Kent is probably the best swedish band after ABBA. They managed to make music of this very swedish/finnish melancoly. And made it sound like french poetry.

I was living in Norway when the released "music non stop". 5 years later I was living in Finland and saw Vapen og Amunisjon in a store. Even if I only knew one track from them I bought it. And eventually found out that this was probably one the best pop rock album that exists.

Great to see foreign fans. 😊 The lyrics is a bit like a poem. In short: In car with girlfriend. They pass lights, dark houses.. See stars in between the trees.. Pass citys, bridges. He describes her in the car, he travels for her. The nature, weather, contemplates the seasons (4 very different in Sweden). Refrain: "We count the days, We count the years A glimpse of sun A scent of spring. Soon the rain will come as a wave And wash away Everything except the music". (+ french words).
Descriptions of her falling asleep in the car & that he will do anything for her. (french words+) Refrain (above).
For me as a swede this epitomize Sweden's temper pretty well. Cosy, nice, clean cut, crisp cold, nature and a bit of cultural melancholy about the unbearable lightness of being, with definite ending. Darkness and winter a great deal of the year here. But a lot of light(-s) too. (I love it).
Yeah, that's exactly what it's about, you're spot on with the interpretation / translation! Just a little (but not that important) clarification: literally it's "rinses away" not washes away (which would be "tvättar bort"), but yeah, it's not like it would change the overall meaning.
And there could be a little ambiguity when it comes to "somna in": when one uses the particle "in" usually the meaning becomes to "pass away" or to "fall asleep" but in the sense of dying (otherwise the better world to use in the general sense of "falling asleep" would be just "somna", without the particle). So she could have aswell died on that travel (maybe they were travelling to find a doctor or someone to cure her): that hypotesis is strenghtened by the fact that he then says that he suddenly blinks and has tears "he could be without", thus he's crying (either because her sickness made her fall asleep at that moment and he's worried or because she's just died in the car). We can also see a paralyzed / frozen body lying on the ground in the video (even though it's a man, so it might be the guy) and the part sung by the French singer says that she has "lost her bearings and swims in turbid waters" (it's a metaphore obiouvsly)... so it's not like she's safe and happy with her boyfriend, she needs to be saved / healed / rescued somehow.
But we can also guess that's she is not actually dead, because after he blinks and sheds tears, he states once more that he'll do anything for her sake (if she was dead then he could not do anything to bring her back). And the French singer adds that "the landscapes are scrolling, the miss dissipates and thanks to him (her boyfriend which presumably has managed to help her / rescue her) she's breating once again".
So the meaning of the lyrics might be even more deep and sad than it looks at first glance / listen (it's often like that with many Kent songs: when you listen to them many times you discover hidden meanings / multiple interpretations and many subtle literary references... that's why I love them, have all their albums and singles and they motivated me to learn Swedish, first by myself and then at the university and they also made me appreciate and love the Swedish and nordic culture and lifestyle somehow. Yep, their song meant that much to me. I wish one day I'll be able to move there... maybe even in Eskilstuna, the city where the band was formed and Jocke was born 😊). Sorry for the endless reply, I hope I didn't bore you 😅

I believe that, unfortunately, I'm the only Kent fan in Brazil. I've been looking for other admirers like myself for over a decade, but I can't find them. There's a lot of resistance in my country to songs sung in different languages except english. At best, my compatriots accept spanish, which I regret because they fail to appreciate the incredible quality of this band.
I believe that I found one other brazilian that listens to kent, but you're right, it's quite hard to find listeners from the same country, especially one that is not native to the English language. Swedish is not a known language, nor would I imagine people in Brazil knowing that Sweden even exists tbh. no offense or anything, just sweden is not that known of a country from what I've observed
That is a very risky and surely false statement. We live in very egocentric times. I've seen more than a few Brazilian fans in some Kent videos.
