I enjoyed your review. I learned a couple of things I hadn’t heard in a couple other reviews I’ve watched. Will now go with the 720E based on your comparison. Thank you.
Thank you. I have been debating for a week with myself on whether I should get the HS720 or HS720E. Thanks you for explaining the significant difference between the two drones that I was unaware of until seeing your video. My decision is HS720E.
Thank you for your time and the review you did. Very helpful.. I just received my hs720 yesterday and while I was waiting for the battery to charge saw your video. Somehow the 720e escaped me in my searches, and after your video and watching a few more it is a no brainer that if you want good video then you need the image stabilization. However I did get my 720 on sale for $180 so the 720e is going to hurt a little at $280 but still I believe worth it. Thanks again.
Good Content Jeff. appreciate the effort you've put behind this. I got a HS 720E. Would like it if you explained in detail about the review/free battery part. TIA
Wow I just bought the 720 after watching many reviews. Accidently saw yours, immediately canceled my order and purchased the 720e. I was asking me if the video quality is really that bad in other reviews. That helped a lot! Also made a good deal in Germany on Amazon :)
I have also seen reviews stating props are visible on 720, not on 720e. I believe it, but the 720 is 110 degrees field of view with 130 on the 720e. The 720e must crop and widen the ratio height x width I guess. Amazon pricing right now puts them $40 apart (with adding 2nd battery to 720) so not as easy of a call as you had.
Well done and very informative. One minor point. Some people believe everything that they hear. At 3;00 you say the 720 has a 26 HOUR flight time. Obviously you misspoke. You did print a correction in post production. That's good. I'm glad I switched my order to the 720E. Your video confirms I made the right decision.
@@thrivans I'm totally new to this, I'm registered and live in a restricted fly zone so I do ask for clearance from the FAA to go up, but I am two blocks away from friends that are not in the restricted zone so I'm guessing being registered as a recreational pilot and staying below 400 feet I will be within the laws?
the hs720 has 26 min flight time the hs720e has 46 min flight time + image stabilization . I highly recommend the 720E over the 720 but if you're looking for as cheap as possible the 720 is still a great purchase
Now that I see you recorded this RUclips video 3 years ago, you were probably right when saying that the HS720 did not record video in 4k UHD, but the HS720 does record both photos and video in 4k UHD with the current models when a micro SD card is utilized, and also has image stabilization that works well. Thus, the HS720 appears to have undergone an upgrade at some point.
Made the same mistake, ordered the 720 as it said with image stabilisation...not realising it only came with one battery and the In uk costs £70.00, saved 30.00 by buying the 720e after cancelling 720 purchase 10 minutes after ordering. And comes with extra image stabilisation and other features.
Awesome Video Jeff. Please go over how to get the extra battery again. Who do I send the review to? Is it a review of the software or the drone itself? Thanks in advance.
For me, there was a pop-up when I first downloaded and opened the phone app. I clicked "Yes" and then they emailed me with instructions. I just had to do a review of the drone on Amazon and screenshot it and email it to them. They also required proof of purchase. If you didn't get the pop-up on the app, I would email their customer service. Good luck.
Thanks for the clarification Jeff and the advice. Looking forward to seeing some of your flights. Your video helped me decide to get the hs720e over the f11 pro gim.
Hi, Nice video. but you didn't talk about very important issue, I`m taking about on the 720 after every flight you land and you turn the drone off, The next time you want to fly again you have to go thru alllllll process of set up spinning 3 to the right and up and down Ect... That annoying, is the 720E the same? or ONE time setting and that it, Thank,
Mini 2 quite a bit more money but yeah, of course it’s better - you get what you pay for like everything else. 720e great value for the money no doubt.
Thanks Jeff. You answered a lot of questions that no one else is addressing. It appears this drone is getting close to the standard established with DJI several years ago for a substantial amount of savings. Personally, I use drones for mapping and creating digital elevation modeling, so I am interested in the Sony sensor and if it geotags the photos on the HS720E. The way to tell is by looking at the properties (metadata) of the still photos in Windows or iOS and seeing if there is an X and Y coordinate and elevation (in meters usually). Do you know if that is the case?
The biggest issue I find is all the ritualistic things you have to do to get airborne. I will have to write them down on the back of my hand so as not to forget one of the steps. Maybe that is typical of drones with all the capabilities it has.
Can you manually set the shutter speed, apeture and ISO on the phone app? Also, is it capable of spinning in one place? Was looking to see if you can use this drone to take some photos and stitch them together manually to produce some panorama shots. Also some HDR shots. Thanks.
You can set ISO, adjust brightness, saturation, white balance, but you cannot adjust shutter speed or aperture. It hovers in place very well. I have tested in a 10mph wind at ground level and it held position great. There is also an orbit setting. It will circle a point. You can adjust the orbit from 16 to 164 feet.

All that said I'm still of the option that these drones perform and look good despite the obvious. So for now I'll keep my fait hin Holy Stone.
