  • The Madagascar Ground Gecko (Paroedura pictus), also more commonly known as the Pictus Gecko, is one of the best species for novice reptile keepers. They are a small gecko that does great in captivity. Pictus Geckos are very skittish when little, but as they grow, they become quite tame. Once your gecko reaches about 7 grams in size, you can regularly start to handle them. We recommend handling them near the ground so that if your gecko does fall from your hand, it won't seriously injure them. In this video we learn all about these beautiful geckos and learn how to best care for them.

    1. do the eggs need moisture, or is dry warm substrate enough? I understand to seperate male and female after some time, so which one i can put together with the children, because i have a big enclosure than with only one gecko(waste of space) and how long do you seperate them till you bring them together again?

    I have one that I put with a male at 6 months of age and it didn't have a bulk at the start of it's tale, and now like one month after I saw it had a small bulk at the end but I have seen them mate so I'm not sure and it has a small head and body. Can you maybe help? Cause I don't know it's a male or female?

    We need to supliment every feeding? Other suplemenets beside Calcium? Feeding diference after/before 1 yr?

    • @UltimateExoticsReptiles
      @UltimateExoticsReptiles  3 года назад +1

      Supplementation every second or third feeding will be sufficient. We have a calcium/vitamin mix we use, the only difference will be when they are younger you can feed more often then when they older. Older geckos can be fed less frequently in order to avoid them from becoming too fat. Thanks!

      The container they had the three in is smaller than a 10 gallon, so yeah they’d do okay, but I’d always recommend a 20 gallon- they’re terrestrial geckos so they love to roam- and sometimes climb
