im a violinist studying in Moncton NB - exploring the richness of Acadian fiddle music and came across your channel. So proud of the work you have done so far, its really a treasure trove.
Very cool! I'm from the States but my dad's from Moncton. Acadian fiddling in New Brunswick is pretty fascinating. Wish there were more recordings of the old stuff! It's taken us a long time to track down these old traditions!
@ Ofcourse I should have guessed it from your last name! It’s a pleasure to know Devon. I’m new in Moncton and absolutely enthralled by the French Canadian Celtic fiddle tunes. I play the violin myself and I’m learning to adapt to fiddling styles being heavily inspired by the richness and joy in these tunes. It’s a bit of an adjustment from being a classically trained violinist, but it’s a road I always wanted to explore. I learned Joe Crapaud from your video and it was a joy to play for my family. This book you refer to seem very interesting! wonder if I can pick up a hard copy somewhere? Do you have an Instagram? wish we could be connected more. Take care mon Ami!
A fine tune! Thanks for sharing it.
