In this video firstly it is explained clearly in full details about roundabouts in the UK, and then it is shown in practice how to deal with roundabouts.
Roundabouts are complex and it can be confusing unless one has the full knowledge and the full understanding of roundabouts. This video was created to make the roundabouts easy to understand and not feel confused on roundabouts in the UK.
In this video it's explained how to approach roundabouts with the sequence of Mirrors, Signal, Position, Speed and Look (MSPSL), and the sequence is explained in plain English so it's understood by the viewers easily. It's then shown video clips to explain how the sequence is put into practice.
To summarize - this video will give the full theory explained on roundabouts and how to deal with roundabouts or how to drive on roundabouts.
By the end of this video the viewers will have full knowledge and full understanding of roundabouts in the UK and that was the plan when the video was created. A great video for learner drivers in the UK.
Roundabouts:
1st Exit Left:
1. Check top rear view mirror and left mirror
2. Left signal
3. Left lane
4. Speed around 10MPH around 2 car distance away, gear should be 2nd and clutch fully up before entering the roundabout
5. Final look on the right, when clear enter the roundabout on the left lane. As leaving the roundabout check the rear view mirror, left and right mirror and take the signal off.
2nd Exit Straight Ahead:
1. Rear view mirror and left mirror
2. No signal
3. Left lane
4. Reduce the speed to around 10MPH around 2 car distance away from roundabout, gear should be 2nd and clutch fully up before entering the roundabout.
5. Final look on the right, if safe enter the roundabout on the left lane and as passing the 1st exit look on the rear view mirror and left mirror and signal left. Then as leaving the roundabout check the rear view mirror, left and right mirror and take the signal off once left the roundabout.
3rd Exit Right:
1. Rear view mirror and right mirror
2. Signal right
3. Position on the right lane. Check the right blindspot before changing lane
4. Speed around 10MPH around 2 car distance away from roundabout, 2nd gear and clutch fully up before entering the roundabout
5. Final look on the right, if safe enter into the right lane and keep signalling right. As passing the 2nd exit check rear view mirror, left mirror, signal left and check over left shoulder for blindspot and change into left lane. As leaving the roundabout check rear view mirror, left mirror and right mirror and enter into left lane and take signal off once entered fully.
4th Exit Right:
Same as 3rd exit on approach, above, except when leaving signal after the 3rd exit and into left lane.

1.MSPS
2.When you stop on the left side of the road please check your blind spot no matter what.
3. Don't speed 30 - Drive 27 or 28 if it's safe to do so. Cars on both sides drive very slow.
50 Drive 47 or 48 don't drive 50 because you are at risk of going over your speed without knowing.
3. Watch the videos they are very helpful as long as you learn from them and reverse parking as long as you are in the bay you are fine and you can open the door to check if you are in. I did!!
4. Think positive on your test and on my test I talk through everything 😅😂 example, he ask me to go straight and I said that is 2 exit is before 12 which means left 👈 😅. Ask him if you don't understand which exit.
!! Remember you only have to prove to one person for only 45 or 35 minutes that you are a safe driver!! So you got this 🤗🤗

Almost relaxing listening. Hay I’ve been driving 30 years passed first time when I was 17 and even passed first time a second advanced driving test for work and I found it interesting and spot on. Great you can tell kids to watch a clip when they can’t take lessons just now under COVID.

I've actually passed haha but there have been a few round abouts that gave me trouble on right turns (These are huge industrial roundabouts) so found this really usful :)

What a brilliant explanation thank you so much, I have one question though, do I have to look over my shoulder or can I just use my mirrors.

This kind of message helps me and it motivates me to do more because I know it's helping and helping is the reason of this channel. So firstly I thank you for your great comment.
Secondly to answer your question, YES you must look over your shoulder as well as your mirrors. Just mirrors DO NOT cover your blindspot and you must make sure there are NO road users on your blindspot, and to make sure the blindspot is clear you must look over your shoulder.
Changing lane if you DO NOT look over your shoulder to check if your blindspot is safe you will fail your driving test.
Hope this answer your question, and wishing you all the best learning and passing your driving test, and if you have passed already then wishing you a safe journey throughout life...

When you are leaving the roundabout a check to the side should be sufficient. It is not necessary to look over your shoulder.
