Love that Missy figured this out fast. Running the household is not her responsibilities alone. Everyone who lives there should do their fair share.
That scene with Missy and Georgie taking on adulthood so young is actually really sad!! I’m glad Missy stepped down a bit, but it’s still sad that her brother has a a family to care for at such a young age. Everyone in this family (parents included) lost their childhood so fast.
Well, noone made Georgie have (possibly) unprotected sex and lie to her about her age (which would have prevented said sex). It's his own doing, and 19 is very young sure, but not really a child. Missy has only been doing it for weeks so it doesn't constitute ''losing childhood'' and George Sr was in his 20s when they had Georgie (he's a bit older than Mary)

The huge irony is this is what the mom and dad should have been having the kids do all these years. That's the whole reason for having kids, so they can do chores while they're growing up. Now it takes one of the kids to see how important it is to have some help around the house!! IRONIC

Missy is getting a small taste of what her mom had to go through for years. And her mom had it worse because she had to deal with a daughter who destroyed her gifts, treated everyone in her family badly, and ran away from home. She can only imagine how her mom felt

To be fair we don't know if Missy kids were any better
I think that's unfair on missy. She felt neglected by everyone because they were too busy with themselves or Sheldon or Georgie. Missy felt invisible. Raising children isn't just about washing their clothes and feeding them.
Also Mary gave birth to her children and George had a job too which enabled her to be able to look after the family. Missy stepped up despite having no reason to - meemaw, George, Mandy's parents, even Georgie are older than her so should be helping her out. She's a minor and should be focusing on her school work. I think she's right to be frustrated and confused as to why she's the one doing everything. She's too young to have all of this on her own shoulders. Children shouldn't have to deal with adult problems.

@@GaslightingIsEvil Yes, I'm sure Missy was invisible when Mary took her to get her hair done, or when George took her to Red Lobster, or when all the adults in the family helped her out with baseball, or when Mee Maw bandaged her up and taught her how to shave, or when her dad taught her how to drive. Those are interesting ways to ignore people.
Her stepping up when she shouldn't have to is pretty cool, but it doesn't make me forget about 6 years of evil behavior from her
