I remember growing up watching married with children and I wanna thank Ed for all the laughs and great memories 😂 he was truly the star of the show.
He could really insult you in a funny way. He was kind of the second coming of Archie Bunker who was funny as heck to.In today's world that kind of humor would not fly unfortunately.

I think she contributed to the show. I can even see hurt feelings over the cover of TV Guide. It's natural to want to be included, and TV Guide's excuse of "we only allow x many people on the cover" was a weak excuse. But at the same time, know your place in the hierarchy and don't make big deals out of insignificant ones.

The boss (Bearse as director) should never be a fellow employee. Granted, she was a great asset to the show, but if Garrison (Steve Rhodes) could make a gracious exit, Marcie could too for her director duties. Changing topics, Ed O'Neill was in a restaurant while on vacation and overheard a couple at another table talking about the cancelation of Married With Children and, after confirming it with his agent, paid the bill for the couple. Similarly, Christina Applegate learned of the cancelation from friends.
Steve had a few cameos after the divorce if i recall

Ed can be a real jerk. Laughing about Amanda's wedding to a woman shows he has a major flaw. I like him but am shocked at his teenage insensitivity. Laughing at people who are different is not funny. He was a very handsome man. I wonder if he got leading roles because of his good looks when he was young. He can laugh at Amanda's sexual orientation but not his fake death. That is hypocritical. Whoever did that to him is really evil!

SHE didn't invite both Ed O'Neill and David Faustino because she feared they would laugh at their choice for wedding clothes and it kind of became a self-fulfilling prophesy. She could have been "the adult in the room", sat down with them and explained to them that her wedding was very important to her and that they were welcome to her wedding on the condition that they would show her and her partner the respect they deserved. Then it would have been up to O'Neill and Faustino to either attend and behave themselves or to stay away. What Amanda, perhaps unintentional, achieved was for them to double down on making fun of her.
O'Neill even spoke out on their differences and said that it was Amanda who changed. In her first relationship SHE was the "wife", while in her second relationship she turned into the "husband" and somehow thought she had to macho O'Neill and Faustino into compliance/acceptance by going head-to-head with them. For a woman who was arguably very smart, even O'Neill said that of her, SHE made some very dumb moves that made the situation between her and the guys much worse.

Thumbs down for serious inaccuracy. O'Neill absolutely never said that they couldn't work together and either she had to go or he'd go. What he said was that he *could* get her fired from the show by claiming that he couldn't work with her anymore and either she goes or he goes. But he never did it.
Real facts on that!!! All Ed O'Neil had to do was walk over to THE MAIN GUY and quickly had Amanda Bearse removed from the show with a snap of his finger! But he held back on that!
She was actually pretty cute in that movie Fright Night, way back in the day. After that, well, not so much.

I'm a 90's kid, I would endear Ed O' Neill as the possible Archie Bunker of the 90's. And this may be hard to believe, but I LOVE Married with Children MORE NOW since I've gotten into politics and have become Conservative/MAGA American. With all the unoriginal preachy LGTBQ Leftist BS political correctness that dominates mainstream entertainment today, great politically Incorrect shows like Married With Children have only aged like wine.

As much as I love Ed as an actor, mainly for MWC, as I've never seen modern family, he is getting a bit old to carry a show. Movies maybe, but a weekly show, not so much anymore. He deserves to have what time he has left to spend with his daughters and wife and just enjoy life. We still have the MWC show available to enjoy him in his prime any time we want.

What this leaves out is Bearse chasing the original creators out of the show. This is why they came back with Happily Ever After which was an obvious Married with Children clone. I wouldn't be surprised if Bearse and O'Neill clashed. Every interview I saw with Bearse is she had a love hate relationship with the show. The show was very male driven and in her interviews it didn't jive with her politics.

The show was nothing without Ed, but he/she could have been replaced at any point and never been missed.
I have the entire series on DVD, amongst others. So, when they eventually turn off internet streaming, Al Bundy will remain a permanent fixture in my household.
Nobody could have played his role in Married With Children, or Modern Family, better than he did. Neither would have worked without him.

They both were good in their own way. Steve hated Marcie but still put up with her demands, and he related to Al better than Jefferson did. Jefferson seemed to be happy to let Marcie boss him around, and was kinda more like a Labrador retriever turned human

Show is still fun to watch after all this time. Working together for so long there's bound to be tug of wars and creative differences that cause problems. Common with long running shows and music bands. Over time on shows some actors grow tired of and even hate the characters that they are forced to play. Good video.

Amanda and Laurie Metcalf who played Jackie on Roseanne are very similar and two favorites of of mine. I love the whole cast of Married with children and Roseanne. A dispute between two characters is never gonna change the love and sense of humor of the show for me. Everyone is funny and the shows are entertaining. Don't let any personal arguments and tension between two people ruin your opinions of them. It has nothing to do with us. 🙂👍
Everytime I see Marcy on Married with children I get excited and always laugh a lot. 😂 Same for Jackie on Roseanne, especially when she has short hair and acts Looney.
