Not so much when you enlist. Iwent into basic on july 3rd 1984 didn't get back home until January 1985 for 3 weeks then was statiined in Germany January 85-87. Never took leave in that time. From 18 to just shy of 21 years old had only been home that one time. It's tough being away from family, but thats the chiice a man or woman makes when we chiose to serve.
Kate is such a really sweet girl.. She's a nurse as well :) She must be a very loving and caring person :) Hope she has a happy life :) Sweet family as well she has :) Gb
This is such a sweet video! And I love that your brother asks you why you didn't do a cartwheel- it gives us insight into the absolutely adorable relationship you share with your brother. Congratulations on graduating nursing school!
Ms. Sobieraj: Thank you for choosing a career based on serving the well-being of others, and thank you to your brother for serving this great nation in the Marine Corps. No matter how long he had been a Marine at the time of your graduation, it is heart-warming to most of us to see a family reunited for moments like this. I pray your brother returns home safely from Afghanistan so that people like Mr. Maacin believe him worthy of such a moment. - Mark Leddy, Dir. of Publications, Navy Athletics
wow.... really touching i was station in a U.S Base to help out but what the fuck? the guys form the USA only stayed in the base a few months and are off home surprise their family, i have to stay at the base for 1year 2 months and i had to take a cab from the airport to home because my family are working. times like this i wished i stay in the USA
Mr.Maciin, I am so sorry that my brother's military career had just started when I graduated nursing school and the fact that he was a "boot" was offensive to you. However, this was truly one of the most incredible moments of my life, and now that he is in afghanistan getting some "salt behind his ears," it means that much more to me that he was able to make my graduation memorable... god forbid something happens to him, I will always have that moment, "boot" or not.
If you payed attention you would hear they said PLANNING for weeks. Not him being home for weeks. But yes, in some cases that happens. And I agree with you. It's wierd.
red alert this is philippines, we are pleading, asking help from US Marine Corps, Air Force and Army, Navy, even UN to please send an airlifting support, extend to us your humanitarian and heroic assistance to tacloban city, samar, leyte, aklan remote areas have no food, water, no cellcite/signal clothes, everything was wash out and damage by supertyphoon yolanda, the people are in deep hunger, the road are damage making it impossible to transport all the relief goods, there is a massive looting happening for deep hunger, hundreds of thousands of cadaver in diverse palces, pls pass this message, have mercy to the victims, lend us your hand and heart, we appreciate your help, please help us urgent
@ clare benette I might a little late ti the party on your comment, but you have your government to thank for the situation you had back then. The Philippine government didn't want the US in your country anymore so we closed Clark Air Base back in the 90's. Why is it that countries that treat the United States like shit beg for or help when their country turns to shit? Wherr is it written that the US has to give a shit about other countries?
19 years old and being almost 1 year from home.
*salute*
Wesley Rotterdam Casuals thats a long time for a 19 year old
