Yoon Mirae was raised for part of her life in Texas. Her mother is Korean. Her dad is black American. She is amazing. She and her husband, Tiger JK, are called the godparents of Korean HipHop.
Also, as an aside, if you start your Korean music journey with BTS, you are starting with gold. I wish you happy listening.

BTS are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists, they started as a Hip-Hop group that morphed into the multi faceted group they are today. I’m senior Army (old enough to be these boys grandmother) I remember when Hip-Hop started , loved it until the late 80’s early 90’s, BTS brought me back into rapp. As you go down the BTS rabbit hole you will discover they are masters at what they do. They came to the US to study from US rappers, they constantly pay homage to the founders and greats of Rapp in their songs. They are known for their lyrics, their Rapp is poetry put to music. That is why Army encourages all new reactors to have the captions on for the lyrics. They talk about life, the word play and constant flow changes in a song is impeccable. RM (the leader) and Suga were underground rappers before joining BTS. The 3rd rapper JHOPE (dance leader)was a street dancer before joining the group. Neuron is his latest song. You should also listen to More by JHope you will be pleasantly surprised he put Rapp to rock.
BTS is not the typical boy band, they broke the mole and created something new. They do multiple genres. Their production is top tier, they are all writers and producers. They also have the best behind the mic team of engineers, producers and song writers in SK they work with. They have earned the title Kings of KPOP with the biggest fandom in the world. Currently they are all serving mandatory duty in the SK army and will regroup in 2025 once their service has ended. Before they enlisted the members dropped individual solo albums that charted on the billboard 100 and 200 charts and is still charting. BTS is a true David vs Goliath story, because of their talent they turned a small nearly bankrupt company into a major conglomerate in SK right behind the likes of Samsung, LG and Kia. I look forward to watching your journey as you learn about BTS.

Neurons are nerve cells that move your body. J-Hope and the featured rappers are talking about the things that inspire them, gets them fired up and moving. Before joining BTS J-Hope was a hip-hop street dancer as a kid and now after 10 years with BTS he's going back to revisit the kind of dancing that first got him moving.

Yoonmirae is a seasoned rapper and she sings beautifuly. She is married to TigerJK. J Hope nailed it. He is extraordinary as the other 6 BTS men. This is quality and fun music. They do not have a bad song at all. As BTS and on their solo projects.

9:12 "Set the bar very high" - You have no idea. You started with one of the kings of K-pop. Although I think this isn't really K-pop in the way you're thinking of it, it's a hiphop track plain and simple but bc it's coming out of Korea it gets slapped with that very misunderstood label and reputation. BTS and all of it's 7 members are kings of their craft, whether it's hiphop/rap, pop, neo soul/r&b...choose a genre and they've done it and made it their own. Just like how there is pop coming out of the US/western countries that's formulaic there is definitely the same in K-pop but BTS and it's members have always been authentic and put the quality of their music and lyrics 1st and foremost.

j-hope has a song with J. Cole, too. On The Street. j-hope wrote it as an homage to his roots as a street dancer and to his muse in his rap career (J. Cole), and it also serves as a "goodbye for now" as he leased it shortly before he left to complete his mandatory military service. It's a very sentimental song with great old school, New York vibes. And it was really cool to see j-hope get to work on a song with the artist that inspired him to become the rapper he is today.

People who don't know BTS and have the boys as their first "K-pop" reaction get really excited that this is K-pop but this is BTS. They are a genre into themselves. K-pop is actually a pretty specific visual and auditory experience, and nothing like BTS and their solo works. They might have started within the K-pop industry, and have some of their songs which I'd consider K-pop, but they have outgrown it very fast and haven't looked back. Enjoyed your reaction and enthusiasm! Please check out more solo works from BTS guys as it's their most recent work while they are serving in the military. 💜

So hard to choose but for the rap line I would suggest the following:
    - Agust D aka SUGA “Daechwita" or “The Last” or “Agust D”
    - RM “Wild Flower” or “Do You”…….maybe “Joke” which is very impressive but he literally did it to prove he could rap no matter the lyrics. Lol
    - J-Hope “More” or Arson” or “lock/ unlock”
For all three Cypher 1-4, UGH, DDAENG, Outro: Tear
All three have different styles of rap so prepare to enjoy the rabbit hole.

