This means a lot dude. I truly mean it when I say, I don’t care to talk about or share gear with gear with you guys unless I’ve actually used it heavily in real work!
I watched this video months ago, but tonight I got really frustrated trying to find a small gear item. I remembered this video and decided to get those pouches from your affiliate link. Thanks man!
Great insight on equipment. I almost got the same utilites of stuff, but with different brands. Its always dope to see other creators solutions and product choices.
I would get CRDBags instead of the mesh bags. They are really expensive but will last forever and are so much better quality and also they stay in shape and dont crease. They also have pretty nice labeling options.
8:26 I wish the arca swiss version would have a clamp like some competitors have. Also the flexebility is limited to the low end, instead of two mounting points more in the middle. To make it fit two the middle would mean two more mini wholes in the body...So an essential update. Also I feel the screwing solution is less condor blue style than a well build big blue clamp :) Thanks for your amazing videos!!
Wondering what velcro strips you use on your computer, been looking for ones that wont leave adhesive on it if I ever take it off. Great Video too, loved all the recommendations!
Making the bags different color or having some kinda tags on them would make more sense. Now you have a dozen identical bags. Would be a paint to look for stuff, unless they're in the drawer in the same order all the time.
Be careful with those SanDisk SSDs. They had a bad run of them, and they’ll spontaneously corrupt on you. It happened to a DIT on one of my sets, and I’ve heard from a couple of editors that have experienced it as well.
I second that. Both of mine flopped on me earlier this year within a couple months of each other. And I paid for the premium “pro” models. Luckily everything was backed up already, but I won’t touch these SSD’s anymore now. I’ve been dealing with all kinds of media drives for years and it’s reasonably rare to have one fail if you take care of them and change them out periodically, but it can happen randomly to even the best options. But to have two of the same type of drives fail from a single company, almost back to back, is pretty insulting as a customer. Especially with media claiming to be “pro” and priced accordingly. The only other time I’ve had media fail like that before was a couple of Lexar SD cards from several years back. I won’t touch those anymore either.
There’s a serious lawsuit against Sandisk atm. I just had this same thing happen to me and I talked to a tech that gave me a free firmware update, which solves the issue. It’s an issue with the firmware of the original 2TB and 4TB (both regular SSD and pro) not the ones that are currently out and about. But also, the full media wipe never happened to me, even with spinning drives…
