Thanks but this does not work anymore. Their platform has completely changed. They now require you to host your podcast with them if you have a video podcast and then they handle your rss feed for everything else, which sounds nice, but not if you already have hosting somewhere else. If you use other video podcast hosting, you can't add your feed to Spotify.
Yes you’re right the interface has changed a little but the steps still apply. This video is intended for people hosting with Spotify, and not meant for someone hosting elsewhere that wants to add video to Spotify in addition to original hosting (I.e. video podcasts on Spotify are all or nothing which has its own set of advantages/disadvantages)
Great video. What do you think would happen if you uploaded a vertical format podcast? Is it going to show full-screen or get squished into the 16:9 window?

Is there a wait time from uploading the first episode to when it will be seen on Spotify? Does it need to be approved?
From my experience, once the RSS feed and account is all setup the audio version will be available but it took a little bit for the video version to be transcoded. Spotify automatically sends an email to the account provided to let you know the video version is now available. Also in the Spotify settings, there is a toggle to enable videos to playback when not using WiFi which I didn't know also.

I use simplecast, can we do the same with simplcast or is anchor the only hosting platform that can do this?
For video just directly with Anchor (now it’s just direct to Spotify)
Man, I came here bc I thought Anchor/Spotify made it easy to create podcast videos on the app. But looks like we can only upload Otr reorder videos right? I was looking stream live simultaneously. If not, Streamyard it is!

So does this only upload to spotify or is it like a hosting site that uploads it to other platforms, apple, pandora etc.
Yep that is right it sends the audio out to the other platforms

So you have to upload your podcast to anchor then they will publish it to spotify? So you need to have an anchor subscription then can publish your podcasts? I dont see a way to publish podcasts directly onto spotify
Anchor and Spotify are the same thing now

Hi Sara, they updated the website shortly after I released this video. You should be able to upload over on podcasters.spotify.com

There are dozens of ways to get paid for doing podcasts, I currently do not.

Spotify is broken. No longer work since they took over Anchor 😢
It still works exactly the same; it’s just through Spotify for podcasts now rather than Anchor. We still upload weekly using the method in this video
