Man, I wish I had some extra money. I would love to get a two older pickup trucks. I'm a disabled veteran and I'm on a set budget. Me and my wife are both disabled and are barely making it now.

You ever think of building models? It's cheaper than only the real thing. You can customize them and take pride and put them in the display case. I'm serious. In my early years during my physical therapy. One thing I had to do was practice swallowing pudding. Apparently swallowing properly is necessary for breathing. From what I can tell the leaving cause of death is stop breathing. I built a few model cars and ships. Basically whatever my kids wanted to build. I do have a good collection of the full size cars whatever you want to call them. But I accumulated them over the years. After a number of years of physical therapy including walking on the bars once I made it that far and a few surgeries and some metal implanted in my body; I can do a few more things now. My reply is meant to the only one thing that should be an encouragement. Hope that you and your wife continue to get better. I've seen man and wife both been disabled comment on some other RUclips channels. But also in person these people were looking for small house they can afford. I helped them by locating a few possibilities. The rest is up to them but then it always is in life. Even with my diagnosis for the rest of my life I try to do better. Every time I say that word try I think of my drill sergeants from so long ago. He would shout at us don't be a try baby. Be a do baby. I never did understand how that was motivational. You can't do until you try. And even when a person try he or she may not accomplish the extent of the goals they want to accomplish. It says you barely making it now. I was going to give you a few leads on where you could buy some stuff cheaper than with these trucks are listed on eBay right now. But if you're barely making it now maybe later on in life. I like Southern Kansas. Up on the high plains and what have you in Northwest United States. I'll leave it at that and wish you the best for you and your wife.

@@CAROLDDISCOVER-FINDER2525 I'm not asking for anything on here! You were taking it wrong. I was expressing a dream that I have ! That's all! Why does everyone think that I'm always asking for something! I had a old truck when I was younger and so did my wife. We're both almost 60 years old. I'll bust my butt to get a truck for my wife soon!
And I too, did plastic models as a child! I like airplanes and warships myself.

@@madhounddog04 maybe I should have reread my post first. But I was just encouraging you to chase your dream when able to. When I was a kid I built models. But I started building models again during that time of therapy and surgeries and my adult life. I think what they called it was help with my finer motor skills. The other example I remember pointing out is it disabled couple who told me the story and I'm going to leave it to that. But they wanted to buy a house instead of renting. I think the house average was about 600 ft cuz maybe 700 ft of the maybe five that I found. I don't think I spent more than a half an hour. Maybe learning how to walk talk and swallow again enhanced my desire to encourage people. My help as well and it was only finding and giving information. I've done the same with finding information on affordable daily driver cars for a handful of disabled folks. I grew up with relatives in wheelchairs that I was really fond of. So whatever the motivation factors have been for me to help, it's been to help primarily with information. You did not ask for me to reply. You didn't come out and say hey somebody give me something because for whatever reason. That wasn't your comment. Your comment basically said I like this but it's not in my budget for this reason. I go a little deeper into an example. A Chevy 1956 truck for a couple thousand. A 1959/60 Ford pickup for I believe less than that, but in that range anyway. They've got good bodies. There is complete as an old truck can be. The Chevy needs brakes and runs reportedly. The Ford pickup I just don't remember about the drivetrain. I did not mention them earlier because I was not assuming that it would be in or out of your budget. I've become the guy that wants to see the car hobby stay around for generations to come. People have asked me on occasion and been suspicious of why somebody wants to help. I see that as a sad comment on society where somebody offering a little bit of help about information is not the norm any longer. I'm not saying that's the case with you. Matter of fact I've tried to go out of my way to not say anything about whatever place in life you are. I don't know. I just read where man would like to have at least more involvement in the car hobby/own one possibly. It's not my business nor do I ask for any additional details. I'm just going off of what you provided. Your reply to my to my reply is not upsetting and I hope that I don't come across that way. I am not what they call a politically correct person either. So that's what I hope to be a better explanation of why I replied.

@@CAROLDDISCOVER-FINDER2525 I served in the military for over 22 years and one tour in Iraq. While I was in Iraq, I was disabled. Since I came back everyone thought I was asking for hand outs. Since I was a little boy I have always worked my butt off to get the money to everything that I needed. I'm from a very large family. I meet my second wife about 13 years ago and together we have been working on trying to get out of the state we're in and go to another. My wife was attacked by her daughter and almost died. I maxed out my credit cards so that I could be near her. She had two brain operations and a brain procedure done all within 35 days! I didn't ask for any help from anyone then because it's not me! I'm still paying off those credit cards. New Orleans is a expensive city. All I was saying in post was a dream, and only a dream! I'll get my wife a older truck one day, but it'll be on my terms and without anyone's help! By the way, I have severe PTSD from Iraq, a TBI from Iraq. And because of the TBI, I have parkinson's and epilepsy and a lieson on my brain. I've had my right knee replaced twice within two years because the VA hospital screwed up. I have a blood clot on my lung and a aneurysm on my lung right now. And blood clots forming on the other lung. I don't want or need anything from anyone! I can't say that enough!

@@madhounddog04 okay fine. But you are part of the brotherhood. Some of my friends have been over there even recently. They call me brother. Somebody has to go into the caves etc. That's about as much as I'll say on a public forum about that. I salute you. Not for what you've been through. Not for the injuries. I'm not taking away from that. What I salute you sir is for the can do will do attitude. PTSD sounds familiar. Don't worry I know what it is. You can take from that what you like. Commenting on cars. Offering information with no strings attached. They just can help somebody keep their sanity. If it helps somebody that's even better. So you have nothing to prove to me. I've never put myself in a competition based upon how far behind the eight ball I am. But all my life I looked to see what other people were doing that was working for them. Then I decide if those actions would be within acceptable parameters for myself and if they would work for me possibly. Rockefeller's driver was a millionaire couple of times over and he was still driving for the old man as they say. He got rich following the footsteps of the man he worked for. More importantly to me I got healthier emulating other people. I got out after the first time we went over and played in the sandbox. I definitely would not classify any part of my conversation with you Sir as a handout. I'm not even thinking it's a hand up just information. Maybe encouragement. You are a person that's loyal duty bound and with Honor according to what you say because I don't really know you. There isn't any part of that that's not respectable. But one thing that was hard for me was to come to the point that I realized that I just could not do it myself anymore. So I start doing something differently and thankfully it worked. The parameters I set ideally for my kids was hey if you can't tell your grandmother what you doing then it's probably not something you need to do. Remember that through your life. That was a good chunk of advice given to me when I was a kid. So there's my parameters in short. I don't know what to say about what you been through. But I won't go into anymore about what I've been through because it's not a competition. I've been there when all that my friends wife got was two things after he returned. Maybe three things. Thank you ma'am and we're sorry for your sacrifice. As they handed her the flag neatly folded. I traveled some distance to another state just to try to help out when a young soldier came home in a certain group promise to disrupt his funeral. I am not overestimating the numbers. 20,000 people standing four and five people deep lining the boulevards. Of course the group was there with their motorcycles and they did have to drown out some of the protesters. I don't think the family ever heard the protesters. Some other individuals were kind enough to escort them away. But I remember that man's face as he was about to bury his son. What's the important of all this is obvious. Relevancy to guys been through a lot has a long road ahead of him. Maybe if that many people turn out for a funeral how many people will be rooting you on offering help ready to take it or not. I'm not advising you and I'm not in a position to advise you. I'll leave you with this and best wishes. A sign I saw a few years ago handwritten and put up maybe by the cashier and it stayed there for a while at the checkout line. Be kind because you don't really know what kind of day the other person's having parrot simple words but it's true