RM and Suga of BTS started rapping at the age of 13 and were big in the Korean underground hip hop scene before joining BTS. J-Hope has been hip hop dancing since he was 10 years old. He's a multi-talented, multi-faceted artist who can rap, sing, dance, write songs, compose, produce, conceptualize and lead content creation in various media. He worked with famous street dancers in Seoul, Osaka, Paris, New York and ended the series in his hometown with the dance crew Neuron, which is where he got his start before joining BTS. We are hoping for a Hope on the Street Volume 2 documentary after he returns from his military service in October! I loved your reaction!💜

As other comments have said, it's always hilarious to see people think they're experiencing their first kpop song when they pick BTS or one of the members solo works when they're the most un-kpop group of all. There's many many reasons why they're the biggest international band out of that country, and infact the label "kpop" is practically used against them at this point. BTS is the biggest group in the world and one of the most successful artists.
The group consists of 7 members (including 3 rappers and 4 vocalists) from South Korea.
    5.JIMIN ( vocalist ) October 13, 1995 - 28 years old
    6. V ( vocalist ) December 30, 1995 - 28 years old
    7. JUNGKOOK ( vocalist ) September 1, 1997 - 26 years old
They collaborated with a lot of artists such as: Snoop Dogg, Steve Aoki, Juice WRLD, Wale, Lauv, Fall Out Boy, Warren G,

NLE Choppa, Kodak Black, Desiigner, Coldplay, Lil Nas X, Charlie Puth, Usher...(+more)
As a group BTS have a huge amount of songs 300+
(only 3 of their songs as a group are entirely in English).
They are all songwriters and music producers,
most of their work is very meaningful, so reading the lyrics is really important.
They make music in a lot of different genres and styles (Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, EDM, Latin Pop, Ballad, ...+).
Each of the members is very different, and all of them make their own solo stuff
so depending on what kind of music you are interested in, you really have a lot to choose from.

🧠💜🔥J-Hoooooope! So glad you started your BTS journey with a fun song like Neuron! Please do react to more BTS. They have so much amazing content and great performances and MV’s. I recommend some of their earlier group songs: We Are Bulletproof Pt. 2, Dope, Not Today, UGH!, IDOL, MIC DROP, ON Kinetic Manifesto. Watch their MV’s and then their live performances. Make sure to have the English subtitles turned on because their lyrics are always so meaningful.💜

Oh, you will SO enjoy the BTS rap line!💜 If you want another j-hope track, try On the Street with J.Cole. You could also try Daechwita or Do You by his band brothers Agust D and RM respectively. Or perhaps Mic Drop by all of BTS.
Whatever you choose, you can always switch on the subtitles (except for the autogenerated ones, lord forbid!😅).

All three of the BTS rappers are impressive! I suggest watching their music videos and turning on the english translation to understand the lyricsl
Jhope: Daydream and Airplane from his mixtape Hope Word (yes that is a reference to Cole World), More and Arson from his album Jack in the Box, and his single On the Street featuring J Cole!
SUGA aka AgustD: Agust-D and Give it to Me from his mixtape Agust-D, Daechwita from his mixtape D-2, and Haegeum, Amydala and People part 2 from his album D-Day
RM: Joke and Do You from his mixtape RM, Seoul, Moonchild and Forever Rain from his album Mono, and Wildflower and Still Life from his album Indigo.

