    Thanks Steve. It's nice to see you do another head drawing. Love my fellow Scot, Sean Connery. Great job on the drawing. It looks fantastic and I like the blue pencil.

    Enjoyed the video Steve. It’s a nice likeness. I also enjoy doing studies from art books the Vanderpoel “the human figure” book is quite nice so is the Sargent charcoal portrait book.

      Hi Jeff, thanks for the recommendation. I see that I have the book, and must have gotten it somewhere along the way. It's time to take it down from the shelf and take another goo at it.

    Thank you Steve, that was a very informative lesson. For me, my hobby is drawing unfamiliar faces in bound sketch books. I have been doing this for years. I like trying to stay in the one hour limit for each portrait. What you did in an hour was way beyond me! That's why I'll stick to unfamiliar faces.
    My subjects come from portrait photography books and I found a great source from the " HUMANS " Books written and photographed by Brandon Stanton.
    This is something that I enjoy doing in my retirement. I am certainly not making any money doing it. Some people like doing crossword puzzles. This is what I do. Thanks again for another great video.

      Hi Brian, thanks for your comment. I love hearing what you do to keep yourself practiced. There is something so special about drawing faces isn't there? It doesn't matter if we ever make a dime from it, it's just the pure joy of drawing, right? Draw on!! PS. Can't abide doing crosswords ;0)

      @@SteveAtkinsonFineArt Thanks heap sir. I should have thought of amazon.
      I've stopped drawing "for yonks". For reasons I won't say. This light box, got my curiosity and bit of interest back. I haven't practised too for yonks.
      I've got one drawing from a life drawing class i attended. Shown in my RUclips profile. That was done around 2005 i think. That was the last time I drew.
      Thanks heap again.

      Amazon is in the process of building a massive (24 rugby league field sized) warehouse out here western side of Sydney. Also after my 1st ever order getting to me successfully. I think I'm making purchases online more now than shops. When I can.

    Hi. REALLY love your work! I’ve just started watching your videos and look forward to watching them all. I’ve learned MUCH from you already and I sincerely thank you for that!💎 I don’t know if anyone has asked this, or if if I’m treading on thin ice, but would one use the Liquin Original to seal the initial drawing for an acrylic painting? I would truly like to know if this is done...but don’t want to offend oil painting In the process. Thank you.

    • @SteveAtkinsonFineArt
      @SteveAtkinsonFineArt  3 года назад +1

      Hi Jasper, it's great to hear from you. And not just cuz you made me feel good, ha! I'm glad you find my vids helpful. That makes it all worthwhile. And your question is a good one. The answer is no, you wouldn't use Liquin to seal an initial drawing for an acrylic painting. Liquin is a medium for oil painting and you don't want to paint over top of it with acrylic paint. If I wanted to seal a drawing that I'd be painting over with acrylics, I'd probably use a thin coat of acrylic gel medium. But I don't paint in acrylics anymore. Mostly because I couldn't stand having my wet paint dry to a darker value... it drove me bonkers, lol. So maybe someone who reads this comment can correct me if they know better. Happy painting!

      Thank you so very much!! I was thinking along those lines but wanted to get it from an expert. Again, I just love your videos and the humor you add is GREAT! Also, I will definitely be trying some oil painting at some point. So your advice is double good for me. Thank you!💎
