Just installed the ATAK axle back on my 2013 2ss/rs. It is absolutely phenomenal. A huge improvement from stock, and it's only the axle back. - And no, it does NOT void your warranty.
Have an ATAK system coming for my 2012 2SS. Should be here Friday. Can't wait. I've had their Stinger system on two C5 Vettes and their standard catback (with the tuning plates) on two 4th gen f-bodies. Love Borla exhaust!
The whole point of an exhaust is for both performance and exhaust notes. As he stated earlier in the video, you will see performance gains. When you straight pipe a car, you would think it's actually going to increase the performance with less restrictions, but straight piping can actually decrease performance.
Run 2.25 pipe from the down stream exhaust (true dual) add cherry bomb glasspacks in the mid section and don't forget some short 4" chrome exhaust tips. It's what the Chevy SSR guys use on their exhaust.
Wow what an Amazing job these guys have done... I think all I need is the Touring... but they all sound amazing... This is a really great video for showing off what they have done... Just Awesome, I'm sold... Love this video...
Borla mufflers sound great.thats probably the only muffler I would run on my Shelby other than a Corsa,or MagnaFlow. I would install Flowmaster mufflers on a big block Chevy or big block Ford engine.
I just bought the borla atak axle back and I wanted to know if I should leave stock resonantors on or get a x pipe and also would removing renosators create drone?
I have the Atak on my 2018 V6 Camaro. It sounds amazing and it will actually light the tires up now where it didn’t with the stock muffler. It definitely opened it up and gave it more low end torque. Was it worth the 715 bucks I paid for it? Maybe maybe not but like I said, the sound is amazing!
i still cant decide between the s type and the atak. i like the sound of the s type but the atak is louder. i want to go with the atak but the s type sounds deeper and not as crackilly as the atak. atleast it does on camra. can you give me a little more information on those two
@TRX450vsYFZ450 This is from Borla's web site: NO. It will not void your warranty. Some cars even have BORLA systems as the OEM exhaust. All of our street Cat-Backs™, Rear Sections and Mufflers are 50-state emissions legal. In fact, it is illegal for a dealer to deny you the OE warranty because you have changed the exhaust system. If your vehicle manufacturer fails to honor emission/warranty claims, contact EPA at (202) 260-2080
They sound quieter on the Camaro. I like the Atak on the Camaro, it's like the S-type on the Mustang. The S-type on Mustang is louder then the Camaro's.
We looked at the atacks as well as Corsa extremes, but decided on SLP loudmouths and are the best bang for the buck. Not because they are half price of the others, but they are lighter and isn't much to them. So it reflects the price and are not overly engineered, as they are a simple design and like that about them. They sound every bit as good as the others, but do have a little drone because of the elimination of the resos. They basically consists of 3" with open chamber racing bullets, and sound killer on its 6.1. All that you have to do to tame the drone is, change up the RPMs a little and it goes away. It's not a daily, so it's no big deal and doesn't bother me anyway
So by this guys sales pitch, if you take your cats off if you're building custom exhaust, do an engine swap, they're not going to be able to figure out which Muffler to sell you? I'm sold, Flowmaster it is.
Whats NOT said is what type of MID PIPE is used in these 3 tests! Anyone could say hey---one of the 3 sound great I want that particular one but, misleading because again- no mention of mid pipe type
+K9 Unit Also---"After 30 years of building exhaust systems for CAMARO's, we have a pretty good idea of what we are doing" Now, I dont doubt that and Bora is some awesome products but, its going to sound alot different on say an 03-04 Cobra
I bought the Atak exhaust system for my 2011 Camaro SS L99 Engine. It doesn't sound exactly same as it is shown on the video. Also, when I press my gas pedal fully sometimes it accelerates and stops accelerating and again it accelerates. It happened on the night when I installed it. Can anyone explain what is going on?
V8. V6 engines have a completely different sound. The V8 will give you that classic muscle car sound that everyone knows and loves! When I hear V6, I generally think Nissan Z (not in a bad way at all).
mhtube01 I do agree with you that Boxer 6 cylinders are the best sounding. All of Porsche's Boxers sound fantastic, especially the 911 though. The new one in particular has a fantastic note in Sport mode. I own a 370Z and I think that V6 has a nice sound. It's too quiet from the factory though. A lot of guys put horrible sounding exhausts on Zs normally but I saw Borla makes a cat back system for that car and based on what I've heard online, I need to put that on my car! It has a much more pronounced, raspy roar than you would normally expect out of a V6, making it sound more like a 911 which is what I want. I know I won't get the full effect given the difference in engine configurations between the two, but it sounds pretty good if you ask me.
This David Borla guy must be loaded. That's a pretty popular last name he has there... He's got to be making at least $50-$60 grand a year LOL j/k ;) Cool video!
WackoKillerDan it does. It will make it a bit louder in heavy throttle. Cold air intakes give you more airflow into the engine at high load. ( therefore out of the engine aswell )
0:41: "Borla multicore technology is so efficient, its been proven to outflow a straight piece of pipe". Bullshiat. Multiple cores increase the surface area of the outflow tract, which disrupts laminar flow.
Laminar flow? That is for fluid not air. Remember we are also talking about reciprocating engines not turbines, so there are exhaust pulses, so the idea is to keep the flow going out steady even though it wants to stop between every cylinder flowing and cause a pulse. Also don't forget boundary layer air and temperature. Quit acting smart and read!!!
You are correct but I cannot disagree with David's comment though. There are too many variables. RPM etc. Maybe the increased area inside the muffler creates a negitave pressure and helps scavenging at high racing rpms.
Dude looks blazed
Fz6r Rider Sucking on exhaust fumes all day
Isn't that the guy from Super Troopers?
Quinn when the sound guy becomes your new friend
He's not stoned" That's the Daddy's got money, I'm going to inherit it, never work a daymanual labor pompous arrogance glow.

