I enjoy riding on groomed slopes, don't go into park, because jumping is scary. I have too much self-preservation and scared of breaking my neck. Also back-country, which I see a lot on RUclips, seem like so much trouble. I like speed and doing nice carved turns. I am in Europe and that's what I see most people doing, even snowboards. Everybody just ride on groomed pistes and noone goes "off road". Over here I don't really see much difference between skiers and snowboarders, but maybe it's because I hangout mostly with skiers or mixed groups. I don't actually remember ever being in exclusivelly boarder group.

This is a major complaint that skiers have about snowboarders. The lack of maneuverability that snowboards have means that you need to have much higher situational awareness. It’s not fair… But it is the reality. Skiers can ski much closer to each other and direction much more easily so the likelihood of crashing is lower. If you’re on a snowboard, you need to stay further away from people to avoid hitting them.

I d like to do snowboarding, but i live far from the mountains and i started with skiing. I learned it really fast, instead of snowboarding that it's much difficult to learn. So i think that for someone that do it 1 o 2 times a year and never learned skiing or snowboarding, it's Better start with ski

While skiing, I’m not required to strap in every run.

Boarders will always have more style in the park, especially on rails. The more tech a skiier is on rails , the worse it looks with hands and legs going everywhere.

Snowboarding is for people who dont know how to ski.
FACT: Skiing is way more technical.
    Takes longer to master skis
    Snowboarding is slower

Snowboarding is cool but requires you to be ok with having limited vision on your non-dominant side as you’re going downhill. having to strap in every 20 minutes is ok, but you can really shave off transition time coming off the lift if you just ski

First of all skiing is better because there are also snowboard only resorts also it feels so nice going down the steeps on skis also the felling or powder on skis is amazing also u can’t even go that fast on a snow board but u can go up to 90+ mph on skis.

Snowboarding is harder to learn but easier to master but skiing is easier to learn harder to master so I would choose skiing since I ski

Alta is so calm with no snowboarders, and it’s the only resort with a lot of old people. And not all skiers are old, I’m young, most racers like me are young, most park guys are young

Skiing is easier to learn and it definitely isn't for old people and ski only resorts aren't necessarily a bad thing

I went to a mountain with my youth group, I snowboard and all my friends ski. Most of them are beginners but I can go on blacks. All the do is pizza down the mountain which takes zero skill, but most of the time, I was swerving around doing heel-toe. Which is significantly slower
