I received this watch from my wife for Christmas and so far I absolutely love it. It doesn't look or feel like a cheap toy watch (apple, vivofit, or fitbit). I don't mind the weight or the size of the watch face. My only complaint would be the lack of options for the charging of it. I've found some 3d printed docking stations on Amazon and eBay but really hope huawei comes out with one.
only gripe I have is I wish it came with a sensor to adjust brightness perhaps if it were fitted around the edges or on the strap hinge it would make for a more yet already flawless device I just picked one up and I absolutely love it
Hey +AMDtech, can you do a more indepth review of just the stylus and pen capabilities of this device? and compare them with the lenovo thinkpad ypga 460/14 if you can? That would be awesome.
I am debating on getting this smart watch very much ive seen it as low as $220 and 249.99 but yet I am still hesitant to buy it any pros and cons that you would suggest ?
I got it for 186 on amazon a few months ago. I've had the Moto 360 first gen, the Sony smartwatch 3, and now the Huawei watch and I have pretty much had the exact same experience on all 3 of these devices. Specific to this watch tho, the charger sucks and its gonna requires a wiggle or two before getting the right connection. The only other complaint I could even think about would be that it is IP67 instead of IP68. Not a huge issue, but I was certainly a lot less careful with my Sony. The speaker is a nice feature to have too. Other than that, any other Android wear watch is going to give you a very similar experience. With that being said, if you think you're going to like Android wear then this watch is just as good as any other Android wear watch. At the end of the day, you'll be wearing it on your wrist so if you like the look and have the money, buy this watch.
It's still worth it. I was jumping from a Zenwatch 1 to the Huawai just to have that extra piece of luxury, round watchface and best screen and protection. With prices dropping and Wear 2.0 coming it still has most of the needed features to enjoy it for a year orso. I still like the way Wear works and what it offers me e.g a easy and quick to see Messaging center with additional functional push messages from news sites. New watches are in the making and the only upgrade you would see with the new batch of watches would be an integrated GPS and NFC and maybe extra battery life. Although NFC sound good for future wireless pay in shops and GPS for fitness (???). anyway this watch is still on top of the leaderboard as the number one choice of smartwatch..
like the idea of this. just make sure you are checking information before you put it in the video. The Moto 360 1st gen was not a 42mm. it was 46. and the 2nd gen was as well but they do have the smaller 42 mm option for that one. just in case people had the first moto 360 and wanted to buy this thinking it's the same size. It's much smaller
Shame that i really dont like the looks of this watch, in Finland it cost 200e right now while samsung gear 3 frontier cost 399€ wich i really like the look wise.
I think it still is worth it despite no sim card. Truth be told, I had the original Samsung Gear S and rarely used it without the phone. It was nice to use in the gym without the need of a phone, but in practical use, I would wind up using my phone 90% of the time anyway. So not a deal breaker for me, but I can understand that some will want that feature. Overall, this is a nice looking watch first and foremost. I don't think any smartwatch is necessary at this point in time. I do think it will get better with Android Wear 2.0, imo.
Remember, Gear S2 has Tizen (Not Android Wear) and has specific phone compatibility. While Huawei is compatible with any phone running Android 4.3+ and even iPhones.
Couldn't hear the background music, please consider making it louder next time :)
Thanks for such a cool review mate. Much appreciated.
huawei a great watch has my gear s2 classic sitting in a box ✌😉

Just got the black on black for $35 today. Running smoothly and it's better than my fossil gen5 or gen 6.
How come this watch is still not updated with android wear 2.0? Any clue when it would be updated?
Good question. It seems that it has been delayed by Google. But you can install the beta onto the watch now.
Great video. Looking forward to more. Subscribed
Thanks David! Really appreciate it.
This is definitely a great watch. I wouldn't live home without it

A kind of agree to all what you said. Can't see any new deal breaking feature to be introduced in the next year or even 2

Thanks for the clarification and the feedback. It helps me improve the videos. Thanks again!
Can you swim with this watch? What are the limitations with iPhone? Looks better than all the other smart watches in my opinion.
30 mins... up-to 1m/3ft. IP67. Unfortunately swimming is not recommended. I was hoping for the same.
Backgroung music is too high
No it isn't
Totally not a scripted intro

What do you think of the new Huawei watch announced at MWC?
how about now? I still cant find any good alternative..
Still works great. Just updated it to Android Wear 2.0. I do like the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier a lot.
Out of the two, which one do you prefer?
Still worth it notwithstanding no SIM card?

this or Samsung gear s3?
Jesse Schintler I say gear s3
this watch plus a sim = samsung gear s2 classic
