When Swerve vs. Ospreay was booked for Forbidden Door, I was surprised. But I knew Swerve needed to win. And he did, which was the right decision. The right move is for Swerve to be champion for the rest of 2024 and then have Ospreay win the title in 2025 at All In at Wembley Stadium
Good on will ospreay for wanting to do something like that. But at the sametime, the main reason why swerve felt like a transitional champion is mostly due to the fact is how Tony was booking him and it seem like he didn’t feel like a top priority.

Personally, I think the fact that AEW ARE aware about that rumor to “kill it” kind of confirmed everyone’s suspicions that Swerve IS a transitional champion and Tony Khan is going through with his agenda to book Ospreay to win the championship as Ospreay is the favorite.
It would take some creative booking to get to, but I would like Ospreay to win the championship from Bryan at Wembley. I’d like Bryan to stipulate that if he loses the championship he will step away from full time competition like he’s been talking about doing.

So it's by Ospreay's will that Swerve is still the champion. That doesn't make Swerve look better even if it was the right choice. I honestly feel this was a last-minute change, you go back and look at the entire build-up to this. Swerve was not retaining. Hell Ospreay was already booking a match with Garcia for a title he didn't have. Swerve still feels like an afterthought but so does MJF, even more, if he is going to have an ALL-In match with Garcia.
