Disney knows how to make me cry I'm glad Winifred Sanderson passed on the books to the new generation of witches that's a sentimental note and I like that I like how at the end they took their personalities too
She didn't pass on Book to a new generation. Book changed sides and after seeing Winnie so upset about losing her sister's he helped Winnie to them. Winnie never gave them Book willingly and even said "I don't NEED a book."
I think it's touching. Despite how evil they were, Winifred realizes that her life isn't worth living without her sisters as they're literally all they have left in the world.
This was the only movie that really made me cry. Seeing Winifred become a good guy at the end was incredible. Seeing how sad Winnie was when her sisters disappeared and how happy she was when she was being reunited with them, it made me tear up.
She didn't become a good guy. She had a moment of weakness and they were her only hope. If that hadn't happened to her sisters she would have done exactly what she planned to.
@@nathanbarker9165 I think maybe she became good too and maybe reflected on how she made other people feel when she took their siblings away from them. MAYBE if the Sanderson sisters return, Winnie will still be mischievous but not murderous. Reformed a little but keeping her essence maybe

Winifred: “My powers are nothing without my sisters.” 😢 It’s hard not to tear up in this scene every time. Obviously this movie is about what a person truly values in life. One thing I like about this scene the most it just makes the Winifred character come off as more human; and in the end she ends up being with her sisters again which whom she truly values. That’s why this movie makes a great family film. This scene may be heartbreaking; but it’s heartbreaking in the sweetest way possible.
It was nice to see Winifred feel remorse and I feel like she and her sisters could become good in the next movie. Maybe even help the new coven fight their “Mother”
@@HawkinaBox here’s my idea for a third movie somthing is happening is Salem and the new 3 witches are not powerful enough yet to help so they figure out a spell to bring Winnifred, Sarah Mary back and they work to gether to help Salem and Winnifred, Sarah Mary found another way to stay young without taking children by looking at a hidden spell and everyone lives happily ever after what do you think

I figured there was gonna be a "redemptive" arc for them, thought they would've written it better but oh well. This is a great scene. I teared up. This is the most beautiful passing away ever, to dissolve in magic dust.
I watched the sequel last night to humor myself with, but I was not expecting this to be this much of a tear jerker. My heart shattered seeing Winifred left all alone without Sarah and Mary there with her. I'm happy the Sanderson sisters were all given a sweet send off in the end. Not all sequels are good but this one was perfect.
Winifred's redemption scene not only made me pity the witches in character but in reality as well. Neither the characters or the actresses are truly immortal, and this scene only reminded me of that and should be used as a future tribute. May these women live their lives to the fullest
I'm the first movie I got the impression the only reason Winnie kept her sisters around was because of the services they provided her. I always thought she'd kill them in a heartbeat if she no longer needed them lol
I loved how it was basically past down to the other girls and book started crying… my favorite part was when the other girls started changing made me cry
Book tried to too, that's the worst part. He knew how much she loved her sisters despite her cruelty toward them and he wanted her to avoid that. I also noticed the eyes of the Mother Witch and Winnie when she completes Magicae Maxima. The witch who gave them the book did it first and tried to warn her too.... Shame. Winnie was her own undoing
I am surprised that they actually made Winifred regretful of losing her sisters to the afterlife. And now she can go back to them by sacrificing this, sacrificing all this power to be where the sisters. That's just so beautiful. It's like, Oh my Lord in heaven. That was just beautiful scene. It's so touching. Plus, she loved her sister so much that it's just so beautiful.
The song and the scene made me tear up bc this was probably the last Hocus Pocus we’ll ever see. And how happy she was when she was reuniting with her sisters.
No matter how many times Winnie abused Mary and Sarah so much all those centuries ago, this moment made her realize that she can’t go a DAY without her sisters. They’ve been her rocks through thick and thin, even when they cooked up their wickedest spells of all time. Having the all mighty power of a god is a cool feeling but only a material thing. It was there that Winnie realized that what good is having all that power if you have nobody to share it with?
To be honest, this movie was done really well. Anyone who says otherwise I believe went into this with 30 year expectations and/ or is looking at this through the eyes of a child in the 90s- early 00s. This was great if you go in knowing it's a sequel and sequels aren't as good as their first iteration. I'm also glad they left room for a third, because seeing the sisters be somewhat good or at least chaotic neutral would be very interesting
Yuuup Mother Witch is still lurking around Salem, probably try and corrupt the new Coven. Beccas powers aren't strong enough so they'll probably need to use that BF candle #2.
I loved the movie but it would've been so much better if the main focus was on the sisters past ya feel? Like we get to see them get to where they are in power. Their struggles etc. Loved the movie but I just wish we had more scenes of their past
I never cared for the Hocus Pocus series, but the sisters really are hilarious, and I was not expecting such an emotional scene from them! On paper, it seems so cheesy, but it really is tear-jerking. In a way, it's somewhat of a triumphant end for them. They died, but they are together at peace.
