would such a Being need to rest, who created the very time He would need to do so?), and I've both read and heard that this ultimately points to Christ as our sabbath, but that's a big topic I don't want to get into.
      hope that helps.

Allow me a bit of sarcasm to make my point: How can you produce a transistor of a few nano-meters in size? How could anybody even do that? That is just impossible! You might say that, well, the transistor is actually sitting on a chip inside your phone that you are holding in your hand and you can use your phone, ergo the transistor must exists. But do you really know? What do you REALLY know? Those scales are magic for anybody outside of those engineering processes... How can we manufacture something that is a billionth of a meter?

You see, my point is: Just questioning the methods does not really do anything or get you closer to the truth or understanding. Trying to understand the methods that those "who claim to know" apply will get one much further. And it can allow for real criticism of the methods that are worth criticising... @@samuelrodriguez9199 Well, to be fair, if you’re going to make a video that supposedly exposes the Big Bang Theory, it’d be nice to _actually_ address _all_ of the evidence of the Big Bang Theory and expose it. Explain why its incorrect or the conclusions drawn from the data are lacking, and actually address the damn data while doing so. He needs to form coherent, relevant, alternate explanations for all of that evidence, or why that evidence is better suited to the theory he is producing to replace the BBT. I guarantee you it’ll take far longer than a 24 minute video.
He didn’t do any of that. Absolutely nothing in this exposes or even remotely threatens the BBT. Most of it was done from viewpoint of trying to frame it as an Evolutionary view with the bias of “naturalism,” when its primarily Cosmology, Physics and Astronomy. I suspect that the reason for that is that Dr. Mortenson isn’t qualified to speak on it.
      Which brings us to…
The other very big problem that I’ve seen no one really address is that Dr. Mortenson has no background whatsoever in physics, cosmology, quantum mechanics, astrophysics, or any field related to _any_ of the data that is present in the BBT. His degree is in Historical Geology. Would you want a foot doctor advising you for heart surgery? He has no qualifications to “expose” anything at all related to the BBT. And to anyone with a degree of knowledge in these fields, his attempts at “exposing” the Big Bang was lackluster nonsense that didn’t actually address the BBT at all.
One of the titles of the chapters was, “What is the origin of the solar system according to evolution?” Another was, “What is the origin of stars and galaxies according to evolution?” “What is the origin of the Universe according to evolution?” Evolution is a biological theory. It has absolutely nothing at all to do with the formation of the solar system, the stars and galaxies, or the Universe. You’re literally being programmed by these people. It’s so blatantly obvious.
It is this kind of blatant dishonesty that AiG is known for by those “outside the flock.” It also makes for sad commentary that the viewers of the video didn’t pick up on some of the nonsense that even someone without knowledge of science should be able to spot. At the very least, notice that the moron telling these things is in no way qualified to talk on them.
That very obvious fact that no one seems to notice tells me a great deal about the intelligence and degree of scrutiny and integrity of the majority here who blindly accept what someone is saying because its something you want to hear. At worst, you should be suspect. But no, there is applause and congratulations on this drivel by an unqualified shill because none of you have any knowledge in the related fields to know if he’s _actually_ telling you the Truth® or just feeding you science-sounding jargon to keep you in the flock, and you probably wouldn’t care anyway because you don’t want to lose your religion to anything as pedestrian as evidence against your understanding of it.

For he says, “ ‘The Lord said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet.” ’ If then David calls him ‘Lord,’ how can he be his son?” No one could say a word in reply, and from that day on no one dared to ask him any more questions.”
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭41‬-‭46‬ ‭NIV‬‬
Here, Jesus is claiming to be God, the same God as the God in the Bible
      Luke 24 states,
“‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ”
      ‭‭Luke‬ ‭24‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬
Here, Jesus is saying that he’s going to be crucified and then conquer death and come back to life 3 days later, only God can conquer death
      Acts 5 states,
“The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead-whom you killed by hanging him on a cross. God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins. We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.””
      ‭‭Acts‬ ‭5‬:‭30‬-‭32‬ ‭NIV‬‬
Jesus claimed to be God (the God of the Bible ) and then proved that he was who he said he was by conquering death and rising from the dead 3 days after he was crucified
By coming to earth and doing this he confirmed that God is real and he is the God of the Bible.
thus making the Bible God’s word and proving it to be true.
And we know that these events actually happened because there were many eyewitnesses to them, that recorded what happened in historical documents and eyewitness accounts.
Carefully READ everything I just wrote before you decided to say something
Hopefully this answers your question on how we know the Bible is God’s word.

