This is more of your "classic" Adam Gibbs vlogs - beautiful drone footage , fitting background music and a nice wrap up . Hope your getting out in the snow this weekend up your way !
I know exactly how you feel...!!! Just returned from Skye.. Snow capped mountains around Glen Coe but grey and wet.. The old man was the same but we have to make do with the conditions at the time :-)
Hi Adam - yes indeed, I stood on that same bridge back in May looking down that straight canyon to the waterfall. And yes, those Scots pines up the trail are lovely - captured a similar scene to yours, though I was blessed with some sunshine! Enjoyed your video very much. Jim
Really enjoying coming along with you on your photo expeditions.... Let us all know when & if you ever put a group together... I'm sure we'd all like to come along with you as our Master Guide....
I love the Scots Pine also. they have great shapes with their outward branches and sparser foliage. Love the drone shots, give you a nice view of the area surrounding you. pretty! Scotland = Weather...or midges.. :) farmhouse shot is pretty. the rolling hills is so appealing, everything is just rolling. Whilst walking on the crags, if you weren't there they would perceive to be so much bigger. nice optical illusion. Great colours in these photos! the scenery is a whopper! smashing final photo! Cheers, Adam!
I chuckled at the start as I know how far you had to walk from the campervan to get the waterfall shot. Loved the image at the end of Caisteal Ewan at the Faerie Glen. Love your videos of some of my favourite locations. Nollaig Chridheil agus Bliadhna Mhath Ùr.
We all know photography is all about light and composition, in some cases you may say it's about contrast and color, but it can be more then that. The water fall image: to me I find the textures (the leaves} quite amazing They are so complementary. My take.
Nice final image, Adam. Being a Canuck, I hear your British accent. However, when you declared that you are a Canadian and followed this up with the classic "eh", you conviced me that you are indeed a Canuck as well.
Like others have said, I love the opening drone footage. The last image you shared is quite stunning. I really like the composition and the layers of contrasting light.
The intro transition from mono to colour was a great touch, and the image with the Scots Pines was beautiful...I found myself drawn to the gnarly trees at right in the bridge scene,I think I would've been shooting those instead of the waterfall...loved the video as always!
Cor, Adam. First you are in Scotland, then back to Canada, then back in Scotland again! what a busy jet-setting life you must lead! Seriously as ever, great images and isn't it about time that Fujifilm made you an ambassador for them?
Thank you Adam. I have really mist your epic drone photage. I did actually plan to write a comment concerning the lack of drone photage but I guess that's not needed. Is there any particular reason why you haven't included as much of drone photage leatly? Best regards Conny
Thank you for normalizing the shift in attitude that travel brings... admitting that the conditions aren't perfect, but it's the only time you have in that place, so you make the best of it... knowing that sometimes it's okay to take the obvious shot because it's new and wonderful TO YOU and that's all the matters... I feel like I see too many photographers turn their noses up, and decide they simply won't take any images at all. Perhaps because they know they CAN come back, in a few months or years, and try again. But for most of us, when we travel, that might well be the only time we ever see these places, and the conditions won't be perfect, and we'll take the shot anyway.
Hi Adam, I love that last image in the VLOG. I was in that area on the Isle of Skye in October 2018, the weather was not very kind to us at all, so much rain & wind! You had some nice light for that last shot. Looking forward to next weeks find.
Thanks for another great vid Adam. Had the good fortune to spend a couple of day's there a few years ago on our way out to Callanish. Amazing spot and got some great night shots with star trails and moon illuminating the otherworldly landscape-magical! Callanish was spectacular as well-apart from the heavy metal weather! Cheers from Sunny Scotland.
Neat video, thanks. Well done for waiting for the light at “Ewan’s castle”. The dog walker makes the first shot there. Please tell us where that Torridon bridge was...the drone footage was so smooth there. Ideal mysterious music as usual, bravo.
Another, very enjoyable video! I love your videos as they are always SO down to earth and practical, very appealing to photographers who are into photography since "ever" (the 70's or 80's...), as at that time we had to be sensitive and choosy to what we took pictures off, right? Still, I am as you, fully in the realm if mirror-less camera as it is amazing what is possible today....Also, I especially like your way you edit your pictures as they highlight the story you want to tell through your experience....! Keep the videos coming in 2022 and stay safe!
Love your content Adam. You have come on so much in the last 12 to 18 months, and I mean that as a sincere compliment. A very Happy Christmas and the very best wishes for 2022. Sorry I am typing on a hotel bed on my way to Skye ! (and the weather is no better now than when you were there!)
