  • Easter Song, original words and music by Anne Herring, arranged by Bruce Greer, in Rhapsodies: 12 Concert Arrangements for the Advanced Pianist, 1987.
    Lyrics:
    Hear the bells ringing,
They're singing that we can be born again.
    Hear the bells ringing,
They're singing Christ is risen from the dead.
The angel up on the tombstone
Said He is risen, just as He said.
Quickly now, go tell his disciples
That Jesus Christ is no longer dead!
Joy to the world, He is risen, hallelujah!
    He's risen, hallelujah!
    He's risen!
    Hallelujah!
    Hallelujah!

Hi Kimberly - this is an EXCELLENT playing of this arrangement! I was ambitious many years ago when I purchased the Rhapsodies book as a church pianist in my early 20s. I played one or two of them but found the rest too difficult. Years later, I have obtained a digital piano and have pulled this out to see what I could make of it. I was searching for recordings of these arrangements. And here, in 2020, you have made AND posted one! Thank you so much. If you would like to demonstrate others in this book, I would be all ears! :) Your playing is wonderful!

Thank you! That book has many wonderful arrangements! I have posted "Near the Cross" and "Jesus Loves Me" from it too, though I skipped parts in "Jesus Loves Me" to make it a bit shorter.