Though this was not as good as the first movie. At least we see that the witches were more layered than how we initially saw them and that they value comradery more than power.
Why do people say they were redeemed/became good in the end? They still revere Satan, enjoyed being in Hell, and are on board with eating children to regain and retain their youth. She just realized she didn’t want to go on without her sisters by her side. Despite ragging on them constantly they were her family. But being a family does not negate the fact that they were and should always remain villains.
I don't understand why people think Winnie was redeemed at the end. She wasn't. Heck, if her sister's had not died, the main characters would be dead and Winnie would be laughing. She didn't pass a torch either as Book changed sides, Winnie didn't willingly give up Book. And Winnie saying the nice things to the girls? She was just saying something similar to the girls as she was told since she then understood why she was told not to use the spell. The thing with Winnie is that she does show respect when it is due. Even if it means going after you herself, she has some respect because you are then worth her time. If you are not worth her time she ignores you unless you make fun of her.
Redemption doesn't always need to mean a character joining the good side. Yes, Winnie may still be evil, but we got to see she is capable of remorse, guilt, love, and gratitude. Neither she nor her sisters are merely caricatures of evil. They are still (to a degree) human, for lack of a better word.
You know despite all the abuse Winifred inflicted on her sisters it's nice to see that that under that green sour apple shell of hers there's a sweet red cherry flavored center in there that shows she really cares about her sisters
The ending to the first movie made a lot of sense because they were supposed to die the way they did so that Zachary and his sister could recieve justice and he could be freed from his cat form. This ending makes sense here because Winnie was given a chance at redemption and to realize how much she loved her sisters.
Disney Most Certainly knows how to make you Cry because despite all of the evil and unholiness they caused on the World deep Down Winifried was good and loved her sisters and once when she realized thar was the ultimate price of the Spell she redeemed herself and was able to Rest In Peace even in the Underworld
Me too! I've read so many hate comments that I thought I was going to be the only one who was going to like this movie and cry from it. Glad I'm not the only one. XD
nunca me habían gustado tanto el personaje de unas villanas no llega a hacer odiables repetitivas y me encariñe tanto que cuando vi esta escena si llore un poquito🥺
What I like is even though she's reunited you know all three of them are still going to Hell, but they don't care, cause they're together and that's all that matters. there's not place they rather be as long as they're together.
I hope that they do make a third movie. I wasn't really a fan of this sequel, but that doesn't mean that I didn't like any of the stuff they had. I like the idea of having the witches turning good. For the next movie, they should have that Witch Mother character return as the main villain. And with the Sandersons back, the "Mother" will give them an offer in which they can't refuse. Winifred, as greedy as she is, will want it all. Since Winifred was a little harsher to Mary and Sarah in this movie, she could be even worse to them which will set Mary and Sarah over the edge to turn their backs on her and fight back. Near the end, the Mother decides she doesn't just want the lives of all the children of Salem, but every single life. Including Mary and Sarah's. This is when Winifred knows what she's doing is wrong and she will do whatever she can to save everyone. At the end of the final battle, the Mother will say "If you do this, you will return to Hell! Eternal damnation for you and your sisters!" And Winifred will say "It will be a worthy sacrifice for me and my sisters, knowing no one will suffer a terrible fate from a monster like thee". With this, after the Mother is sent to Hell, two things can happen to the Sandersons. Either one, they are allowed to stay in the world of the living, without their powers, and will live in their old house entertaining people as actresses by giving people their history like how Gilbert did. Or two, since the Sandersons proved themselves to have good in them and turn away from their evil ways, they are allowed to go to Heaven. With this, Binx can be there to greet them saying he's proud of what they have done. Emily could be there too. The Sandersons will apologize for what they have done. Either way, if Billy somehow comes back, Winifred can apologize to him as well for how she treated him. And I hope that Max, Dani, Allison, Jay, and Ice return.
Actually made Dr plan to make a third one. Could it be an animated one where Danny will be in it actually with three sisters' return and actually is it gonna be made 2024? I don't know the details but they hinted it might happen.
What got me was when book started crying. I’m glad they showed a second black flame candle at the end. Maybe if they ever make new hocus pocus content they’ll be less villainous but still cause mischief
They are supposed to be murderous witches who killed children, so we should hate them. But this damn scene made me cry what I haven't cried in my whole damn life. I don't know if it's because of nostalgia and therefore I grew up with these witches. Or maybe I'm older. But the charisma and chemistry that Bette, Sarah and Mary possess, I've never seen in another movie... Thanks movie. You've made her empathize with murderous witches.
