So those powder watercolors seem like so much fun and I'd love for you to share more art Miranda, using them! Like wet into wet techniques! I have the Ken Oliver color bursts and they are extremely intense!!! But like you said, so much fun!
Fun video! I think the best way to use brusho is shake it onto very wet paper to make your first layer of wet-on-wet. Great for variations in color for backgrounds, water, foliage. Seems like spraying it and/or blowing on it might cause the cleanup problem you mentioned! Although, maybe spraying once it's on wet paper should be less messy if it didn't spread enough.
I remember when you were organizing things into those deep dresser drawers, and something in the back of my head was like, hmmm, that might be difficult to deal with (not to mention get really heavy!) I can tell how reluctant you are to get in there now to start trying stuff. If there is one thing I've learned about my own brain, it's that how I store things is super tied to how likely I am to use them. For instance, I keep my bathroom much cleaner now since I started keeping a caddy of cleaning supplies right under the sink. And the opposite is true as well, if something is hard to get to, it's very unlikely I'll bother. This is why I keep my blocks/pads of paper on a box on their ends (spines showing like books) instead of a pile. So if your travel schedule ever slows down... you might treat yourself to some shallow drawers for your pile of stuff you want to try & do videos on! We're all excited to see you go into your older stash ❤
I tend to use Cat's tongue for a lot of my painting that requires any amount of detail. My current fave is the Silver Silk 88 synthetic brushes and mine is in size 6. It's my workhorse brush. I also love mops of all sizes as I love to paint clouds ☁️ and their fluffy roundness makes it easy to get that soft puffiness.
Your a very lucky lady! Generous friends too! I will be interested in the ShinHan gouache as I am still looking for my go to gouache brand! I have been happiest with the Schmincke Akedmie line and the 60ML tubes! but I have only found the set of 10 and I guess I am getting lazy in my dottage and just want more pre-mixed colors! The Schmincke Hordam gouache is more available, but so expensive as most Scmincke supplies are! Thanks for sharing your bounty with all of us. Please take care and enjoy your holiday's!
Thanks! I wish I had more colors to try out in the gouache. Perhaps I'll put that on my Christmas wish list, but I think my family has already bought for me, lol. I do have several brands to try out here in the studio, though, and I'm going to get to them in January possibly. Maybe February. Should be fun!
One of the most beautiful burnt oranges in watercolor that I've ever seen is Daniel Smith Aussie Red Gold. It's not red or gold...it's just a vivid burnt-ish orange that I think, outshines any of the quinacridone gold's out there. I saw someone gushing over it on a YT vid one time so I had to have it and was not disappointed.
A friendly tip: For American English speakers, the last vowel of Schmincke sounds sort of similar to the last vowel in “Rebecca” (Schminckuh) and NOT similar to Schminkee or Schminkay. It’s not an exact vowel pronunciation match from German to English, but it’s a decent approximation. I think Casein is pronounced in the US as “kay-SEEN, accent on the SEEN. Thanks for showing us goodies!
A. Gallo have come out with their watercolor tubes! Not buying any right now. One of the paints I was interested in (olive green deep) isn’t currently available in tube form. I’ll wait…. 😊
. Oh no now I have to get the Rembrandt Indigo! I shall be strong and wait until you do your test again .UPDATE: PoohPooh markers here. Ready for coloring book!
I'll send you some! You might have to remind me. I tried the coloring book with alcohol markers today and it was great! I'll try the PoohPooh markers tomorrow. ❤️
The moment when I see the Cretacolor pencils at 2:41 and some vague memory pops into my mind... quickly checking my drawer of art supplies... oh yes, I bought these years ago.. and yes, I haven't touched them since. 🥲
❤
🥇
it's fascinating to see how each product looks on the different papers 🥰
That was a fun way to do it.

I'd love to play with them more!
This was very therapeutic, love the colours!
It was great to see all these nice swatches! I love the Rembrandt Indigo! Thanks for sharing!
I looked today and it's a new one for me. Yea!
That was great fun!
What an enjoyable video. I love watching colours being put on the page.
I'm glad because I like it too!
That midnight violet powder was insane! 😂 So many lovely goodies to swatch, thank you for showing them all. 😊❤
I was surprised at how vibrant it was! 😅

Yes, all fun ways and some more messy than others, lol.

I hear you! I have a list of what's in the drawer at least, so I don't have to dig through it to know what's in there, but it's still daunting!
@@MirandaWatsonArt Oh good I'm glad you have it inventoried!

What a fun assortment of products to unbox and swatch. Beautiful colors and the Schminke granulating watercolors left me wanting them 😍
They really are so pretty and fun to play with!
@@MirandaWatsonArt I think I’ll end up collecting some slowly. I’ll be thinking of you when I play around with them lol

Thank you so much for those pronunciation tips!
I love sennelier Chinese orange
I looked and I don't have it already! Nor did I have the Indigo! So fun!
The Schmincke red is a special edition they don't produce any more! How lucky you are!
Very lucky! She's a generous friend. ❤️

Ooooh, that's so exciting! Now for Roman Szmal to do the same...
@ 👍👍❤️❤️
PR207 is noticeably more red than PR209. PR209 has that pinky-peachy undertone that PR207 lacks.
Yes. This one was closer than some others. Both beautiful!
@ Indeed!

You’re welcome 😊 Thank you for watching!
@ My pleasure!

Hahaha, I get it. 🤣 Who knows, I probably have these in a drawer already, too. I'll know when I go to put these away...
@MirandaWatsonArt 🥲🥰
