Donia is excellent. Bancone is good pasta. I also like Flour & Grape. And Gordon’s Wine Bar is a treasure…all great recommendations! A few of my favorites: since you’re big on Italian, I love Trullo in Islington. Excellent food, stand-out pastas. Quality Chop House in Farringdon. The mangalitza pork croquet is one of the best single bites of food in the capital. Noble Rot….the seafood, in particular, is stellar. I usually go to the one in Shepherd Market, but I also love the original in Lambs Conduit Street. Berenjak in Romilly street for Persian. Mangal 2 on Stoke Newington Rd for Turkish. The wild muntjac biryani at Gymkhana in Mayfair. Roast suckling pig at Sabor just off Regents Street. Hand-pulled noodles at Xi’an Impression in Highbury. Normah’s for Malaysian in Queensway Market. The Drapers Arms in Islington for Sunday Roast. London truly is a food wonderland.