Y’all saying you got teary eyed but omg plz tell me I’m not the only one who was FULL ON SOBBING HARD!!?! Omg I was not even expecting it to hit that hard and even now just thinking about it and watching it again I had to pause before they started dissolved cuz my emotional ass was already crying again ooooph my heart can’t take it twice in one day!! 😭
This is one of the things that made this sequel not work and clearly needed rewrites. I love Bette Midler and all. But I'm sorry, the character she plays in this movie is NOT Winifred Sanderson. In the original film, she was this evil, sadistic, and heartless witch who literally murdered children. You don't give a redemption arc to a character like that unless you're able to do it with very smart writing which this movie did not do. Also, as great as it is to see her acknowledge that she loves her sisters, it felt off because there was literally a line in the original movie where she said she would gladly sacrifice her sisters if it meant that she could live forever
Winifred you should know, the spell; Magica Maxima can grant the user what it wants, but it comes at a price. In order for the spell to work, you must lose that which you love the most. Your sisters
So we just gonna forget about the fact that in the first movie she literally says, "What a fool to give up thy life, for thy sisters." She did not give a shiz if it meant losing her sisters to preserve her own life.
I like how this isn't really a redemption. Winnie doesn't repent her evil or swear good or forsake her dark gains, she just refuses the price she paid. Its more a villian with a line then a redemption
Who’s to say that Winnie actually turned good in the end since it was a moment of weakness for her and her sisters and had to trust the girls since the main is now a Witch, if we do get a third movie i wonder if they’ll still be Evil but have a sweetspot for the girls that contradicts with their real intentions
Nobody finds it weird that people cried during that scene? They killed a bunch of kids. Also they could have just left salem considering they didn't like anyone except the one boy.
If there's a third movie I want to see these three new witches meet up with Dani, Allison and Max from the first movie. Seeing one of the original trio becoming a published and well-known authority on the history of witches in various cultures (not in a witch-hunter way, in a historian way as in the different forms of witches, the various beliefs surrounding witches depending on the time and the country, including beliefs around Hecate who I'm sure the girls talked about earlier in this movie) and an authority on the history of Halloween (all Hallows eve, Samhain, all souls day, any holiday and belief that eventually turned into what we now call halloween) - either the same person or another one of the original trio - but I can't decide which one, and for either Alison or Dani to be a witch - if a witch can sense another witch then it could still mean that Dani is a witch but since she was under 16 she hadn't come into her powers or they hadn't been activated yet so the Sanderson sisters didn't sense it with her, and it could also mean that Allison could be a with and that Winifred at least sensed something bout her on an unconscious level and that that was why she specifically used the words 'white witch' when mocking her. Just saying, could be interesting.
People call this movie dumb or stupid because they forget that it’s kinda supposed to be and what’s the crime of making it more light hearted towards the end hell it was light hearted to begin with
This ending made me tear up, my mom loved the first one, she’d watch it every halloween, and sing along with the movie, she died last august due to covid and i really think she would’ve liked this one too, i watched it for her, miss u mama.

Is there anyone else who cried?
The book crying was just tears
It's what's the mother witch also said to Wilfred and sisters when they were younger.
Winifred you should know, the spell; Magica Maxima can grant the user what it wants, but it comes at a price. In order for the spell to work, you must lose that which you love the most. Your sisters
Come little children
Guess we should've seen that coming - the similarities between their clothes and the Sanderson sisters clothes.....
So we just gonna forget about the fact that in the first movie she literally says, "What a fool to give up thy life, for thy sisters." She did not give a shiz if it meant losing her sisters to preserve her own life.
This is the first time I saw Sarah and Mary had their powers.
Hocus Pocus 2 - When witches went re-executed
Winifred wasn't heartless after all
When the book cried I was so close to do that as well 🥺🥺
As a straight guy, I almost cried when the sisters dissappear.
I like how this isn't really a redemption. Winnie doesn't repent her evil or swear good or forsake her dark gains, she just refuses the price she paid. Its more a villian with a line then a redemption
Coolest ending ever! OMG!!!!!!
they need to leave here. because that was a really good ending. still cry everytime i watch it
I hope there is a 3rd film still
Who’s to say that Winnie actually turned good in the end since it was a moment of weakness for her and her sisters and had to trust the girls since the main is now a Witch, if we do get a third movie i wonder if they’ll still be Evil but have a sweetspot for the girls that contradicts with their real intentions
Sisteeeerrsss!! 😭
Nobody finds it weird that people cried during that scene? They killed a bunch of kids. Also they could have just left salem considering they didn't like anyone except the one boy.
I have a feeling they’ll be back again because of the black candle .
Poor the Sanderson sisters
Redemption
Imagine uploading a video and cutting half the stuff out
To avoid copyright
People call this movie dumb or stupid because they forget that it’s kinda supposed to be and what’s the crime of making it more light hearted towards the end hell it was light hearted to begin with
