Good technique. I don’t use a floating holder because I prefer to feel the reamer as it’s cutting. Also have switched from Do-Drill to BoLube. The finished chamber cast is measuring more consistently to the reamer. Usually dead on. Years ago a highly skilled machinist told me that if you can hold the hole to within .001” of the reamer you were doing good. I’ve always been within .0005”. I think the BoLube reduces the tendency to work harden the surface. Threading is improved as well. Thanks for sharing.
I think the 300 PRC has a .532 cartridge base dimension. If so it's the same as a belted magnum base dimension which I have chambered many Mausers in. That would make me think it could be opened up to fit a 300 PRC round.
Hey here's one for ya , I'm wondering why they even sell short chambered barrels? If you had a fully chambered barrel & ended up accurizing / truing up the action, you would now need to trim the barrel as you did, creating a short chambered barrel, no ? I suppose if you did the front of the action and front of the bolt lug recess then you wouldn't have to do anything to the barrel just the bolt face, so again, WHY , I'm guessing insurance reasons, diy people now can't chamber a round
Thanks for watching, unfortunately not everything makes it into the video or gets recorded since I'm a bit of a one man show with the production of these video's. When the chamber was shortened the original chamfer was removed and the barrel was reindicated to the chamber not the chamfer. Since my customer already ordered a short-chambered barrel it was not reasonably possible to indicate the chamber end to the bore. The floating reamer head will have to do it's job and allow the reamer to properly follow the bore for the remain .065 that was left to chamber. As to the shop-made Center, just because something is "shop made""it doesn't mean it can't hold tolerance or be quality built. This one was actually made at college 20+ years ago and has served me well ever since. Thanks for watching!

I'll have to try some of that lube. Thanks for sharing as well.
Another good one. Thanks.
You bet
Always enjoy the videos! Been watching this series love it
Thanks, I need all the views I can get :)
Nice job. Who made the barrel?
I honestly can't remember; it was customer supplied
Could a standard mouser 98 bolt face be modified to chamber 300 PRC? I can get a barrel.

You didnt indicate the barrels bore? You used a 60deg shopmade center and indicated off a chamfer angle on the end of the chamber? Thats bad practice
