- After an amazing vacation in the Virgin Islands, it's time to head back to Chicago. This is the first leg of my trip back. I was lucky enough to fly on another old livery 757 and even luckier because it was the same 757 I flew coming to STT! The flight was good but very turbulent as there were many storms along the way. Stay tuned for the CLT-ORD trip report coming out soon!

I went on American airlines from Newark to Miami and Miami to punta Cana the ride from Miami to punta Cana was the best landing ever!! There were no sounds of the landing I didn't even realize we were on the ground!
I was on the same route from STT to CLT about 2 years ago. I got to board in the back of the plane too!

very nice AS Aviation! St. Thomas airport is also a very special airport for me, as I flew into it back in 2015 with my family for a vacation. We took the Delta 757-200WL into STT and it was an amazing experience! On the way in, it was an old delta 757 but on the way out, we were treated with a new refurbished delta 757. I think I had anywhere from 4-8 delta cookies on that flight. I also saw an American 737-800 in the old livery parked next to a 757 in the old livery. I am also making a St. Thomas airport, and if it is okay with you, I would like to make airport updates of it. Anyways, really nice trip report.

AS Aviation Great Trip video, I watched your trip vid from my hometown of Houston at IAH-DFW also, unfortunately that MD-83 in that video N7514A as well as this 757 N678AN have been parked in Roswell last couple months, dont know what's their future. Yes, Delta Airlines has reno'd their MD88s with sky lighting and many other amenities. PS, you have me listening to Joakim Karud now, good music :-)
On a flight I was on from SJU-MIA, it was a 777-200ER, and the previous flight had cancelled, but initially the flight was empty but it filled up last minute. We had to make a static takeoff since we were on a really large load on a 777 so the pilots burned the brakes and we returned to the gate. Another backup 777 eventually came to pick us up. Nevertheless, awesome trip report! Loved it!
Wow, that's awesome they sent in a 777 for you guys and the previous flight's pax! Yeah the previous day's flight to CLT had also been cancelled so some people from that flight were on ours but AA didn't send in a bigger plane since STT can't handle planes bigger than a 757.
Old aeroplane. Never been on one. 767s retiring but this oldie still goes.
She's been retired. Just two weeks after I recorded this she was retired. All of the chrome livery 757's are gone. The 767's are not all retiring, only the older ones delivered before 1998 or 2000.
I remember when I was flying to Lihue, Hawaii (Kauai) and they played the new Pirates of the Caribbean... ughhh the memories 😭 (in 2013)(I was 10😭😪)

1998 was the time of the 737ng series which this aircraft still has the 737 classic style interior as it should have the new 737ng style interior
One restaurant huh and cramped seating. No wonder St. Thomas is a 3 star airport
I wish I’d known about the free streaming on my CLT to MAD flight earlier this year, we had seatback screens (a332) but they were awful when it came to touch sensitivity. I was fortunate the seat in front of me was empty because I would’ve probably annoyed the occupant with how hard I had to press the screen to get any response.

The 757 is a great design and all but that just seems like an old neglected airplane. There are older planes including older 757's in better shape, notably Delta's with Sky Interior.
That particular plane got retired the same month. That explains why. Anyway, AA is not really consistant with their in-flight product. The ex-US Airways fleet is a shame.

The 757 is a very useful plane; it just needs a bit of an upgrade so it could be more efficient and fly further

The time I was here, the restaurant was under construction. So there was a booth instead. I ate some lunch there

This 757 (N678AN) has been stored the same month you flew it (07/2017). You probably flew one of it's last flight.
Yes it was stored just two weeks after I flew it. Funny enough one of it's last flights was St. Thomas to Miami.

James Whitlock yeah tell me. That feeling when the brakes released for takeoff must have been insane. Grossly overpowered airplane with much more thrust than necessary except for those short runways or hot/high/heavy flights.
Agree, poor us of grammar and a very nasty surly tone -- not the best way to speak to customers, much less get your point across.
That airport doesn’t have gates
So, some people are upset that AA didn't provide a 7 course gourmet meal for this short flight. Sheesh! I've been on many flights and different airlines that were in the range of two to three hours and never got a meal. If hungry, I ate at the airport. If needed, I used the airport restrooms. Think ahead, folks. Furthermore, some people who respond to the trip reports are absolutely spoiled beyond belief. You have no idea what is was like to fly passenger planes back in the day.
No you didn't, after 9/11 all us carriers stopped offering tray service in main cabin on all flights under 5 hours, how ever, it offers food for sale, I don't know which airline you claim that offers trays service, UNITED ,DELTA, AMERICAN stopped the tray service in main cabin after 9/11.
You get a meal on the ExQatar Doha to Dubai Flight. AA is stingy

VG77 I went for pleasure. I never travel alone, always with family. I just never show them in the videos because they don't want to be shown.

I didn´t know that AA so stingy is. They earn Millions, in Turkish Airlines by 2 hours flight, they offer a small Drink and Snack AND a Major Meal...Lufthansa does this too, Emirates too, Etihad, too...But AA? won´t fly this Company- No Way !!

AS Aviation so it was necessary to show us the thrilling saga of the safety video having a glitch and needing to be replayed? Too many exclamation points as well. AA cant do it anymore with them Besides the negatives that you pointed out which is most of all their flights as their stupid credit card marketing beginning of the flight halfway through the flight and at the end of the flight I am so done with that can’t do it anymore they can kick rocks they’re not getting my money anymore they need to get caught up with the times
