IDK if the subtitles in English are accurate but yes, Indrid is talking about a SA that happened when they were living together. Oh, also, yes, she exposed his health condition but I think is possibly because people were thinking she was the one having problems reguarding sex.
Well that and on reflection, its sorta central to the whole SA. I dont think the story can be decoupled from the ED and how everything played out
She did say she had sexual issues, then switched to blame it on him. She would have to specifically accuse him of SA; she can’t just hint at it. How could he be arrested without specifically being accused?

Honestly I didn’t understand what Ingrid was trying to say but Leandro reaction to it was so weird. She was implying a lot without giving the details. That whole situation seemed ominous.
She was probably advised by her lawyers that she shouldn’t use the words “r@pe” or “s&xual ass@ult” to avoid being considered an accusation of a crime, as that could open up different allegations/paths for a lawsuit from him against her. the same for the network and the presenters lines (although they should def have handled it more seriously) - they can’t formally charge him assuming it is all true. they should have put trigger warnings and give more support to her, though.
How is Netflix STILL getting away with putting survivors in the room with their aggressor?! They did the same during the Queer Love Ultimatum reunion and it's so irresponsible!

Probably a binding contract. Money is priority to them over mental health. Its crazy to me that they can just transition to a “happy segment” after that… at least in an American one they acknowledge it, show resources available etc. Not that anyones better

I'm choosing to vent a little here, but to be clear, it's completely understandable that you were deeply confused by the entire segment with Ingrid and her ex-partner. The show edited this segment so strangely and obtusely... and then to carry on with a standard, light-hearted reunion after that revelation, accusation, whatever you call it -- after allowing the accused person to be the last person to have the word, on an international stage -- made me feel physically ill. WTF was this??? The emotional whiplash... I've run out of words for it.
They treated it like any other drama on the show. We carried on and memory holed it until wrap up but I was clammy and off the rest of the episode

They didn't need to make the reunion this way. They didn't need to put Ingrid, or the entire audience, through this.
I can't believe that they fully realized how massively re-traumatizing something like this is to not only Ingrid, but at least a fourth of their audience... but I'm so angry. They should know. There is no excuse for making this TV drama.
@@Lilfishdroyd I guess we'll see the details eventually, but my impression is that no one knew exactly that Ingrid was going to say all that she said. They were all taken by surprise, especially because I doubt production would force her to be in the room with the guy who SAd her, and given what they did regarding the American S5 with the SA case and the other girl who was cut from the show because the guy threatened to sue in case he was shown, I don't think they would like to bring a case of SA into their show.
They should've added a trigger warning in the beginning of the reunion episode, tho.

Ingrid is talking about sexual assault. I understand that you folks aren't familiar with the way marital rape is discussed, which is a good problem to have I suppose. But I don't think it's a translation issue, because I was immediately able to recognize that she was talking about sexual assault. Please consider editing the video and info box with a content warning.

There really should have been a warning too - so many watched this and were completely caught off gaurd and triggered. Even if not triggered, her story deserved the respect to be acknowledged beyond what the hosts said after she left the stage. Such a failure on production to treat Ingrid, the audience, and the subject matter with respect.

Context: YES! Ingrid was talking about SA. Leandro has ED and would do things to her while she was asleep, because that's the only way he would "function." That's what she meant by he only cared about his ego and try to fix his problem using her body. She said she used to sleep naked and started to wear clothes, have panic attacks and eventually moved out of the room because he would take advantage of her while he was sleeping

Hi Brazilian here, and yes, Sao Paulo is the place where the big advertisement agencies are so its common to go there to work on careers that have to do with this world. Most influencers that dont live in Sao Paulo are constantly traveling there to shoot publicity stuff.
I think Maurelia and Renata just tried to save face, they now both know both Patrick and Alex are the playboys they were warned about. They should have been more sincere with their partners on LIB, instead of pretending that they are “OK” and ready. I agree that Aurelia was the only voice of reason, and since no one supported her or her suspicions, it was hard to have to prove to girls that Evandro is a liar or that men are playing women in front of her face. She was spot on!

