Music video by Manic Street Preachers performing Show Me The Wonder. (C) 2013 Sony Music Entertainment UK Limited Видеоклипы
This band is so underrated here in a America. Love Manic Street Preachers.
Keri Kidd i think they were percieved as anti-american because of the song 'ifwhiteamericatoldthetruthforonedayitsworldwouldfallapart' when its the all comsuming capitalist system that chews up and spits out the masses they hate. all the best from the u.k.
+Kris Charlton They've done a lot of consumption though, haven't they?!
conspicuos consumption, in the best tradition of the who and jimi hendrix.
@@edwardburroughs1489 "We are nothing if not hypocrites"-MSP
Spread the word!
what a fucking tune. bradfield said he knocked it up in about ten minutes. he wanted to evoke 70's era elvis. excellent.
agreed, works well with James' fat-Elvis period
I was an extra in this video. Amazing song the guys were also really nice
what minute ??
I believe she is seen at 2:29 . A Beauty, anyway.
I've fallen out of love with many bands, but the Manics have always been a constant for me and this song again has made me fall in love with them over again! Awesome!
''We may write in English, but our truth remains in Wales.''
Seriously, what an awesome, awesome fucking band.
+Michael Mitchell what a line pure genius!!
Agreed
MSP a wonder of the world we live in, musically and lirically speaking
So why don't they sing in Welsh?
I am proud as a human being to love this band since I ever began to really appreciate music. I am Swedish but live in France and if now I'm studying the welsh language it's partly thanks to those guys. I've always loved Wales though, my dream is to grow old and die on that proud soil of angels and heroes! Forever Cymru!
Best music video they've done for a few years. Love the guys all have different facial hair. Wonderful song, very uplifting. The Manics are back!
Manic Street Preachers are still a top band, way ahead of their time. This is such a lovely and uplifting song. The video is equally gorgeous with two soul mates finding each other, so beautiful. Been playing this uplifting since yesterday to get me through the miserable January blues.
Kudos to the Manics for taking chances on each of their albums. As much as I wanted this to be a clone of one of their other albums, they've made a reflective acoustic album that is great for fall time weather. Not a Saturday night album, but rather a Sunday night one.
Why haven't more people liked this genius?
I could loop this for hours and hours and hours.
Them trumpets again. I love it.
Impossible not smiling! I don't care if it's only a pop song. It makes me :) and it's a good sensation in these troubled times. So thanks Manics and that's all.
James really knows how to sing... So goood
I m literally listening for this guys for the first time and I already love them. Such a good music.
I've read a few reviews and they're very positive.
Had so much fun filming this
Oh, reminds me of my old days... Great song and footage... Nostalgic!
I only just realised that the girl is the same one from the Anthem for a Lost Cause video. So presumably these guys got together and got married, and then it all went to shit, which is just heartbreaking. But on a lighter note, she was clearly a hardcore Manics fan, hence all the glitter
I know what you mean. As a woman trade unionist and a person who likes wearing glitter make up to clubs, it's a really nice visual.
"The sound of the valleys"
Great band..I'm sure growing up in South London was not a lot different to growing up in South Wales..great parents & the Library opened my mind to reading
Er... quite different actually mate. Wales is a great place full of amazing friendly people and...
Love this guy's voice
Don't know clearly why, usually I listen to a lot harder music, but this song is so freaking catchy! I can't stop myself from listening over and over and over...!
Such a cheery Manics song!
These guys made me incredibly proud to be Welsh.
pray for the silence when we look into the mirror
what a line
Good song. Great film. Oh to be 18 again. In the seventies. At a pub disco, pints of bitter, dancing with a girl you've just met. Stick me in that groundhog day for ever.
should have been a huge hit
Did anyone notice the reference to Talking Heads or is it just me? "Is heaven a place where nothing ever happens?"
JDB can do no wrong in my eyes. He's a fucking genius.
Love this video, what a band!
