Thanks for this video! Wolfe is one of my favorite authors, and so great to find this! I even keep an old 1939 book of excerpts (also has really nice kind of Art Deco illustrations too), from all of his books at my bedside. I love the poetry of his words!

I consider him one of the top novelists on my list. I was very young when I started to read his book, "Look Homeward..." and discovered he had died, I cried. I keep thinking of how much his readers have missed because of his early death.

@@patclara2 Hi Patclara2! You must be some kind of genius to very young read and like Thomas! A favorite nonfiction writer, Loren Eiseley ("The Immense Journey" and many other books) I love the poetry and wisdom of his words too, and he was like you as a child, read voraciously like Shakespeare and many works. Usually, I think, kids don't relate to the longer sentences and a lot of description, like you so amazingly did. I have trouble reading somehow, but I do. I strangely like writing more than reading ha! That is probably why none of my stuff was published. I love description and the poetry of words. At different writers groups 3 people separately said I reminded them of Thomas. Only very few writers can write like long descriptions and sentences like Thomas that and still attract readers... just my amateur opinion. When I was writer in residence the foundation director told me when he worked for the OCS (predecessor to the CIA?) during WWII and just before that his greatest accomplishment was getting Thomas safely out of Nazi Germany.

Yeah, I like the way it says the title of the book. I can't tell if it's a command or a question.
      "Look homeward . . . Angel!"
      or
      "Look homeward . . . Angel?"
What's that in the road, a head?
