I love Oxford which is so much more than Harry Potter. There is the Eagle and Child pub where J R R Tolkien (Lord of the Rings) and C S Lewis (Narnia) authors met with other Inklings. The Alice tea rooms commemorates Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Oxford is also the ‘home’ of Inspector Morse and Sargent then Inspector Lewis - both found in the books by Colin Dexter and excellent television series. (Along with the Morse prequel, Endeavour). In fact the Randolph Hotel, where you had tea, has a number of mementos from the filming of these three series on display.
A very nice view of the day, I'm glad you all had a good time. Then of course we have the jam or cream first on a scone debate. The good news is there is no debate, it's obviously jam first!
Real weird seeing Oxford and recognising all the spots lol. Never been punting though! My brother studied at Christchurch so he took our family on a bunch of free tours around the place, his old bedroom even made a cameo in the background
Nice video. I am guessing that Heather was at Oxford, which is one of my favourite places in the UK. Maybe one day she will let you try controlling the punt. And Windsor Long Walk is a wonderful walk and offers a glorious vista so both places were great choices for your Mom's trip.
Good filming, and nice background music. You also pack in quite an itinerary compared to other tourists who don't get to experience half of what you guys got up to. Mother should be pleased.!!
you and heather is just great togher. wishing all the best together. and very true outside london is amazing. having lived in bristol for a time, england do have some lovley green spaces
So it's only taken me almost 12 months to discover this post, glad your mum had wonderful time. Have to see if I can find your sojourn to Scotland, loved your mum's tie dye top very much in my wheelhouse.
Loved tagging along on your trip. Although it's a very small island there is so many new places to take your mum to on future visits. Does your mum understand yet why you wanted to live in the UK and leave 'the best country in the world'?
I already liked the Dudes videos I've seen. But he's gone even higher in estimatation when I saw , The Lovely Heather. 😍 What a lovely Lady .you look a Lovely couple. and you Mum is a very nice Lady as well.
You need to take your mother (or Heather) round Savile Garden/Virginia Water. The parking is criminal but there are parakeets and it's a lovely walk or cycle ride.
@@evan Cheers... I have been hearing great things about it for quite a while now, so will give it a go. I live on the Piccadilly Line in North London, so can easily visit Kings Cross, Covent Garden, Soho or even the Shoreditch branch quite easily. 👍
I was a security officer at Oxford university for a few years and got access to everywhere. It was great except for the suicidal cyclists who took great pleasure in cutting across the front of my patrol van.
The section they are punting on is the River Cherwell, going south from the Magdalen Bridge Boathouse, but to confuse things the River Thames is known from source to Dorchester where it meets the River Thame as The Isis, and especially so in Oxford.
My word! For years I have been settled in the opinion that you were one of those folk just not that interested in the romantic side of human existence ... and then I stumble across ... this! Your lady is elegantly wonderful, so it is just as well you have taken British citizenship otherwise I would have to harangue you for stealing one of 'our' ladies :D
You and Heather are fabulous. Cheers to a long and loving time with each other!!! Also, your mom is so much like my own mom it's.....uncanny. Lol.
As a mother and a grandmother you are wonderful to your mother. She raised you right as we say in the South.

I just discovered your channel this month and I love your content! Brilliant stuff.

Precisely. Cream's not dense enough to be the base.

I've seen that dining hall vibe in oxbridge colleges i visited/interviewed at and in public and private schools I worked at for summer camps.
Good filming, and nice background music.
You also pack in quite an itinerary compared to other tourists who don't get to experience half of what you guys got up to.
Mother should be pleased.!!
Just found Evan’s channels and really enjoying them!
having grown up around oxford its always so weird to see the tourist perspective of it
you and heather is just great togher. wishing all the best together. and very true outside london is amazing. having lived in bristol for a time, england do have some lovley green spaces
The videos you've posted with your mum are always fun, she's really nice. Hope she enjoyed her stay.
Please come to Wales to see our magnificent castles!
Should have gone to Runneymead when in Windsor, an acre of Britain given to America, in Memory of JFK. It's also where the Magna Carta was signed.
Nice to see new vlogs! Great video for a Sunday ❤️☕
that was all very pleasant and civilised

