That slot in cupboard for the fuse panel is awesome. Loved how your backed the cupboards too
Thank you so much Christina for your kind comments.
I can't take credit for the cupboard back idea as I saw George @ Humble Road do something similar.. I too thought an awesome idea.
I'm delighted with that slot in too as it compliments my ethos of accessibility.
Woodwork I find painstaking!!!! So I'm so glad Paul's on board and seems to be enjoying himself making good my ideas.
@@vanlifemyway7806 yeah i have watched all of George’s - i am just building a battery drawer with 2020
I cant do wood either so am trying to grab all the ideas i can
@@christinamacintyre9972 keep in touch Christina if you need to throw some ideas around.
Is there a video of the doors for the overhead cabinets ?
Absolutely lovely mate, well done I done my whole lot out of 30 x 30 as well. Great stuff really easy to work with what was the plastic sheeting that you use for the inserts? Thanks
Thank you for your very kind comments.
It was a sheet of 8x4 upvc hygienic wall cladding in 2mm.
You can find it on ebay but I was lucky to pick up 5 sheets a guy was auctioning locally surplus to a job.
amazing video
Do you have a link to where you bought the 80/20 ?
Hi and thank you for you're very kind comments.
I'm using BR section extruded aluminium from KJN Automation.
It's very commonly referred to as 80/20 in the vanbuild community made popular with American van builds.... 80/20 being an imperial brand unavailable here in the UK.
Hope this helps and don't hesitate to ask if I can be of any more help.
Paul
Hi. Thank for these videos. Are you using the KJN BR profiles with the Inside Bracket 8 Slot for these cabinets? Help appreciated
Hi and thank you for your kind coment.
Yes, both the 40x40 and the 30x30 for the upper cabinets.
I am using the inside brackets, they're very effective and neat but very expensive.
A fellow follower has ordered similar on ebay from China that are 5 times cheaper, which prophile well and if they prove as reliable, may be worth considering.
Nice cupboards 👍Are you using 10 or 15 series 8020?
Hi and thank you for reaching out to us.
8020 is not available here in the UK.
I am using a 30mm section for our cupboard units.
Hope this helps.
8020 is a marvelous material, but it’s a pitty it’s so expensive. I like your vid’s
Thank you Willem for your kind comments.
It is expensive, perhaps more so the fixings that need to be used to join the aluminium together!
I still expect my build to be well under 1/2 the price of any so called professional build - using much better equipment tailored to my needs so perhaps there is some justification.
This build is also a journey for me testing my ideas and skills which I hope by vlogging may inspire others.
I would though love to do a build on a tight budget, again perhaps to test my abilities.......keep watching!
@@vanlifemyway7806 i think you’re right, in relation to professional builders it will be much cheaper. Everything is relative😏
I’ve subscribed, so yes, I will follow you with great interest.
@@willemtjaffer7356 when I've put my last piece of aluminium in place, I'm considering a vlog covering cost and suitability so do keep watching and many thanks again Willem.
Great to see another video of your cracking van build Paul. The 8020 is an interesting material and it’s great to see how you’ve used it in your build, can I ask if you have a link for the plastic sheeting you used and how does it compare cost wise. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Hey Peter, thank you again for your kind comments and support.
I found a supply of the 2mm sheet I needed on ebay for about £60ish plus delivery.
I also found a local builder on there auctioning 5 spare sheets from a job.....I managed to collect all for £64 so well chuffed.
You'd be welcome to a sheet and a brew if your close to DN20.
@@vanlifemyway7806 Thanks for the kind offer Paul, I'm looking into the possibility of using flexible sheet polypropylene as a roof liner with a soft material covering. I really like how you've used the sheet plastic in your upper cupboards 👍🏻
@@gnarlybadger690 it was an idea I saw used by George at "Humble Road" and at the time I thought it a brilliant idea.
I see many folk using plastic cladding on their ceilings having a good effect, I would be tempted to use a few vents in any plastic ceiling to allow some airflow.
I'll be using a product called Acupannal which I think may find a useful place in vanbuilding especially with the wool I'm using as I believe and hope a little, they'll compliment each other in function.
Unique?? , looks a copy of Humble Road