I love the fairy glen! I feel like I could wander around there for days with my camera and have a grin plastered on my face. It was fun to watch what you composed for shots there. I am hoping to get back to Scotland in the fall. 🤞
I love the weird and wacky things you put in your videos, it puts you above most of the other photographers I have subscribed to (Passing place :P). In fact, I've unsubscribed to most, sometimes because I don't find their current photographs interesting or inspiring, but mostly because they're just doing the same thing everyone else is, and that just isn't captivating. Quality > quantity etc.
Loved the drone shot in the intro! Classic Adam Gibbs reverse aerial. And a bonus, it transitioned from B&W to color, nice touch. Of course, the still were excellent too, my favorite was the last one. The light made all the difference. BTW, I was sorry to see your hair get cut when you went to Scotland.
Wow that last image with the ripply bits before the tower thing is wonderful. I didn't even notice that feature in the previous images. It really is amazing how light can elevate a good landscape to a spectacular scene! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Adam!! 🎅🏼🥃
Thats my Scotland!!! I absolutely loved travelling around the Highlands so much, but cameras simply were not allowed on base so its a huge goal of mine to return and photograph it now. I love the farmhouse scene. The last two with the tower I like but agree the second image is a bit better. Great video as always and Happy New Year! Ps. Did you find any more bottles of the native whisky to try? Maybe just a wee dram or two?
This video dismissed my hypothesis that Adam films these reverse drone shots by flying forward then reversing the footage in post. But the water suggests he flies it backwards which makes this footage even cooler!
That light was certainly worth waiting for ! In a previous video you mentioned that your geared tripod head was damaged. How did you manage to do that? You are now using a ball head. Do you plan to get another geared head?
Hi Adam, and thanks for the video. I really enjoyed it. Quick question, what size your camera bag is? Planning to buy new one, and that size looks pretty good.
I think it's the Action X70. AFAIK it's the only Shimoda deep enough with the Large DV core unit where you can have the GFX100 with an L bracket stored on it's short side ie. camera grip uppermost. We'll see if Adam confirms.
Hiya, Adam might see you over there am at present at Mallaig waiting for the ferry im. Going to skye tomorrow if you see a y Bright yellow van over there its me my van is called custard am planning on going to photograph the old man of storr so not sure if you are all still up. There as I. Watching your video on the wednesday 29th Dec this video went out 3 days ago so may have missed you all anyway love. Yours and Tom's work check out some of my videos early ones called "Custard goes to scotland done about 2 years ago not a patch on your or Tom's anyway if I don't see you have a good new year ok
The scene was quaint? What do you mean quaint? Odd? Bizarre? Peculiar? Weird and strange? Is this an example of Canadian word usage particular to them? I can't say I perceive this scene to be quaint. I'm a Kiwi and find it odd that this scene is thought to be quaint
Quaint - attractively unusual or old-fashioned. Quaint means strange and unusual in an old-fashioned and charming way. It's a word you'd use to describe a little store that sells tea cozies and antique tea services, or your grandmother's habit of calling the radio the "wireless." I believe it is actually an English word, but could be wrong.
Interesting places to photograph, but never to live in, the weather is too bleak, it looks like a great place for a penal colony or something like that. At 11:51, you copied Gavin Hardcastle by saying his famous line "Here's the shot" (just kidding, but gavin could make a joke like that). Thanks for the video.
Adam Gibbs doing his thing, nothing wrong with that. By the way, that first drone shot. Black and White is the perfect contrast & The vibrant transition and the rise of elevation is - the reason we’re subscribed
This is more of your "classic" Adam Gibbs vlogs - beautiful drone footage , fitting background music and a nice wrap up . Hope your getting out in the snow this weekend up your way !
Ha. That last image just bloomed didn't it. Magical.
The opening drone shot is superbly executed.
That last shot is gorgeous - especially the light kissing the wavy ridges in the hillside.
The farmhouse, landscape perspective at about 12:10 polished up quite nicely, especially with the dog walker om the roadway
I know exactly how you feel...!!! Just returned from Skye.. Snow capped mountains around Glen Coe but grey and wet.. The old man was the same but we have to make do with the conditions at the time :-)
Love the final image and nice to see you in my neck of the woods. Also nice to see that you have the same frustrations with our fickle light!
Keep up the great work. Your videos lower my blood pressure and improve the way I look at the world.
My wife loves her Beanie and got here just in time for Christmas!! Thanks for your content.
Awesome! Thank you!
I like the photo of the pine trees very much. Quiet light indeed. Good relaxing video.
Many thanks

