This guy's whole rugged, wise, southern, rustic, country demeanor is the reason I watched this whole video and genuinely wanted to hear his input. He looks exactly like someone who know would know about good leather.
Try buy from new and small company. Usually their 1st product make of high quality material. The big branded company they already cut costing of their original material to increase profit
He’s saying it’s getting harder and harder to tell so if you want to be sure, buy from people who are trustworthy and honourable and are known for their work with leather. Otherwise, it’s a guessing game and a chance you’re taking buying elsewhere.
Easier way: Press into the material with your thumb. if you see uniform creases, its fake. if you see a wide variation of some deep and some light creases, its real.
Okay, so from now on, whenever I buy some leather items either in store or online, and no matter who made it, I’m gonna call you and ask if it’s real or fake right?
Okay but i have 3 questions Do you sell leather jackets? If so do you have an online website so i may purchase? Also what kind of leather is more durable? To clarify the last question i mean the kind of leather hyde.
Yes, we sell leather jackets online at: buffalojackson.com/collections/mens-leather-jackets I would check out the Legacy Leather Jacket or Driggs Leather Jacket which both use full grain cow leather, our most durable leather.
if the shopkeeper is willing to bet on his product, you can take a lighter to the test matterial. real leather won't easily melt or burn, only char. then it'll smell like burnt hair. fake leather will burn similar to cloth or plastic. it'll likely catch fire. and no matter how much leather scent the manufacturer puts on it, once fake leather burns, it'll smell like burnt plastic.
So if you buy a brand new leather jacket, you just going to burn it to test? Let's say you discover it's fake leather and you go back to the store to return it. The clerk says "Sorry, we can't accept returns on items that has been burnt" LOL
if it feels like leather, looks like leatehr even smells like it, then who cares? you gonna say it doesn't last as long, I suppose, but what if it does, then who cares?
The main point of leather is its durability. Fake leather may feel, look and smell like real leather, but as a fake product made to cash in on leathers' reputation, the forger is not going to put any investment in making it as durable. If you believe otherwise, then I wish you well in your fantasy world.
@@tenpoll What you say is so true. Unless you have the time, knowledge and equipment to destructively test the item, their is no real way except buying an item from a reputable supplier. Even real leather varies wildly in quality and incorrect stitching can cause the item to fail. Cotton stitching can shrink, while certain synthetic threads can cut the leather like a cheese wire at points of strain after a few months.
Have you heard of Berliner leather ?? Just bought a backpack 🎒 from them on Amazon. The description says Cow leather, but no tag 🏷 I’m very wary 😒 these days. Thanks for this video.
Cow leather tells you nothing about the quality of the leather or the split. Genuine leather (a highly misleading term) mostly comes from cowhide, but it is the lower split and has little strength or durability.

Yeah... I wish he would have actually answered my question though, lol
Ok, so... how do you know if something is real leather?
basically you cant anymore
You buy this guy's shit is what he is saying. I can't believe I just watched a 3 minute ad intentionally

He has no answer

He didn't answer the question but his delivery and overall presentation made me really enjoy the video anyway! :)
Yup! Many times it is only the tag itself that is real leather...

Okay….can I at least know what that little spray is called?
Were do i order your wallets?
Let’s save everyone 3 minutes: this video doesn’t answer the question it titles the video. It is a 3 min video about grifting though, so I get it.
how is it legal to say "genuine" if it's not?
I've seen and used many fake leather products now I don't know what real leather is supposed to feel or smell like..Only time can tell me.
PSA: This is an ad and does not explain how to tell is leather is real or not
Your tone and pacing are incredibly enjoyable to watch.
Misleading title. Doesn't even tell the difference between real and fake leather. Dislike
Is the real hair

i was expecting he explains clearly how to distinguish the real vs fake (pleather or vegan leather)
Trust is everything

This is how politicians answer questions
Trying to get decent made, durable shoes these days is not possible.......unless you spend outrageous amount.
Love that macfix plus bottle lol
bro these youtube videos are really out here wasting peoples time 🤣
Rubbish...don't waste your time, it's just an ad. It never gives any tip on how to tell real from fake leather
Love this!
The guy just don't get to the point at all. Needs a haircut. But then again it's just a commercial
This doesnt tell us nothing
Well, that was completely uninformative.
Hello Antonio Banderas
Not really helpful
Waste of 2 minutes and 54 seconds. I learned zero.

If it smells looks and feels it's definitely leather...
