-Excellent Service
-Excellent views of the lake, mountain, or surrounding area
-Restaurants on property are all excellent
Cons:
-The area near the hotel did not seem to have that many quality food options

Wonderful! This is truly one of the best hotels in the world!!! I believe the Onsen is for use with no swimwear but I don’t think they check.

What is there to do in Nikko?

Honestly not that much. We mostly just relaxed and ate at the hotel. You can walk along the lake. I also think there’s a hiking path just near the hotel. I would call the hotel to ask about other activities.

That’s awesome! When I was just in New York in December I stayed at the New Ritz Carlton Nomad and it got a perfect score. I chose it over the Ritz Carlton in Central Park and the St. Regis, because it was brand new. Those other properties are I’m sure nice it’s just the rooms in my opinion are looking dated/ not wow enough. But I wouldn’t mind checking them out in the future. Let me know how you like them.

@@gogotravelwithjosh btw for St Regis NY lobby you will definitely get wow. Maybe not the modern contemporary wow but luxurious wow with gold finishes and lots of classic art pieces. It is the first hotel opened in NY by Jacob Astor. I also read later that he was the victim in Titanic and his wife was a survivor. It definitely got lots of histories.
