Even though my model was depicted in the video, it gave me enough information to take off the top to inspect the shock absorbers. I did not see any damage to the shock absorbers but my wife found a video on replacing them and someone suggested duct taping pool noodle sections around the outside walls to act as a buffer to the drum/tube knocking against the walls during a spin cycle. We'll see next time she does laundry whether or not the washer tries to walk out of the laundry room .
Damn my drive assembly didn't want tapped from inside or pulled from outside. Update: the seal was corroded and stuck which was causing the leak and extra hard work
Do not underestimate the amount of force needed to overcome the magnets involved in removing that cover at the bottom of the motor housing. Especially if you are working in cramped quarters.
If you've had it for years, it's likely a cleaning issue. The floating tub gets stuck to the gear and can't lock in to spin mode. Tub needs to be removed and cleaned
I needed to replace the lock switch on mine. This video was HIGHLY useful in helping me disassemble the lid. Thanks
Great video! Having video instead of diagrams in a repair manual is super twenty-first-century helpful

You made my job of replacing the water regulator valves so easy 5 seconds into your video. Made it a 10 minute job if that. Thanks.
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to do this!
This right here....saved me from buying a new washer dryer@!
tried taking 7/16 impeller bolt off but the tub and impeller spin, how can I brace the impeller so it won't spin, thanks for any help

If I’m losing socks in my washer, which procedure should I follow to find them? I feel like they’re getting up and over the tub edge.
Are the O-rings/seals available for purchase for this type of gearbox drive?
Does this type of gearbox contain grease? Or some type of oil?
My four bolt 🔩 holes on the gear tranny don't sit flush with the plastic washer tub holes. The back ones are farther away. Is this normal?
Spanner bolt is out but I cannot get the basket out.
It’s called the tub cover
Can't seem to get the top to move forward and back so it will open
quand ma laveuse fonctionne, j'entend comme une courroie qui glisse . Y a t'il une courroie sur une cabrio qui ouvre par dessus?

This video also doesn't tell you some of the steps before each step have to be done in order for proper disassembly.
Which model Whirlpool washing machine is this unit?
It’s a Whirlpool Cabrio.
WTW8500DC1
It's WTW8040WD0
Same model but my unit will not spin. Any ideas how to get it to spin.
Did you ever get this fixed? Same for me.
