Dreams come with a price.
I've always been the kind to try what’s out of reach no matter what.
Ever since I was a kid, I had a recurring dream of me walking towards the edge of the cliff. All I saw down there was death.
That’s why the idea of moving away from the ground is so powerful to me.
I always imagine myself flying above Sydney Harbour.
My first rocket belt free-flight was “somehow” successful. I was able to fly for 10 seconds.
But it wasn’t enough. Not when I finally had a taste of it.
I wanted more. I needed more.
I tried again but it didn't go well.
If the catalyst melted into the tank, everyone around from where I was standing would have died with me.
You'd think a normal human being will stop at this point and wake up from this madness.
I guess I'm not normal because I continued.
This time, it was more horrible.
I crashed and burnt my legs. But more than anything, it crushed my heart(no pun intended!).
I started feeling like every time we got something right, something else fails.
But…
Every time I look at Sydney Harbour, it drives me to keep going.
You may think this was the worst but it's NOT and that’s what you will discover in one of our upcoming posts.

On one of my training flights some years ago I let my legs dangle and the steam burnt my calves pretty bad, shredded the flight suits as well. I put ointment on them and continued training the following week not letting anyone know how bad I had burnt them.
Did that take about 1-2 years for your body to heal? Where did the Doctor get the skin graft from?
It took some time! We are fit and healthy ready for more flying now!

No pain, no gain so they say! We have come a long way since.

Yep! Thankfully we have solved this issue!
Hope for a speedy recovery.
Maybe it's also an idea to implement more safety features into the jetpack, like some emergency button to quickly stop the engine and then a way to eject the backpack fast once you're back on the ground. Anything to protect the pilot better from accidents.
Just imagen doing that during flight by accident... Maybe wearing appropriate clothes will help, or practicing better landing techniques...
This is old! We love to share our commitment to success. You should see what we have developed since...much safer!
There was other incident and induction valve (or sth) was once overheated and rocket fuel almost exploded and blew people around.
Important part is they went through these ordeals before they finally made it last year 2019 in other footage with turbo jets.
We mustn't forget what David Mayman said "You can easily get killed" with that rocket boosters. Turbo jet the same. It's not only fancy dreamful thing. We should know its danger, too. Like Icarus. Fly too high, fall too deep.

JetPack Aviation I’m curious why you would publish this without some indication in the title that the accident occurred years ago. How is that good for JPA? I have been following JPA’s efforts for years, but somehow I missed it. I was really concerned about David Mayman last night. I’m relieved that he has recovered and was not injured worse.
Shoulda’ve flown over a lake or some sorta water body.