Enjoyed your reaction! Check out their lyrics. Def a 5. 🧠LOL. Thanks for the suggestion AMBER! Please don't assume BTS is KPOP! They started as a hiphop group then added vocals and choreo of Kpop at a time when that wasn't done. As a result they were shunned by hiphop (who thought they were sellouts) and Kpop (who thought they were too free to write their own stuff and not conform to their idol standards). So BTS said screw it, we'll do our own thing. And they did it well. Now Kpop try to emulate them, but still aren't allowed to write their own stuff 90%+ of the time. While BTS has some Uber Pop songs, it is a mere fraction of what they've done and not a representation of who they are.
Here, JHOPE was returning to his roots of dancing. The MV has Eng Subs, just turn em on next time. YoongMarie is actually from TEXAS. Her dad is African American and mom is South Korean. She is huge in Korean underground HipHop. BTS Rapline has no misses fr! So fire! Just found you, so don't know what you like. BTS (and each member) does whatever style and genre fits the mood of what they want to say. No genre off limits. They are so fun and always versatile. They always change up flows and styles. Couple of things to recommend if you are open to trying it.
First, I wanted to recommend Ddaeng and Ugh. Since someone mentioned Ugh below, I'll leave those links here. The first is a live performance with Eng Subs (these guys are always better live, its crazy). And the second is the DKDKtv explanation vid. PLEASE do it after. We will watch! These guys are about lyrics and some songs, especially with the rapline, need the explanation for so much we miss. But the gist is being angry about anger that flares up without purpose that causes harm to others but also being angry about anger that disappears when it needs to be present to make real change.
UGH (live with Eng Subs): ruclips.net/video/ZhfNSdpxjGw/видео.htmlsi=xDKpfi3WIs4NIO-G
    UGH (explained): ruclips.net/video/Cq3nGiu0_gI/видео.htmlsi=6sVTFQ_mKVUdSpA0
Second, one of BTS's early songs is Born Singer. They wrote it back in 2013 just after debut on the beat of JCole's Born Sinner. Gives a good look at their mindset and just one of the ways they mix vocals with rap. This video is a fan fave and juxtaposes and early performance with one they did a few years later. ruclips.net/video/dE68ZbmDi_A/видео.htmlsi=ZCrCEW2U9U3MYcf2 In 2022 When JHope was headlining Lollapalloza in Chicago he met JCole and shortly after he gave them permission to include it on their anthology. So if you like it, feel free to watch this version after that one and see them do it 10 years later. ruclips.net/video/oH4IZw9PYgk/видео.htmlsi=p_6DddWGUch9u3l0
Hope you always enjoy your journey with whatever you are listening to. Life's too short to be unhappy with what you do. Peace. ✌

KPOP is an industry, not a genre. The genres within KPOP are the same as their western counter parts; R&B, pop, traditional, hip hop, jazz, rock, alternative. JHope as an artist would be placed in the hip hop genre. Most westerners think music made by Idol bands or groups is the sum of Korean music which would equate to calling American music pop whether it's jazz, country, hip hop or hard rock. You just listened to a hip hop track.

J Hope of the 3 best Rappers who happen to be in Kpop but that's because he come's from the underground Korean Hip Hop Scene although with his fellow band members RM and Suga (aka Agust D) where were also Part of the Same Korean Hip Hop scene. They are real Rappers who write their own Lyric's and produce their own beats unlike Kpop Rappers who are not considered singers so are given lyric's and told to rap them.

@@BrilliantHumandance is part of Hip Hop underground scene .. J-Hope didn't discovered rap when he arrived at Big Hit but he developped his skills their with rappers who where at Big Hit at the Time. In early pré début he said he counts on RM and Suga to help him out but it was probably more a demagogy speach because J-Hope learned very fast and later he told another story on the way he learned which was more Self learner and classic way, like all rappers he learned by listening other rappers and practicing with RM, Suga and others. There is a specific rapper who mentoring hima bit but also Suga who still had to learn back then But I don't remember his name. RM was the one who was allready perfectly skilled when he arrived at Big Hit. And during pré-debut Era only RM and J-Hope did rap featuring, 4 for RM and 2 for J-Hope. But J-Hope was the first to get individual KOMCA credits followed by RM who start writing songs for other while waiting for debut. That happened After J-Hope Come back to Big Hit so I think it's possible it gave conditions about individual credits. So no J-Hope wasn't a rapper before joining BTS but he was part of the underground Hip Hop scene and became very quickly a honorable member of the Rapline.

I grew up on western hip hop…but in the last decade…I couldn’t really get into it. It’s all either mumble rap, or gibberish. Even tho this is in Korean and you don’t understand the lyrics…just the pronunciation alone is already more captivating than a lot of the rap songs out today from western artists. Just my opinion

This is definitely not like most kpop music haha (I do enjoy kpop but it's different). BTS work in a wide range of genres but their root is hip hop and they write their own music, so they stand apart from mainstream kpop style. You should check out their cover of J.Cole's Born Sinner called 'Born Singer', or their song 'Hip Hop Lover', both songs tell some of their story. They have great live performances too!
If you like Yoonmirae, she has another collab with a BTS member: BukuBuku by MFBTY (ft. RM)
If you like Gaeko he also has a collab with RM called Gajah.
And if you like artists that can dance, oh man... you're gonna have fun with BTS those boys can DANCE! You could react to 'Run BTS' Dance Practice from 2022 to get a taste (they have an older song called Run so don't get confused).