The show was released at 7 a.m. here and it was very shocking to watch all the ab*** report. I really hope that everything is solved with justice! But after that, it was impossível to pay attention to anything else on the show.

marilia's comment wasn't abot her voice being annoying. it's because her and Patrick have a really specific accent from an area of the city of são paulo, and people were making fun of that accent because people who have that accent usually claim that they don't have an accent. kinda like people from the US tend to think they don't have an accent, that they just speak "normal". so this is what people were memeing or mocking, the fact that their accents were super specific to that class of people (who usually are, or seem to think they are, a little more on the wealthier side)

To be honest, I believe Leandro has a problem for consuming too much porn, and simple things doesn’t turn him on. Why he wants sex with her while she is asleep but not awake? The city of São Paulo respecting the differences could be compared to New York (but also LA). It is a city where people from all over Brazil and also other countries try to make it live. The accusation of Ingrid is really serious. In my opinion, she refers to sexual assault. I think that her public statement could be handled by Brazilian authorities since the show had repercussions on Brazil's news/ social media. I am also confused with the Renata/Alexandre relationship, maybe it is not a barrier language. As I miss my home country (Brazil) I watched the show. From what I got from the subtitles regarding Ingrid and Leandro:
1. She had to wear different things and even moved to the couch to run away from him.
2. He did not ask her when she was awake to work on his ED issue together but waited until she was asleep to touch her
3. She asked him multiple time not to touch her
From these 3 things one can gather that she was not referring to him masturbating but SA 'ing her. On this one I don't agree with Ashley that basically it was not her place to reveal his ED which is a health condition, that he should have been the one to reveal it on his terms and not her because this was very much tied to her story of the SA she endured from him ( at least to her understanding). It was so irresponsible for Netflix to air this without any trigger warning and for the hosts to just move on so casually. At the very least they could have even added something during editing to address this. It was so careless of them.

yes, they are! The laws concerning divorce in Brazil are not as hard as in the USA. Uusually when you marry to someone and decide to divorce you're gonna split the assets that you acquire after the marriage. That's the more usual way people get married. So after six months or one year, you just share what you built together, which is not much... It's quite sad because a lot of people get married without thinking twice, and the marriage as it should be - to create a family, partnership, and so on is not seeing as serious as it was once... Especially when Netflix pay for everything.

That makes sense leaving the marriage after a shorter time frame you only take your equal share of a life lived together. I’m in the UK and watched it yesterday, but didn’t complete the reunion show. I went back to see it today, to find out that the whole LIB series had gone! I got another device and watched it on Netflix Germany.

Worried that Kaled and Muriel sit besides each other but all other couples sit apart..are none of the aired couples still together..

I had to rewind this so many times because I was shocked that she was explaining that she was sexually assaulted. Netflix really needs to be held accountable for highlighting the sexual assault issue within relationships and not continuing the show as if nothing happened!
Not to justify anything I think that Leandro felt emasculated by Ingrid mentioning the financial issues and that the fact that he wasn’t doing what he should be as a man. He clearly wanted to take control over the situation and so he forced himself on her! Shocking that it seems like he wouldn’t move out!

Brazil has a *lot* of sexual boundary issues as a lasting legacy of what the Catholic Church did to Brazilian children down there (watch the documentary “Tony Robbins: I Am Not Your Guru” to learn more - one of the women in his seminar brings light to the country’s awful colonial history). I hope that Ingrid’s story can help bring healing to her country. And I hope more boys and men who have suffered from trauma can get help before they turn into people like Ingrid’s abuser. You have to watch Season One. It is full of drama that will explain why they showed the couple with the baby along with successful couples.
Also, my thoughts on Ingrid and Leonardo - they could’ve had this reunion be a two-part series because we needed a full hour to unpack Ingrid and Leonardo‘s drama, especially with subtitles. Lastly, I believe that Renada and her husband (I forgot his name) have a betting problem. He bet Patrick some money and he was willing to stick out this side of marriage for additional money because, remember, they get paid from the show. Renada wants a baby from him and once she gets that, she’s done.

Why was she even there? She was very respectable and growth because she didn’t even get into the meat and potatoes of the lies and where were the receipts? I feel like Morelli and Patrick were just here for a good vacation. They never were really going to make it at the distance. I feel like Patrick at the end fell in love with her, but when she realized like the party is over, "I’m done" getting money for him.
I knew something was going on with him because his face seems swollen. I know he put on a little bit of weight since the show, but I wasn’t expecting a hair transplant. The fact that he got back with his ex makes me think that Renada was right. He was just here for some quick money. and why did Vanessa have her husband out there with zippers on a jacket looking like magic Mike a hot mess OK that’s all sorry for the novel.

