    Two videos in one week! The next video won't be an Ireland Explained but the County Carlow video will release after that.

    My great grandfather x5, John OBryan and his son Philip came to America in 1775. Philip fought in the revolutionary war and was given and land grant in Meade County, Kentucky. I imagine we are descendants of Brian Boru. Great video

      Mine, too! John Eastin (?) Shannon fought in the Revolutionary War, I believe it was a regiment in Turtle 🐢 Creek, Pennsylvania & was awarded a land grant in Kentucky.

    What does the map you use in the intros refer to? Some countries are greener than the others in it, but according to my understanding portugal, and czechia are part of schengen. So what does the colour signify?

    • @GeographyWorld
      @GeographyWorld  3 года назад +3

      Great question! It's a map of countries which I've travelled to.

    South Armagh is one of the most beautiful places in Ireland and has been largely overlooked due to the harsh british occupation during the troubles. I’ve been on top about 5 times and Everytime I can almost feel the spirit of my ancestors and legend running through the air. It’s quite an experience.

      @@GeographyWorld thanks for the reply. My genealogy shows Samuel Davidson married Helen Copland in county Armagh around the 1780’s . This is my Mum’s lineage, the rest of the line ended up on the north east coast of Scotland.

    Just hold on parts of south Armagh were calked bandit country, not in most of Armagh especially Loughgall or my town Portadown and Lurgan so, I think you’re overplaying it somewhat. I’m an Ulsterman/UlsterScot’s protestant with northern Irish heritage so an Irishman not a unionist especially but I definitely am if it means joining with anything to do with the Marxist wannabe Sinn Fein or Ira in that case I’ll fight and die for the UNION. No Surrender ever.