some one let Evan out side London... how did that happen!?
Loved tagging along on your trip. Although it's a very small island there is so many new places to take your mum to on future visits. Does your mum understand yet why you wanted to live in the UK and leave 'the best country in the world'?
😂😂 best country in the world, people outside the US really don’t think that.
9th largest island in the world
A good time was had by all...very calming video.
I think Heather is punting from the Cambridge end....
I already liked the Dudes videos I've seen. But he's gone even higher in estimatation when I saw , The Lovely Heather. 😍 What a lovely Lady .you look a Lovely couple. and you Mum is a very nice Lady as well.
I was told they punted from inside the boat in Oxford? Hmmm Guess that’s what happens when first punting experience was in Cambridge…
Your Mom is lovely ❤
Dishoom is excellent especially the black dhall

I like your mom's tie dye shirt [Thumbs up!]
Great video. Have to mention should be jam first, then cream on the scone!
Yeah Windsor my home town ( well I grew up there) I was actually from Old Windsor near the Great Park.
Its crochet not knitting on top of the post box
I think i may have heard an American say "saddleback riding" before lol
Outside shots of Oxford used in Morse and in Lewis tv shows.
So cool to see a different side of heather's personality when she's explaining yarn-bombing to your mom!
Jam on scones first, then cream
Evan, where were you when having that curry at the end? It looked very tasty! Do tell please...
Dishoom!

Well, at Oxford. I wonder if you have ever watched the British TV series "Yes, Minister" and "Yes, Prime Minister". The best political satire.
Evan's mom looks more like Evan than Evan looks like Evan.
Cream first dream tea team FTW
NOOOooooo! Jam first. What are you teaching that poor woman?!
I thought Evan said hunting 😂
key thing is...did they get on?
I heard an unsubstantiated rumour that that form of sweetie sales is actually pronounced "money laundering"
That's the American Candy shops largely in London. Traditional sweet shops are usually small family businesses.
very fun!
nope, JAM FIRST!
5:07. Isn’t it Filch on the right?😂
Tie dye? Should have taken mum to Glastonbury town.
This was so fun to watch… But your mom needs to get off her phone and enjoy her surroundings!!
she takes notes on the photos she takes so she can remember better :)
I was a security officer at Oxford university for a few years and got access to everywhere. It was great except for the suicidal cyclists who took great pleasure in cutting across the front of my patrol van.
Just "riding"
how comfortable is your Herman Miller?
very!
I always do one half cream on first, the other jam on first. That way there are no. International disagreements!
Is it the Avon river?
Thames or perhaps Cherwell. Avon is at Stratford (on Avon). Plus there are assorted other river Avons (I think it’s an old Celtic word for river).
The section they are punting on is the River Cherwell, going south from the Magdalen Bridge Boathouse, but to confuse things the River Thames is known from source to Dorchester where it meets the River Thame as The Isis, and especially so in Oxford.
Wearing a hat indoors at the Randolph Hotel… goodness me.
We say riding. What else do you ride?
I like your Mum

Cream before jam 😮😮😮😮
Why did you let her put the cream on first?
EE 33. What is the Agenda with linking the U.S. and the U.K. on loads of YT videos in the last few years?
Jam first!!!
1:35 in and ads ? Nah.
youtube
Harry Potter never attended Oxford, did he?! Did he?!
Lyra did.
Heather's so.posh!
Evander your girl is absolutely stunning. Well done man. What is your secret?
Sex in a punt is like American beer
Few will know that joke which is something about being near water.
@@nedludd7622 F*cking close to water
Is she also demisexual?
I think Cambridge is much nicer than Oxford.
I honestly agree! But Oxford was closer to everything :)
I've been to Oxford a few times, but Cambridge has eluded me so far.
Nah, Oxford for me, more history.
You're heterosexual? When did this happen?