We are hidden, Life for Manic Street Preachers....It sounds like chamber pop...
The Manics have always been about making something bright and euphoric out of something dark and melancholic. In that sense they are the same band they ever were, but maturing over time. Love this track as much as I loved Faster at the time and Motown Junk at the time.
Still the most euphoric pop song of 2013...
Glitter glitter everywhere x
Richard Hawleys 60s vibe is stamped all over this-no matter what people say this is great Manics
no sell out james this is the best you have done
Get's addictive this record.
I still love this song, a classic by The manics.
Love Manics. This is Manic that meet Dexy's Midnight Runners.
I met the legend that is Nicky Wire in Oxford Street HMV this morning, let us take photos with me and the girlfriend, totally down to earth if not a little tired from the night before I guess.
Hey. Hello from Hong Kong! Heard this on six musik yesterday and absolutely loved it! Have now listened to it at least 30 times! Awesome, A real return to form. Hands up if you saw them at Wolverhampton Civic Hall in 1994?.....
\
September cannot come soon enough!
I always love this band!
I unconditionally love Sean's beard :D
simple and so touchy song
Best WELSH band ever Cymru am byth always . Shared on twitter and many more sites too this is our favourite WELSH band ever as my hubby is from the Rhonda
This is no threat
Just an invitation
A sense of belonging
A sense of inspiration
Is heaven a place
Where nothing ever happens
Is it too much to ask
To disbelieve in everything
Show me the wonder
I have seen the birthplace of the universe
Show me the wonder
I have seen their records move in reverse
If you're exiled
By all the cruel tongues
Then show me the wonder
The wonder of your love
A tapping pain of madness
Running through their veins
We may write in English
But our truth lays in Wales
Show me the wonder
I have seen the birthplace of the universe
Show me the wonder
I have seen their records move in reverse
Praying for the silence
When we look in to a mirror
Stained so patient
We measure the nostalgia
Is heaven a place
Where nothing ever happens
Is it too much to ask
To disbelieve in everything
Show me the wonder
I have seen the birthplace of the universe
Show me the wonder
I have seen their records move in reverse
Show me the wonder
Show me the wonder
I have seen their records move in reverse
Bands 'grow up' and a great band will change their sound as its members grow older. Same thing happened to Teenage Fanclub when they released 'Shadows' a couple years ago. Mellow yes, but still Teenage Fanclub. This is song still feels like a Manics song, just from an older, wiser, and more mature band.
Welcome back Boys. Being a huge fan I clicked this with wonder and withing 30 seconds I got the "unique" sound that you produce that will and never has leaved me for the last 16 years (since I've been a fan). Always a special band to me, God, James.... you are in my top 5 singers of all time amongst Freddie, Chris Cornell, Celine.... So glad you're back...and keep coming back. I'll be getting your tour tickets for Glasgow when it comes!!! GBTM
amazing. masterpiece.
Se non ci fossero bisognerebbe inventarli!!! Favolosi
You're right. They aren't angry and more. This is really reflective and nostalgic and I'm sure it's exactly what they wanted.
They do what they want and go in any direction they want, but I think this is one step I can't take with them.
Alot of people clearly don't appreciate what the Manics have achieved in evolving over the years. A fantastic song, the people bagging it clearly don't have the capacity to understand the message which Wire is trying to get across. Oh and James's vocals sound just as great as they ever did!
Gus Honeywood , very true ! I have grown up with them (now 33 ) and they are just superb !
Best manics vid since tolerate an grace of God
Fantastic track. I have driven my husband mad with this. Singing it around the house, humming it while working. Can't wait for the new album, all pre-ordered and counting the days now.
Fantastic - can't wait for the new album!!!
Fantastic! Really looking forward to hearing the rest of the album.
Lovely video of good times, and not a mobile phone in sight!