Psalm 14:1 says that denying God’s existence is commonly based on a desire to lead a wicked life.
In the Greek version of the Old Testament, the word rendered “fool” is aphron, literally, “mindless.” It represents “the lack of common sense perception of the reality of things natural and spiritual."
According to Psalm 14 the “fool” denies the existence of God; elsewhere in the same book the term describes one who insults his or her Creator continually (74:22). The prophet Isaiah employed the word of the individual who stands in contrast to a noble-minded person (32:5).
We can find in the Bible a lot of expressions that represent hostility towards God but the expression “there is no God” occurs only twice.
To argue that an incredibly complex and obviously designed universe and everything within it comes from naturalistic processes reveals a truly “senseless heart” (Rom. 1:21).
At its root, atheism not an intellectual problem as is commonly thought in our day. Rather, the folly of atheism is rooted in a determined trajectory of autonomy that seeks to live life on our own terms and to resist the self-revelation of God’s presence and character in the world.
Belief in a divine Being is accompanied by a sense of accountability to that Being. So, to escape the condemnation of conscience, which itself was created by God, some simply deny the existence of God. They tell themselves, “There is no overseer of the world. There is no Judgment Day. I can live as I please.” The moral pull of the conscience is thus more easily ignored.

The real lie is the belief that "going to heaven" solves anything. One, traditional Christian theology shows that sin *_ORIGINATED_* in heaven when satan rebelled against god. Given this precedent in plain sight, what keeps outbreaks of sin in heaven from happening again? Specifically, what keeps a redeemed Christian from going to heaven and then rebelling against god?
And two, souls *_CANNOT POSSIBLY_* be "immortal," because that belief conflicts with god's omnipotence. Does god have the power to destroy souls?

If we can do so, then it will be no problem to live for God in our upgraded bodies and conditions. The angels also have been purged, with a third of them rebelling. Wow, really, he comes up with this "Earth has the perfect distance" nonsense? How can people really think like that? If the sun was the only star in the entire universe and the earth would be the only planet, then we could use that argument. But we have several planets in our solar system - that increases the probabilty that one of them has the correct distance for liquid water. But more imporant: There are billions of stars in our universe. So probably billions of planets. So how should it be special that at least one of them has the requirments for life? The more you have, the higher are the chances. When you throw a dice once and you have a six, then you have luck and it is more special. But when you try it 100 times, then it is absolutly not special, that there will be at least one six among it.
I guess it is also has to do that people feel special because they are on this rare earth. But that is of course also nonsense. Imagine there is a lottery and all seven billion people on earth take part - and there is only one winning ticket, all others lose. And you are the winner! What do you think? "Wow, the chance was 1:7000000000 and I won! How is that possible! Amazing! Must be a sign of God!" Ehm - no. The chance, that SOMEBODY will win was 100%. So there is NOTHING special about it, that somebody wins. He just think it is special from his point of view, but not when you look at at from the outside. Which means for the earth: It is nothing special that there is a planet in the universe that supports life. You only feel special that you live on this planet, but it is not. You would just not exist on this planet, if it would not support life.

A lack of evidence of God’s existence is not the true reason atheists reject a belief in God. Their rejection is due to a desire to live free of the moral constraints God requires and to escape the guilt that accompanies the violation of those constraints.
The statement "there is no God" in reality, is not a literal denial of the existence of God (or of gods), but a description of the wicked, who live and behave as though God takes no notice of human behavior. The respective contexts of Psalms 10, 14, and 53 support this interpretation.
For since the creation of the world His [God’s] invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools (Romans 1:20-22).
Atheism is irrational. It’s not a system that satisfies the intellect. You can never be sure that there is no God. It assumes a kind of knowledge that the human mind simply does not have. David is right! Only a fool would be satisfied with the claim that there is no God.
Atheism is, in short, not so much an intellectual choice, as it is a moral choice. In a larger sense, we are all biblical fools, even though we have not publicly aligned ourselves with the atheist. We are “fools” when we live and act as if there is no God. We live as functional atheists when we fail to seek God and to live righteously. But this psalm calls us back afresh to the company of the righteous and back to the great moral framework of the universe. Only in this company will salvation and joy be finally ours. It is the resurrected Christ and the empty tomb, which alone, washes us all of our “foolishness” and sets our feet firmly with Christ in the way of the righteous.

@@sulpicius7602 It's a conclusion based not on evidence, but on the assumption that seeing is believing. It all goes back to a simple rejection of God. You've conflated _evidence_ with _proof._ A dog turd in your front yard is evidence of the presence of a dog, but it isn't proof; that alone doesn't eliminate the unlikely notion that it's evidence that it was placed there by another person. The very existence and complexity of every little thing is evidence of God; but since evidence isn't proof, you've chosen to believe the unlikely notion that intelligent design came from random chaos for the simple reason that you have predetermined to reject God.
Everything leaves evidence, and many things leave the same or similar evidence as each other. A pile of rubble is evidence that a building was demolished; it's also evidence that a building collapsed; it's also evidence that a construction crew threw all their scrap into a pile. It doesn't prove any of this; proofs are made up of multiple evidences that eliminate all other possibilities. Scientific theories require rigorous proofs, but hypotheses don't. Show me a rigorous proof for evolution and I'll show you a rigorous proof that 1 = 2.

