- As American companies like McDonald's and Starbucks close their doors in Russia in protest of the war being waged in Ukraine, Russian troops are reportedly losing morale at a breakneck speed. Supply lines are cut off, equipment is breaking down, and soldiers are said to be going hungry. Some of their rations are apparently unfit to be eaten, and some soldiers have resorted to looting grocery stores. Russian oligarchs are scrambling to sell properties in the U.S. before they can be seized.

Back in 2003 when I was a system administrator for a 500 person mortgage company that’s what I did - all email coming from Russia was worthless or worse; the vast majority of computer viruses come from there, I used to half-joke it’s their primary national export. And nothing of value was ever lost. If I blocked anything else trust me normally I would hear about it very quickly from someone who had some unknown contact. I was quite surprised when I finally blocked an entire country, and never heard a single complaint.

The first powerful sign was when Ukraine reported thousands of Russian soldiers dead to about 400 of their soldiers. Communist countries rely so heavily on relations with other countries for resources it needs to the point where it isn't even funny.

Germany also chose a three pronged attack into Russia which saw them fail to maintain enough momentum on any of them. Russia likewise came from three directions and initially stalled in each, and have only made some progress in the south since.
This is not similar to how Germany lost the war. Germany actually conquered many countries and places before it was defeated. Dont compare great germany to the hellhole that is russia

The expiration dates of Russian "MREs" don't really mean anything. Similarly, the US Army uses its veterinary service to inspect and extend the expiation dates of our MREs, for many years past the original date. Russia does the same.

The Russian military is weak because embezzlement by corrupt Generals, hollowing out by politicians, nepotism and kleptocracy (in general) has devastated their fighting capabilities. Consider how Ukraine is trained, funded and equipped by NATO. The British and Canadian Forces alone have trained somewhere between 10,000 - 20,000 Ukrainian soldiers. So this is the closest that Russia's ever gotten to fighting NATO directly, and it's going abysmal for them. Just the U.S. military would be able to fight them out of Ukraine at the going rate.
