Idk how much weight to give this considering you recommended one that I’m quite literally putting in the trash when I do pick an upgrade (launchkey49) For anyone wondering, I’ve always been fine with other novation controllers, but this one has not held up to time; it does not connect anymore with any combinations of cords and ports (all other controllers work), the pitch while playing used to modulate up and down (bad resistance or connection in the pitch wheel), and aside from those hardware issues, it is one of the cheapest feeling pieces of musical equipment I’ve held. I had children’s pianos as a kid that felt better quality. The entire keyboard flexes when you articulate a key. Arturia 88 MK2 is the best keyboard out there in my opinion. It wasn't fair to compare the Native 88 with the Arturia essential. Hey Edward how's it going? Great video btw. I'm an upcoming trance music producer. Currently I'm using the Akai MPK Mini MK3. Great midi keyboard to start out with but as of the last week or so I've started to feel a bit restricted by the 25 keys that come with the midi keyboard. The synths I'm currently working with include Spire and Sylenth1 (sylenth1 is a 61 key synth I'm pretty sure). I was just wondering what amount of keys would your recommend to me? I was thinking of purchasing either the Arturia Keylab Essential 49 or 61 (not the mk2's)

All of these sound like doable options for me but I got a question. Let's say I wanna make synthwave kinda music. Which one of these would you recommend?
Hey, im looking to get into producing hip hop and R&B type of music. I dont really have to much skill with actual pianos. So i would consider myself a beginner. Although im learning. Do you recommend 25 keys or 49? And which specific one?

Unfortunately you don’t get 52 key midi keyboards. What you are looking for is a 61 key midi keyboard 💪🏻
does it novation launchkey usb 49 works with fl studio and windows ?
Realised I was in diar need for a midi keyboard.
I've been trying to get my hands on some traditional Japanese instruments for game tracks and my own music, considering the price this was impossible until I was reminded of midi lol 😅
Yeah thats cool. Having one Midi Keyboard and being able to Play literally any Instrument you want with it
hi mate looking to buy an arturia im really sorry but im a bit confused you have shown two different arturia keyboards as the arturia keylab essential one with 8 pads and another with 16?
My bad man. The Arturia Keylab Essential has only 8 drum pads. Overall it has less features than the Arturia Keylab MK2 (16 Drum pads).
Arturia Keylab Essential - amzn.to/2Vzulck
Arturia Keylab 49 MK2 - amzn.to/36DJaPz
Sorry about that!
Is there midi keyboard which contains all keys. Also for beat making?
Yes, most will be much more expensive
Jo bro, great video! I'm producing trance and house tracks, wich midi keybord would you recommend. For example does a 61 have enough keys?
Any of these 61 keys will do the job perfectly!!
@@EdwardSmithMusic allright, thanks mate!! 💯
I am using windows so what DAW software is best to perform on live ?
Is it okay to buy m audio 49 keys??
Struggling to decide, i've been looking at the Native Instruments A49 but the Arturia Keylab also looks good...would you say the Arturia is better ?
Both are pretty good. The novation is newer, but the arturia is still a more solid product.
Hi,I am looking for a keyboard to produce sheet music. The 88key list that in the description all unavailable right now.
Any other recommendation?
Is Casio PSX1000/3000 ok?
Thanks.
Have a good day.
Hlo Edward..are those 49 keys midi controllers compatible with waveform free daw??
"The Arturia KeyLab Essential 49"
**pulls up photo of a KeyLab MkII**
How did you make this video what program are you using
I have an old Technics KN800 with MIDI in/out and thro. It`s from around 1990. Will it work?
Nice video, find it helpful, but I have one question.
What do you think about Arturia KeyLab Essential 61? Looking forward to buy it, but maybe I should look for 49 keys model?
It's really good and worth the money. If you think you don't need as many keys, the 49 key is just as good!
@@EdwardSmithMusicThanks for reply
I want to make and learn some symphonic-based music and learn how to play keys, so I'm a bit worried, that 49 wouldn't be enough. Midi for me is, first of all a keyboard, that allow me to play piano/organ and only after a controller, that I'll be using in future
so you got 61?
@@pastuh Yes, it's really cool keyboard. Guess, I can recommend one:)
So glad I found your channel, would appreciate your recommendations. I've been using the 1999 Korg Triton le61 and want to update. It has it owns sounds and is a midi kontroller and so looking for something the same but modern. Thank you ☺️🙏🏽🌿
Welcome aboard! Nowadays you don't get midi keyboards that have their own sounds as everything is focused on digital samples... but if I had to give a recommendation on a good 61 Key Midi Keyboard, I would for for the Arturia Essential 61- bit.ly/35hXT3n
@@EdwardSmithMusic thank you brother, M Audio Air or Komplete Audio please? ☺️🙏🏽🌿
Can you change sounds on a midi keyboard on the keyboard itself? So I don’t need to use my pc mouse to choose the sound ?
Only with Native Instruments midi keyboards and their Kontakt plugins.
I'm a little stuck.. which 25 key midi should I use for FL studio?
Get the NEW Akai Mpk mini mk3 💪🏼
@@EdwardSmithMusic Will do 👊
Can the next episode be about studio monitors?
There will be an episode on monitors coming soon...
@@EdwardSmithMusic Thanks!!
The Arturia Keylab Essential 49/61 are perfect for what you want. I would pick between them as well!
Arturia Keylab Essential 49 - amzn.to/3oDlV0y
Arturia Keylab Essential 61 - bit.ly/3kGhC26
Take care!
Can you please tell me what keyboard is the best for the rock metal composition?
currently an Alesis VI 49 is 100€ idk if buy it over launchkey mini/minilab👁️👄👁️
If you are more focused on keys, get the Alesis... If not, go for the Launchkey mini/ Akai MPK Mini MK3
So I've never played a midi keyboard but I'm going to buy the keylab essential. I heard that midi keyboards can control analog synths and I was wondering if this was true
Can compose a song with apk mini keyboard?
Yes of course!!
I wanna find a good keyboard and synth for computer to make industrial and agrotech music. Anyone having any recommendations?
Ahhh I simply can’t decide between 3 minis: Arturia, Novation and Akai 🙄 Any tips for a complete newbie? I plan to use it for basic songwriting and live looping on the go. Thanks!