he looks like Booger from Revenge of the Nerds
that exaust is freakin loud! i love it!
He looks exhausted! LOL
Guys high asf
I listen both the outlaw and the ATAK and the Borla sounds more American...has the throaty sounds and consistent tone through RPM's!!!! I;m sold :)
That sounds awesome. And I'm and old Chevy, Ford and now Dodge enthusiast. Borla is one of the best options out there.

Huge respect for this genius man❤
just picked up my 2013 SS, this excellent video will make is simple to choose the sound I want. Thanks for posting.
Sir Borla, Love your products and you taught me that acoustical is a real word.
I Fucking LOVE my Borlas.

You're welcome.
Great video and the best exhaust review I have seen. Thank you from the customers
looks like this guy hasnt slept for ages.. but god damn he knows his work
pretty much old school muscle feel with the atak, luv it
creepiest stare ever @ 3:50
Wish they made an ATAK for 05 Sierra 5.3! First heard an ATAK on a '15 sierra and it sounds amazing and doesn't seem to have much of any drone

When you straight pipe a car, you would think it's actually going to increase the performance with less restrictions, but straight piping can actually decrease performance.
Looks like these guys know what they are doing with Camaro's. Ill look into it for my 2010 SS.
i think s-type has the most balance i like that one

we used their X race series muffler on a project. been using them ever since. I hope they broaden the market to other vehicles.. ie the challenger
Have that same color and year ss model can't wait to install it
Im from oxnard, do you have a link to the silver Lamborghini you did 3-4 years ago? I heard that thing over a mile away and it sounded gorgeous
I'll take the first one would love to hear that on my 2002 Mercury Sable GS 3.0 V6
God Bless you david borla... God bless you.
S-Type FTW!
Nah for boomers
Borla mufflers sound great.thats probably the only muffler I would run on my Shelby other than a Corsa,or MagnaFlow. I would install Flowmaster mufflers on a big block Chevy or big block Ford engine.
Atak for the win🏁🏁🏁🏁
ATAK all the way
i like the s tuning the ataks one sounds like open headers
I put a Borla Atak muffler on my 2012 Dodge Ram truck ,with a Hemi . this truck sounded like a NASCAR on the hi way.
Borla ATAK..
I have cat back atak on my srt. I had some squeaking and chirping going on but it stopped after a few trips out of town.
That was likely the canary.
Cool exhaust.. where's mclovin ?
I wonder if welding three shorty glasspacks parallel would match the ATAK sound.
how much HP does the ATAK give the Camaro ?
I just bought the borla atak axle back and I wanted to know if I should leave stock resonantors on or get a x pipe and also would removing renosators create drone?

