Guided Vagal Healing Meditation for Gut Health | Healing the Brain-Gut Axis

  • Our Digestive system and our brain are connected. This connection is known as the brain-gut axis. Your gut contains both the large and small intestines which are connected to the brain by the vagus nerve. This is the largest nerve in the body and therefore it is often known as the wandering nerve because it travels from the brain to many other organs throughout the body. This connection works by allowing your brain to receive and deliver important information.
    When you eat and begin to digest your food, the vagus nerve notices changes in the microbiota in your intestines and sends this information to your brain. When this nerve is working to its full capacity, the brain sends the response immediately. If your vagus nerve is weak, or there is nerve damage, the flow of information between your gut and brain is slowed. Some of the information it sends may be processed, but some may be lost. This is when inflammation can begin, and the possibility of a chronic condition can emerge.
    The best way to strengthen your vagus nerve is through breathwork. This meditation will focus on vagal breathing and offer you a guided meditation focusing on strong digestion and a healthy brain-gut connection. Best done daily, but offering this healing to your body at any time is also a helpful gift to your body.

    Gonna try and listen to this as often as I can . I try and do everything right , I eat well , avoid certain foods , but sometimes I feel like I’m still processing a lot of trauma on a subconscious level , even with my meditation practice and the healing work I’ve done , my gut health is something I really really struggle with and sometimes it triggers a lot of negative feelings about my body and I get self conscious because I’m bloated all the time

    I absolutely LOVED this guided meditation, thank you. The music, your voice, and the visuals felt so grounding for me. I have been finding it so hard to get to sleep with trauma etc. This has helped. Although the part at the end when you promote your channel and ask me to click like, share, subscribe etc felt invasive and jarring in my hypnotised state and took me out of the deep state suddenly. Otherwise fantastic. Thank you.

      Thank you so much, Kimberley. I understand the self-promotion at the end of the meditations can seem intrusive, but it is how I grew my content enough to be approved for monetization. I receive very little income from my work here as most of it is free, so subscriptions and support are appreciated.
      It took years to grow to where I am now, organically. This is a great online community of people I work with in real life and that I have gathered over the many years of doing this. This is an older meditation recorded while this space was still growing. But, I can happily inform you that my newer meditations are self-promotion free and dive right into the content with free time to acclimate back into the present moment at the end of each meditation.

    I have functional dyspepsia after a bought of food poisoning. Some sort of hypersensitivity of the stomach. To crazy.

    Will this help inflammation? I have a chronic stress response due to a complicated issue I'm trying to heal from, and my poor body is so distressed. Time is the healer, yet trying to help it, but it's taking a toll on so much. Thank you

Vagal work is something anyone can do, diagnosed with or without many dis-eases and health concerns.