But there are at least a dozen extra biblical sources that attest the existence of Jesus and what His followers believed about Him. There are many videos that speak about it. Plus the Bible is a collection of sources. Not one book. It is like 27 evolution books were put together in a collection, and I said ‘ but that’s not fair, it is all the same book’ . • @gooseneckwjdyoung8028
      @gooseneckwjdyoung8028 2 года назад

      @@kevinrtres
scientists have conducted many experiments in pursuit of understanding the origin of life. At least a few experiments have successfully shown that the fundamental building blocks for life can be produced when the right elements and chemicals find themselves in the right conditions. Eventually amino acids came into being, thus allowing proteins to form. While the ingredients of our earth were coalescing during it’s many formative stages, it was only a matter of time before the primordial soup with just the right ingredients would occur. Eventually that soup would get just the right dose of sunlight, perhaps even stimulated by geothermal influence or lightning strikes. Time passes, RNA is produced… Time passes, single cell organisms are born… Time passes, multicellular life is achieved… so on and so forth…
Now, if one of your responses to this is, “Most of that is speculation. Scientists still don’t actually know the answer.”
…. Or something to that effect….
      My response is this:
It seems to me, those who subscribe to the intelligent design argument, often go out of their way to misunderstand what science is trying to say to them. When scientists give a theoretical example, and say that they don’t know the answer yet, they are saying they do not know the EXACT answer. That is what scientists do, they will tell you they do not know what they do not know. In a case such as understanding life’s origin, they DO have enough knowledge to be certain they are going in the right direction.
They have enough knowledge to know that it wasn’t sky daddy doing a magic trick to make Pinocchio a real boy and then make a woman out of his rib.
I think it’s interesting to point out, by the way, that my comment was meant to point out the condescending nature of the speaker’s delivery. He’s obviously conflating vernacular to deliberately lead those Who are eager to agree with him. It’s strange to me that they don’t hear the way he is talking down to them. He clearly feels as though he occupies a higher state then those to whom he is speaking.
In response to that, your challenge is to pick one of the topics off the shelf that science hasn’t got figured out yet so you can say, ah ha!! You see you there… You nerds aren’t so smart after all!!
Well, that’s just par for the course when dealing with people of “faith.” I think religion is just fine. I think human beings are prone to fill in gaps The best they can. I just start getting tired of Christians when I run into his hardheaded and narrow minded, determination to be intellectually shortsighted. Why can’t God be challenged? Why can’t that ridiculous book be challenged? Because God said so? Isn’t he supposed to be awesome? He can’t handle a little criticism? I think almost every civilized adult knows to expect a little criticism once in a while. The sky daddy doesn’t like it when we backtalk him. He sounds like an insecure character to me. Who does that sound like? Humans!! Humans are insecure!! The reason god has the same petty character as a man is because he is a man. Man wrote that character into existence and in the process, endowed him their own elements. Think about it… we are made in gods image? Why does God need a nose or eyelashes? Does God need toenails or genitalia? Does god have that little thing that dangles in the back of your mouth?

As for Christians being hardheaded and narrow minded - you've got that exactly right - Jesus said narrow is the way and small is the gate that leads to life and few that are that find it. I am as narrow minded as one can get - and I can boast in what Jesus said.
You can criticize God all you want - it doesn't make one iota of a difference because He has already decreed that the only way into His presence is via an absolutely sinless life. Not even the smallest lie or disobedience to parents or stealing a small thing or coveting another person's possessions or lusting sexually in your heart/mind or being so angry at someone else as to hate them ( Jesus called that the same as murder ) - if you've committed any of these you have rejected God and declared yourself to be His enemy.
The only way back is by accepting that Jesus paid the penalty for your sins on the cross and that if you surrender to that then you'll be credited with the sinless life of Jesus Himself so that you'll be acceptable to God. There is no other way.
All the criticism and ranting will be of no avail - God has made a decree and one can only accept it or reject it. By default all human beings ( except Jesus Himself ) has rejected it and hence they are doomed - until they submit to GOD's way of doing things.

Perhaps in my haste, I’ve exposed myself to risk of having to stand corrected after I’ve heard more of his message. I noticed that while he’s smart enough to pretend like he’s not implying intelligent design is the likely answer. He’s essentially barfing up the same tactic that every straight and narrow drone uses to protect his faith from the threat of critical objectivity.
