The boss is troublesome after opening the safe. Your team needs to have both White Wind and Big Guard to beat this boss or the boss will wipe your team off very fast once it turns all purple.

I don't recall this safe being such an issue when I played this on PS in the 90s. I'm not sure i can be bothered. Vincent was a bench warmer for me most of the time anyway.
its because you need to get that number without pass, for example if you get to 36 and you pass even if you return to 36 and push the button to confirm that doesn't count (yeah the game have very strict rules) is the same with all numbers even if you do in the correct order and the correct numbers, so only need to practice and dont pass the number, just stop in these number without pass or the game dont count that try
You can't go past the numbers you need (just like a real lock). Also (something most guides don't mention) you have to hit the confirm button when you land on a number (circle on PS1 version, may be different for other versions)
I lost the first time i fought him i was like level 27-28, but i didnt heal properly. I leveled up to 30 outside of town. Healed properly and easily beat him.
@@EastSide_LB I was just about that same level and fortunately had E skills like White Wind, Big Guard, Beta and Aqualung to completely wreck this boss, lol. Those skills are overpowered.