From what I've gathered from other comments is he has a kink where he likes to only have sex with sleeping women. Which I'm not here to kink shame and typically don't but if you can only get off with an unconscious person I think therapy is a necessity because that could very easily and terrifyingly turn into something else, imo. Anyways, I guess according to what I've heard from people who speak the language he was trying to do that. She expressed her discomfort with it and told him not to do that. He continued to do it and ignored her. Some sources have said that she would tell him to stop and he would continue anyways(not yet again but like fully disregard her saying NO.) I like the fact that every season the reunion is different. My biggest problem though was that the women talked way more than the men. Especially Renata, I had to take a break 😂. I was so confused and upset listening to your reaction to Ingrid & Leandro. It basically ended with Ashley mentioning Leandro not wanting to get married and talking about Ingrid calling out Leandro's ED and I thought, that's it, that's the worst that you took from all that? Did you guys see Ariella crying while Ingrid shared what happened to her? And did you see all the women getting close to Ingrid to hug or comfort her in some way - I've never seeing that during any LIB reunion ever have you? I don't know if it's your age/experience or you guys were just talking too much during the show. I'm not a Portuguese speaker and it was obvious to me .... Mitch was at least close to understanding it.
I dont want to make excuses but I do want to answer earnest questions. First off, we are both pretty privileged when it comes to safety in relationships. Neither of us have ever been in situations where either of us have been unsafe at home. And I recognize that one doesnt need to have that history but it does impact our perspectives and confusion. I do think that it was confusing for quite a few people (weve heard as much from many commenters), and its possible what Ingrid was saying was obfuscated by Netflix editors intentionally. Ashley definitely thought they were talking about Leandro masturbating or watching porn or cheating, and she was freaking mad when people clarified and we researched the fiasco after we released this video. One person even alleged that netflix edited out the word “rape” from the reunion. Ashley is also neurodivergent and was really thrown off by how the show just moved on like nothing had happened. I know these answers might not be what youre looking for but we were confused and thrown off during filming. Its why I pin comments and boost community words in the comment section to provide context we miss and dont understand. We both fully support Ingrid in this and Ive been deleting comments from rape apologists left and right since this video came out to make this video comment section as safe as I can

For me, It may have been both certain experiences plus my intuition, and together with seeing how upset Ingrid was, plus the reaction of Ariela and the other women, this all made it easier to see and hear what was being said plus what was not being said. Plus I have watched a lot of true crime and I like studying body language and behaviour.
I think Ashley is insightful, observant and sweet, and I really appreciate that about her, so I was just kind of thrown by her response. I was upset earlier, but I know that you are both good people and you would not want to be insensitive to others experiencing abuse. I don't know why Netflix even showed that conversation. To me it was like they were capitalizing on abuse. I doubt anyone would really expect that subject of SA to be discussed like that during the show, so that would add to the potential confusion. From the episode where they went to that religious house when her mother spoken to him about him being obligated to pay for the fixing of her house, it was to me a clear "marriage" of interest (her's and her mother's) and he was a victim of that confabulation.

Apparently he was only able to get it up when she was asleep so he raped her in her sleep night after night and she would wake up and beg him to stop. She gave an interview about it later to clarify and Netflix edited all that stuff out.

It was very hard to understand ingrid with the english subtitles because there were so many incomplete sentences. She said, "Everyday from 6 to 7am..., then mid-sentence it immediately cut to her saying, she slept naked and then with clothes, and then slept on the couch with her pillow. What happened everyday from 6 to 7am? And if something did happen why did she sleep naked AFTERWARDS and then with clothes. She didnt complete that sentence in the subtitles. Then it cut to her saying, "on my pillow" mid-sentence. What happened on her pillow? Then it cut to her saying "my daughters found me on the floor having a panic attack," and it was only then she told him "not to touch me and he didnt respect that". I dont understand, where the SA happened? She said "dont touch me" only when her daughters were there, not when they were in the bed. To me it sounded more like he was masturbating (on the pillow everyday from 6 to 7 am) and trying to fix his ED on his own by doing that and she was upset that he wasnt allowing her to help him.