With panchromatic black & white film you could under expose & over develop to increase contrast. And, maybe an orange or red filter would help. (?).
Love love the last shot.
It's great to see your drone footage again🙂
Thanks 👍
I like the last photo very much. Enjoyed the vlog Adam. Thnx
Thanks 👍
Really enjoying coming along with you on your photo expeditions.... Let us all know when & if you ever put a group together... I'm sure we'd all like to come along with you as our Master Guide....
Glad you waited around for the light to change Adam! You captured that magical Scottish landscape 💙🏴💙
Oh wow, love that last shot, gorgeous composition and light. Really like the woodland shot too, amazing texture on the tree trunks. 👏👏👏
The adjustable view finder looks like a very handle thing.
Great video, I’m a sucker calming music and a drone intro
I did enjoy this. Lovely images and I especially like the last one. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing... just amazing.
Dang, the sheep wandered off. Still a nice shot.
Areal nice opener leads to a relaxed vid.
Scotland gave Adam some time to settle and let the talent work.

You did well to have Fairy Glen so quiet, its normally full of folk.

Fantastic video Adam. Amazing drone footage. Like the haircut as well 👍
Wow, that opening shot was magical! 😊👍
Thanks, Dave! did the hat make it?
@@QuietLightPhoto yep, as seen on my latest couple and noticed by quite a few people. Very happy with it 😊👍🏻
@@DGriffGallery Awesome! I have a bit of YoTube video catching up to do, cheers, Dave!
Great images! Very beautiful. Enjoyed that opening drone footage! Happy New Year!
Beautiful Country! Love to go there someday.
I love your videos, I love the way you show the raw file and then post processed files, and your deft touch at bringing them to life. Superb work !!!
Fantastic images, great work Adam!
Really enjoying this Scotland series! Awesome pics!
Beautiful images of a Scottish Landscape in your last 3 shots. The last one is my favo, without a doubt. 👌
Nice final image, Adam. Being a Canuck, I hear your British accent. However, when you declared that you are a Canadian and followed this up with the classic "eh", you conviced me that you are indeed a Canuck as well.
I have missed these wonderful drone shots for months
I enjoyed it very much! Thanks Adam, Nick
As with all your vlogs this year Adam its been a pleasure to watch and stunning images, look forward to whats to come next year

Freaking beautiful images once again Adam.. great work old chap

Wow! Look at that tent on top of your car! Don't the car top kinda sag down if you sleep on top of your car, though?
throughly enjoyed it, thanks.

Great video & images Adam, love the subtle ambient light on the forest scene, it looked beautiful.
Lovely scenery Adam, but what is there not to like besides the weather. 😊
Some beautiful photos Adam thank you for sharing your video. Happy New Year to you all. Will look forward to see more of your videos this year
Happy new year!

At 12:35 you look like Gandalf, walking to some magic place to cast powerful spells xD Great video btw. ;)

things I never thought I'd hear said in Scotland doesn't generally include, "It's going to rain".

Beautiful cinematic footage, shots with humor (passing zone) 😂 your thought process as you take each shot, excellent video, thank you.
Another wonderful video, Adam. Is there ever a time to visit Scotland between torrential rain and ravenous midges?
I love the fairy glen! I feel like I could wander around there for days with my camera and have a grin plastered on my face. It was fun to watch what you composed for shots there. I am hoping to get back to Scotland in the fall. 🤞
Nice one, Adam. Interesting to see you using a magnetic (?) lens hood for 32-64. Now that I've moved to GFX looking for alterntive solutions.

natural I believe
I’m looking for a camera backpack. Which one are you using in the video. TIA.

Yes Shimoda bags are excellent, I use the 70L