Brilliant video...the whole look is fab
So they've changed their sound, doesn't mean it isn't good. Change is good sometimes, this is good!
this is really really catchy. I have ALWAYS loved manic street preachers. They will always be my favourites.
I am officially obsessed with this song! 3 times yesterday, 4 today. Singing some of the lyrics throughout the day. It is a great song though. Sept 15th can't come soon enough for me, the Manics are my all time favourite band
Number 4 that's good enough, another top 5 album for them.
Everything they do is brilliant! Love them. :)
so underrated!
Lifeblood!
I love this retro 70s video😍🥰
Bellissimo video, Grande gruppo
finally a new song by manic street preachers !!!! wonderful song !!!! 10000000000 likes
CLASSICMANICS... Manics selalu Bagus!!!
Wish this club was real, so badly.
Sometimes I forget that this same band plays a couples of songs like "faster" and "archives of pain", anyway they do beautiful music like this one
They were a different band, literally, when they did those songs. Richey was in the band, grunge was huge. The Holy Bible came out at the same time as Nirvanas In Utero. Cobain and Richey are both dead now. In many ways The Holy Bible is a long suicide note in song. It's one of the darkest albums I've ever owned, so bleak. The band couldn't have have carried on writing and performing such songs. Those songs have very dark, psychologically devastating effects. That album speaks so much of the the fear, horror and misanthropy of Richeys tormented soul. The bands follow up album 'Everything Must Go' speaks volumes about how they saw their future after Holy Bible and Richeys disappearance.
@@jackmolay7061 you're absolutely right. They even don't like to play THB live and rarely do it, because of its content, I think
Fantastic video. We love the Manics xx
The manics will always have a place in my record collection.....All bands when they get famous become too commercial and poppy because the ideas run out and once they have a massive fan base most people will buy anything they release, but live the manics are brilliant......
Love this song,, seen them in the Newport arena the other week and they were amazing,, keep it up maniacs xxxx
Was dissappointed in this song at first - I love the more melodic Manics, their last album in particular was wonderfully crafted, but this seemed TOO smooth... on further listens however, I am actually loving it - one of their most insanely catchy choruses ever, great vocals as always... yeah, fallin in love with this song already
Manic Street Gods!
everything is technology?step back in time to any south wales valley in the 70,s/80,s,friday night out with the boys, saturday out with the girlfriend/misses(sometimes both)hardworking people with money in the arse pocket just out for an escape from the particular industry they were involved in, i must say they captured it perfectly, never be like that again?who knows?industry gone over 20 years but community,s still here, were still fighting, just like the manics they keep evolving.
Absolutely brilliant song......
Fantastic song they keep
Love this one
A working class hero is something to be! Love the Manics......true socialists, an inspiration. This song and video represent an ideal.
Jack Molay spot on Jack,
Finally!!! Great song!
Beautiful song!
Love this song and video!
love this song
a miracle song!
bloody love this song
Great new manics song and video. Looking forward to new album and cant wait to see them in London in september.
Great song
The Manics have evolved - AWESOME!
Love it.Been a Manics fan for years & seen them live more than any other band. A thumbs up from me. Roll on the new album!!!
Fabulous..
Lifeblood was different, and if you listen to it now it hasn't dated. Which is good!
Great tune, awesome one to belt out the words to in your bedroom
Welcome back, lads.
I remember James and Nicky talking to the guys on Sunday Brunch some years ago about how its time to move on. Working away in their Cardiff Studio this album has been two years in the making. Im really excited about them moving on to some new music rather than being tempted by the old Lyrics left by Ritchie. It will take time for some of the new tracks to strike accord but this is the Manics today and not Yesterday. Looking forward to the album.
Love this video!
You couldn't be more wrong. They usually do a pretty even spread, even when promoting an album, and they've still got the energy they had when they started.
Saw them at the o2 when they did all their singles and they made even the less good songs sound amazing. Best live band I've seen ;)
First time I have heard this song, really good
Absoloutly brilliant KOOL
