i love circling back to these "old" recordings from turnpike. saw them live for the first time ever a week ago here in vegas and loved it. such a solid band. they sure make listening to country music easy.
Probably the least known and underrated real country music band in America right now. These guys have been my favorites for a long time. Hope to see more of them again soon.

Leland Lawrence also turnpike was the coolest show I’ve ever seen. I saw them San Louis Obispo, California at the Fremont. We got there expecting some nobody to open for them and it was Jason Boland! We were like WHAT lol they also shred live. As you can see^^^

When she sounds so surprised when she asks why he moved back to his hometown when the town is so small is typical big city arrogance. I don’t think some people have a real sense of what home is. I just recently moved back to my hometown of 2600 people and would be perfectly happily living the rest of my life here.
Totally understand.... My town is a little bigger than yours (18,000) but I've never wanted to live anywhere else. I've lived in 2 houses, my childhood home and the house I live in now.
As someone who moved from the city to the country (like way out, I live 20 minutes outside a town of 300 people), I think everyone in urban areas should spend a year living in rural areas, and vice versa. You learn a lot switching places.
Some people will never understand, they just dont get it. Living there entire lives in a concrete jungle. Hank Jr. said it best with "A Country Boy Can Survive".
These guys are so talented! True poets that can ride with “The Greats”! One can feel his emotions in his voice and to portray that sentiment with instrumental accompaniment is an exceptional gift! It’s a gift they have and a gift that we are able to experience it! ❤️

It is too bad this band has never seemed to be able to rise to the top level of Americana music let alone country music. They are such a talented group of true musical artists. That they aren't at the top of country music shows how artistically bankrupt the commercial music industry is.
Americana is a joke. Country is controlled by Nashville who only seem to have set their eyes on profit at the moment. If you look at the top 10 country music artists right now around 75% are practically pop artists.
