I'm only a couple minutes in, but the red flags with this project are fucking GLOWING. Their Kickstarter goal was only $10,000. Which probably wouldn't even cover a month of maintenance after the game is finished. A fully-destructible and also consistent world is a terrible idea for an MMO, since that's practically the only way to guarantee EVERY player gets griefed. "I was working at Google, Facebook, and Apple, and left to work on DreamWorld". Even if he misspoke and didn't mean that he worked for three companies at the same time, the fact that he namedrops three extremely big and familiar companies for credit without specifying what he even did when working for those companies makes it seem like he was just making it up. Also, who the fuck has the credentials to nail three big tech jobs, but quits for A KICKSTARTER PROJECT THAT'S ONLY ASKING FOR TEN GRAND?!
You should really take a look into Dual Universe. I wouldn't say its a GOOD game, but it is a game and it has a fully destructive consistent world. It has an extensive rights system to prevent griefing.
Like a programmer with such jobs would need 65k from kickstarter to start his own project... It should just be a couple months worth of savings for him.
Yeah for real. It would basically take an eternity to visit every planet in the game. I think when I stopped playing NMS back in 2019 I was a multi-trillionaire.

She looked like a lovely women definitely deserves a better guy than that scam artist
I did the math, 663 backed the game, they made 64,706 dollars of donations.
64,706 ÷ 663 = 97.59577677$ on average per backer.
Imagine spending 100$ on something that looks like this.
It was more likely a lot of $20 donations and a few $300+ donations
Re: bad Kickstarter-funded gemes
You clearly haven't heard of Project Wingman. Earned its goal and actually delivered an experience people like. A precious diamond in the rough.

Project Wingman started because some years ago the future of Project Aces and Ace Combat was not looking good so a guy literally wanted to create an Ace Combat on steroids and oh boy he did it. I love it. A true "Fine, i'll do it myself" moment.
Thank you for telling us about Project Wingman. Me and my roommate are long-time fans of Ace Combat, since Five, to be precise. This looks really cool, and you can actually use the gun?! Stellar!
Ayyy Project Wingman! I did bug hunting for the game throughout development and it was awesome to see it succeed, they absolutely deserve it. Fantastic game, and for $25 it's an absolute steal. Easily a $60 game
same can be said about Hollow Knight
"this will be the BIGGEST multiplayer game E V E R"
(has frame issues with 1 player)
in response to the person who said "it's only 64k, why are so many people covering this", the two creators Charlie watched (Josh Strife Hayes and KiraTV) cover mmos. This is a new mmo scandal, and one that had more developments than most scandals, as most scammy devs try to shut the hell up and run, or at least try to look legit. These devs did neither.
Agreed, although of course it’s interesting so they make more content on it, they are growing youtubers who literally talk about mmos. This is both their specialty and their niche. Plenty of their content covers regular games but they call out bad ones and scams too. Also josh strife hayes is full of british sass, is a really good speaker.
"It's only 64K" the person who said that is either naïve as shit or rich
@@podurt2557 Nah, it's 64k of idiots' money. It's like when Trump scams his followers. Yeah it's wrong, but like... who cares? It's not like we can forcefully save them from themselves. Caring is a waste of everyone's time; the idiots don't listen and everyone else knows better.
Those people only care about themselves that is why they don't care if the dev try to scam other people all they think about is to attack RUclips content creator
@@podurt2557 Difference between one organization and an entire subculture, but explaining things in RUclips comments is like trying to lead a horse to water and make it drink.
I have only ever backed one Kickstarter in my life. It was for John Clowder’s Where They Cremate The Roadkill, a really weird and really beautiful kind of art house RPG. John Clowder is known for his games Middens and Gingiva, the former being an open world RPG Maker title, and the latter being a more linear, story driven RPG. I backed the game for $200 and got a sick full page painting of the game’s rendition of Satan, a box of the games version of Tarot cards, my name displayed in the end credits along with the game itself. He released the game (albeit delayed) and it actually turned out pretty decent!
Every kick starter game scam “ we are creating a game where you can do absolutely ANYTHING, anything at all you can do it, 100%.”
