I'm sad that everyone is making the connection of Bashar being palestinian rather than judging only the song. I personally think he has the best song here and I don't care about the war.
Bashar isn't Eurovision winning material like the odds made him out to be but he definitely stands among all these female, go Tiffany pop girls and would be a fine pick for Iceland in Eurovision.
*CHARLIEKEET'S ANALYSIS* -- SEMI FINAL 1 -- Sjá þig: One of my favorites from the beginning, screwed by running order and shaky vocals. Deserved to qualify still, it has such a nostalgic feel to it, I love it Ró: Definitely a grower, again running order kinda screwed it but I can understand this one nqing a bit more. Cool vibes overall and pretty catchy. Bíómynd: Really grew on me with the live performance. They give Jedward vibes and were a deserved qualifier, their energy is so infectious
Wow, finally a great analysis! Lots of agreement here. I do think Bashar's song is good enough on its own (which, given the level of this NF, doesn't mean a lot lol) to be a contender, either way. It definitely stands out a lot.
They have a rule that all songs have to be sung in Icelandic in the semifinals. In the final they can switch to English (or any language I suppose) and most artists do.
One of the worst national finals out there, not even 1 of them was singing clear. Not even 1 interesting song. My only compliments is to Hera, I remember her from 2010, she looks gorgeous even after 14 years.
I feel like the ones ranting about Bashars participation being political are the most political ones here. I've seen more of that than people who support him for his origin. It's the best song by far, btw, and I would've said that regardless of who it came from. Iceland's selection is very boring this year... His song is the only one that stands out 😅
Only other one I enjoy enough to listen multiple times is Stingum Af, I'd be happy with that as well. But Iceland won't top my list anyway. Bashar would slot in as my overall #8.
I don't see any of these songs to qualify to the Eurovision final. They are so mid and nothing special, even Bashar's song isn't that good. If any artist had this song, he wouldn't qualify in your final.
@@rf101259 and I stand by the fact that Ukraine's song was way better than Spaceman. If Spaceman had won, I'd've thought they mixed up the points. I actually still did for a hot second, De Diepte and Hold Me Closer were so much better than the British entry imo. I'm very happy Ukraine won 😂 On a more serious note - you can't disqualify an entry for being from a specific country (or region). Are you hearing yourself? That's hella f-ed up. Israel is being asked to change the lyrics. They aren't being disqualified for being Israeli. If they'd been disqualified it would've been for violating human rights. That's a whole other benchmark than "boohoo, he won because he's Palestinian!". Did you know that Tali from Luxembourg is Israeli? Do you wanna send her home too?
If you don't like any of the songs, just don't vote. I'm saying this as someone who hopes Bashar wins because he has the best song, imo. You're only hurting his image by doing this, delegitimising him. Honestly, your comment reads like you're 100% against him winning and are trying to make people angry at his participation 💀

Blankiflur deserved a place in the final
Blankflur is amazing. Perhaps too cool for Eurovision.
Sigga and Anita are my favourites
I'm sad that everyone is making the connection of Bashar being palestinian rather than judging only the song. I personally think he has the best song here and I don't care about the war.
It's easy to discard Bashar's entry for "pity points", but he's performances was one of the best of the night, and 100% final worthy.
Finally someone has a brain lmao. That’s what I’m sayyyying
final worthy maybe but never winner worthy , and if he win is only becuase he is palestinan
Nope, his song is clearly the best@@alessandronava2759

I was thinking the same thing - he was the best performance!
They all sound the same
Vaeb and Bashar are my favorites here. I'm also warming up to the "Go Tiffany!" girl, she did alright.
go tifanny!
From these short clips for me (from Croatia) it would be Blankiflur 🤷🏻♀️
Or Biomynd if his vocals improve

Okay I just saw the qualifiers and I'm rather disappointed. At least Sigga made it as a wildcard, fingers crossed...

Only Blankiflur sounds interesting. The rest is pretty much the same 😅
quite a weak selection
Iceland is very good at coming with entries in Icelandic 👍
They have a rule that all songs have to be sung in Icelandic in the semifinals. In the final they can switch to English (or any language I suppose) and most artists do.
Go Tiffany.... :)
PLEASE either Biomynd or Thjakathur af ast
SEGAAA i mean SIGGAAAA (GO TIFFANY)
Væb ftw!!!!!!
Blankiflur seems to be the only option worth it
Didn't qualify
My favourites were Blankiflur and Heidrun Anna. Of the ones remaining, I like Hera Björk the best.
Please Hera 🎉
Sigga or Hera
Still mad that bíómynd made it and not sjá þig
I was not a fan of Bashar, but his performance tonight was the best one. I wouldn't mind to see him win
Seemed to rely on a lot of backing vocal, I really couldn’t hear his voice.
sigga and anita >
Please Anita or Sigga

Go on Bashar! He is has a great package with the staging!

Quite like this NF more than the others as this barely has ballads
Bashar outsold this national selection. What a great song. Hopefully he wins and represents Iceland in Malmo. It would be the best thing ever.
Blankiflur or Bashar. The rest is absolutely forgettable and sure NQ.
Anita / Sigga >>>
Bashar is the obvious choice here. The ones which are still competing sound very dated.
Can we not vote for Bashar just because he’s Palestinian? His song is very boring
I agree
THIS
I agree
I like his song the most 😁
@@sarna_albo_zajac8194 it’s not the worst, just not good enough to go through.
Vaeb and Bashar!
Bashar sadly will win...with this boring song...hate it
lame nf
SO NOW WE LOST BLANKIFLUR BUT IF PEOPLE WOULD VOTE THE PALESTINIAN BC HE IS PALESTINIAN SIGGA WOULD QUALIFY AND BLANKIFLUR WOULD QUALIFY
If Iceland picks Bashar I think the should be DQ'd just like Israel... because the only reason they would pick him is for political reasons
His song is clearly the best.
@@Idk-qs4nr"clearly" 😂😂😂😂
Everyone knows why Ukraine won in 2022. I don't think Bashar should be DQ'd.

@@brobb00 Well it is
Bashar is the best, but also not good. Imo all of them are NQ cadidates at Eurovision.
boring ;/
I will vote for Bashar. And no I dont like his song.
Voting for him to "own the Zionists" even if you don't like his song is so dumb
@brobb00 Right, he's idiot

Blankiflūr and CeaseTone were my favourite, so idc now really about the results 🫡
