Example: Last week when my power was out (I went through Hurricane Ida & it literally knocked all of the power out in New Orleans), I was listening to my little portable radio mostly for talk radio to hear updates on not only what it looks like all over Southern Louisiana but when NOLA would get the power back on & I heard a update on what Ida did in New York & I couldn't go back to sleep thinking about that so I decided to turn off talk radio & listen to my local R&B station & guess what I heard in a 3 hour time span? "One In A Million" & "Rock The Boat".....*

I love the symbolism! Northern lights = ascending to heavenly skies, Aaliyah going into the light snow = walking into the unknown, dove flying at the end = **peace** out; until we meet again.
it really think they should have done a hawk . really would have been her ascention like another lifetime. like the one she had in the back of her album and in " Are you that Somebody" . video that bird was gorgeous . at least some of her fans would have closure and would have been so badass . doves are sweet but that would be a Prince's thing IMO. i think the Hawk represented her more such strength. Northern lights also her Matrix Character where I guess she would have looked like if it happened. the light to me represent her in Queen of the Damned too as her spirit is realeased how she also would want Akasha to be saved, i like both the black and the white outfits . its Aaliyah signature colors but also her character after Akasha got rid of the darkness within her. she wore white at the end of the movie also. snow sadly also represents a young person gone . this usually happens on a child's funeral also. but in her case Gentle and silent like snow which her music was about even though her characters were dark her music wasn't. this Yin and Yang ( more than a Woman video)and Queen of the Damn.

The thing about it is, when ppl are reimagined as an animated character, the character usually makes them look way better. But Aaliyah is so gorgeous that, as beautiful as this animated version of her is, it ain’t got nothing on how beautiful she actually was ❤️

I heard she signed with fox tv to make an animated tv show about herself with this character and the help of Joel Silver (producer of Romeo Must Die). I just laugh off everything people say that she was gonna fall off like nah Babygirl was booked with tv shows, fashion lines and possibly a makeup line in the future.

Had the pleasure of meeting her at an event at Universal Studios. She was walking with a bodyguard. No one noticed her. I just walked up and asked if i could take a picture, she said “sure”. She was so sweet. I just remember thinking “she is so beautiful”. She let me put my arm around her and we took the picture. She died a few months after that. She will be missed.

I recently read an interview with Aaliyah’s stylist, Derek Lee, about his groundbreaking work with her and how he had hoped to elevate her style into one that was heavily influenced by anime/Japanese animation.
I think this is a beautiful re-introduction to Aaliyah’s music, particularly her self-titled album, now that it is available to stream. And I think this pays a wonderful homage to both Aaliyah and Derek Lee’s stylistic vision for her.

As someone who’s been a fan of Aaliyah since the middle 90’s this video gives me some relief that she’s at rest truly,i mean ultimately she died doing what she loved and for her music to not be available to her fans would’ve crushed her so now we are able to enjoy her hard work as she would’ve wanted and worked for .she was an excellent artist and beautiful light, she’s forever in her true fans hearts 🥺🥺🥺❤️
She died because she was told her man, Dame Dash, wasn’t well and needed her by his side. She didn’t want to get on the plane, but was told she had to, with the hundreds of pounds of extra weight bringing down the plane and what else.
So, it’s not that she died doing what she loved, but she died as a result of loyalty to who she loved and at the hands unsafe handlers.

This is amazing. can't they just make a show with about Aaliyah in the future going around the galaxy & fighting villains? And she teams up with a new artist like every other week. Artist that can give a proper remix tribute to her song? i'm in love with the art here. and the ending is beautiful. it hurts to see it end because it just spills out the reality that she is immortal thru her music where she will exist centuries into the future, with us saving the music, but life was cut short in tragedy. truly poetic.

Try Again introduced me to Aaliyah, so it's great that's the first song we hear again as we celebrate her music being out there in the world once more. I love that her songs will now be easily accessible to those who didn't get to experience it the first time around or older fans who got rid of CDs. It's been a long time indeed, but it still sounds as fresh as ever! ♥♥♥

Her comeback is revealed by her taking off the mask and her spirit is released when her works were distributed back online to the people. The new animated Aaliyah commercial really made me emotional the message I got from it was Aaliyah making sure that her legacy is never forgotten and after her music being locked up for soooo long, it's now released and her fans can now breathe and we can educate new fans on who Aaliyah really was! I understand that Ms. Diane Haughton and Rashad have their issues with Barry but I honestly don't think it's right to involve the fans and have us not listen to her music and to really be honest I don't think Aaliyah would want that she would be devastated to hear that her fans can't listen to her music. How is her legacy ever going to be remembered if we can't stream her music?? If this would've happened another 20 years down the line her legacy would've slowly died out.
