I've been to England and this replica really fooled me at first, lol! At first, I really thought you went back to England only after returning here recently. Yes, China embraces what is beautiful, even when England does not always paint China in a positive light.
This small town has British characteristics, the streets are very clean, and people are dressed in fashion, which is amazing. I didn't expect Shanghai to have such a multiculturalism. I've been to America before, the streets are so dirty and full of homeless people. , Western media's negative reports on China turned out to be lies. Thanks Barrett reports.

Lol. No need to go overseas for an authentic experience of an English country town! Also like 👍 the way you sounded so impressed with your experience of this place!

In fact in many places of China, wedding photographing happens two times. The first happens before the wedding day just like Lee said. And the second happens on the wedding day, afternoon usually.
Lord Byron- Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know. We hope to go to Shanghai in a couple of weeks and Thamestown looks worth a day out. How do you find your way round? Think I'd like to try their fish and chips. The place reminded me a bit of Lichfield.
Nice! I went to Shanghai for the first time 4-5 years ago and wasn’t aware of this place but I did visit the French concession area which was also nice 👍 man that platter of fish and chips look delish. Maybe they were reeling the fish from the sea for you so that’s why it took longer 😂
They should serve the fish and chips on paper, instead of a board. Should also serve English breakfast with Yorkshire puddings, afternoon tea with buttered scones, clotted cheese, variety of little sandwiches and cakes. And copious amounts of English tea. Sunday roasts. Those are traditionally English food, but English are more likely to eat kebabs, curries or takeaways.
A Brit asking if Tudor style buildings are Tudor!?!? 😂 My late Son was there in 2018 during a holiday…there were a lot more people and when he FaceTimed me at about 5am my time, he said “hey MUM, on my way to the pub with Angie!” And he panned his phone around. I was SO confused..😂. He’d backpacked through the UK & Ireland a few years earlier. But I thought he was to stay in China..with a few trips to Nepal, until 2019. He was there in Thames City. 😂. I will say, he was NOT impressed by the supposedly “British” food. I think they ended up at a small Chinese restaurant.
"When we two parted In silence and tears, Half broken-hearted To sever for years, Pale grew thy cheek and cold, Colder thy kiss; Truly that hour foretold Sorrow to this …" from Lord Byron the fish swam in the water while they were still alive. Now they swim in fat. 😁😁I'm having a glass of cider right now, but from Normandy. Cheers
How could you don’t see any British foot prints in any spot of the world? Since you are in Shanghai, the place closed to the bund used to be the infamous British concession beside French concession where it was full of British Colonial or Empire style buildings that’s why Shanghai gives the tourist a western style of vibes always. The British Concession or Settlement was a foreign enclave (a "concession") in Shanghai within the Qing Empire which existed from around 1845 until its unification with the American area, located directly north of it across Suzhou Creek (Soochow Creek) to form the Shanghai International Settlement in 1863. The settlement was bordered at north by the right bank of Suzhou Creek before it flows into the Huangpu River, at east by the Huangpu, and at south by a channel, the Yangjing Bang (Yang-King-Pang, now Yan'an Road), which would be the future boundary with the French Concession. The British did not only occupied Hongkong, they occupied Shanghai much earlier while HK was just a fishing village. Every one can have a piece of China, the great sick man of the east, small colonists from even Belgium or Portugal. The British occupied Shanghai during the First Opium War and it was opened to foreign trade by the terms of the Treaty of Nanking.
Byron is a major poet of the Romantic period (19th century) and a great champion of freedom. He died in Greece, where he'd gone to fight for Greek independence from the Ottoman Empire.
New this wasn’t England from the get go, just no litter and graffiti 🤣 but to be fair they have got the mock Tudor look down quite well. Out of curiosity Lee do you lose weight in China and has Oliver gained weight since being back ?
