The new episodes aren't all too bad. I admit, they're not what they once was, but it's been what, 17 years? After a while, ideas start to deteoriate, and writers get writers block. It's REALLY hard to keep something as good as the OG spongebob episodes running for almost 2 decades. That being said, I commend everyone who works on the show.

This might sound cheesy and Cliche but my father was never there when I was a kid and my mom worked 2 jobs, day and night with barely a day off, Spongebob was always there for me and I remember it being the highlight of my days for many days because it was the only thing I had to look forward to getting off of the bus and walking home. Thanks Stephen Hillenburg for creating more joy in my life then my actual father. Rest easy
