When done right, It's a way of being respectful to the original artist while still sounding like yourself.
Well executed. It loses some of the emotion and urgency though. The guitarist gets lost in the solo and tries to impress a bit too much as well. Just feels like another modern rock track. It doesn't pop with that extra layer of emotion.
It's too crisp. It doesn't flow, breathe, live come alive. It's to emotionless. More about hitting chords and timing than the actual control chaos of real life. It's missing something. Exactly! Bass and drums are not distinctive enough. Way too much emphasis on that “wall of sound” effect that hides away a lot of detail in the mix.