Looking forward to getting this exhaust on my f150. Gotta wait another month :(
How is the drone for a daily driver on the focus rs with the atak?
startup - touring!

Thoughts on the ATAK with a mid muffler delete for a 17 Challenger? Will this sound better/have any issues?
I’m sold ... this guy looks high but I don’t care ... it’s a deal 🤝
It outflows open air
Which Camero do you have? Do you have headers, makes a big difference!

good day someone could help me telling me where I can buy exhaust tassel in miami? address or a store?
New camaro sounds like it has the runs
does the atak exhaust have aftermarket headers equipped as well? and if not can i get a video where it does?

THHHHHHHHHANKU.........THIS was A GREATT VIDEO!!! BROOKLYN KONZ SALUTES!! BORLA MUFFLERZ
@mcdoogle6969 That's a pretty vague response ... "any aftermarket modification to the stock exaust is illegal". Not really true at all.
What abaout the V6 camaro 2013? there exist a ATAK for this car?
Do you have a set for 2007 dodge magnum Srt8 6.1hemi.
For a zl1 what would b the best borla exhaust
DUUUUUUUUDE!!!WEED BROOOOOOO!!!
I have a perfect Question. What guys do u prefer for the camarro ss. Borla s type with LT or Slp loudmouth ll with LT
So can this exhaust get you a fail when it comes time for an inspection sticker because of how loud it is ????
does anybody know if axle backs void new car warranty ?
So by this guys sales pitch, if you take your cats off if you're building custom exhaust, do an engine swap, they're not going to be able to figure out which Muffler to sell you? I'm sold, Flowmaster it is.
This is borlas representative???
i like the s tuning
Did you get your chain at a mall kiosk?

@tashtan1 a race car = not street legal...i think they show those on youtube
How is sond in v6 camaro
@mmm00771 Sounds like you have another issue. A cat back isn't going to make your car hesitate like that.
David "Reggae" Borla..
he looks like joey from joey super cool food reviews.
with no pipe, what is flowing?..
I bought the Atak exhaust system for my 2011 Camaro SS L99 Engine. It doesn't sound exactly same as it is shown on the video. Whats with the vette with fr500's lol.
I have the 2011 camaro ss ...stock headers

Was the camero a v8 or v6 that makes a big difference to
V8. V6 engines have a completely different sound. The V8 will give you that classic muscle car sound that everyone knows and loves! When I hear V6, I generally think Nissan Z (not in a bad way at all).
mhtube01 So do I, but in a bad way. The only good sounding 6 banger is the boxer configuration IMHO.
mhtube01 I do agree with you that Boxer 6 cylinders are the best sounding. All of Porsche's Boxers sound fantastic, especially the 911 though. Don't get me wrong, all sixxers can sound 'good' just not all of them 'great'. Anything is 100times better than a fart canned 4banger.
I think anyone would agree with that. Lol
I understand that, I was just saying it sounds kind of crappy. Usually borla exhaust sounds amazing. I dunno I just like a good deep sound
This David Borla guy must be loaded. That's a pretty popular last name he has there... He's got to be making at least $50-$60 grand a year LOL j/k ;)
Cool video!
is with cold air intake of no to get that deep sound
Cold air intake doesn't noticeably change sound
WackoKillerDan it does. It will make it a bit louder in heavy throttle. Cold air intakes give you more airflow into the engine at high load. ( therefore out of the engine aswell )
stupidvids0 I have a Cold Air Intake and can't hear it. Some can depends on brand but my exhaust is really loud also
its not the cold air intake you hear, its the exhaust being louder because of it. WackoKillerDan
WackoKillerDan my cold air is super loud. It syncs well with my axle back S type
Borla ATAK with LT header
Who's getting Atak here in 2021?
thebayareapimp2 yo what part of the bay are you guys located? any meets?
***** im in the north bay too. palo alto area

i'd put these on a lexus!:D
