Got a gold card, (Sarcasm), but mainly it was a high limit, 0% APR and 0% Fee while I was deployed with the USRA . So I payed $0 got a 0% APR card with a highlimit to cover fees while deployed. That was the only reason to get that card for me.

    My first card was Credit One. I had no credit and was told lots of credit inquiries would make it worse. I researched and found Credit One approves anyone. It was between this and a secured card. I heard secured cards didn't build much credit, so I settled on Credit One. After making my payments on time for 11 months, I went to my bank to inquire on a CC. I explained my credit situation and they recommended a secured card, because my chance of approval for their basic real cc was low, but I pushed for the real CC. I was approved to both our surprise, $2000 limit with 12.5%apr.
    I then closed my credit one account before the next anual fee, and have been building credit with my bank cc. Credit One is expensive, but its fast no risk credit. I would do it again.

    Premier was the first credit card I ever had-way back when I really did not know much or care about credit. Years later, I fell for the Credit One card. I filed bankruptcy from medical debt, had the credit one card for 11 months, cancelled it, and it raised my credit score 100 points just from spending $100 a month and paying it off right away. I now have a chase and capital one travel reward cards with no annual fee and a credit score in the 700's all within 3.5 years after filing. They can be helpful if you have no other option like I did.

    • @Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism
      @Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism 5 лет назад +19

      Yes always keep away from that trash. If you have damaged credit just do what you did before and start over. Get a secured card and pay on it. Live inside your means, not borrowing money you don't have cus you know where that gets you. Even poorer! Close those junk cards. Get secured card and live responsibly. In a year or so when your managing money that only you have, then and only then apply for a real CC but this time treat it with great respect and use it the same way as you did with your secured card. If you NEED credit to buy something (with a credit card) your living outside your means. Never do that.

    I actually had #4. It was my very first credit card. I got it at age 18 when I knew absolutely NOTHING about credit cards except that you had to pay the money back. My meager 500 dollar credit limit was quickly ran up and over. My credit went to shit very early in life. I somehow managed to pay it and cancel the credit card. I’m 34 now with excellent credit and ALWAYS remember that Premiere Gold card when thinking about opening any new line of credit. The best thing about the card was that it allowed me to learn the wrong thing early so that I had time to fix it. I survived one of the cards on this list and lived to tell about it 😂😂😂

      Credit one's not that bad as long as the terms and conditions are good a lot of their cards don't have fees they have horrible cards and they have somewhat decent cards you have to read the fine print on every individual card if you have middle-of-the-road credit or good credit but not that much time on the bureau's there is one or two Credit One credit cards that are not that bad I bet most people don't know this but Capital One owns Credit One it's their subprime division you can have a 750 credit score and still be subprime if you only have a year-and-a-half on the bureau and if you only have a couple credit cards like Capital One and they refuse to increase your credit limit over five hundred bucks then you have to do something in the meantime while you're stuck in the upside down

      I always ignore mail offers, because, yeah, my credit is good. So why would I want to ding it with a hard inquiry from a no-name company and unsolicited junk mail? I open credit cards with companies I've established trust with, because I know that if I ask, they might do a soft inquiry or no inquiry at all (depends on a lot of factors, like whether it's just an upgrade, a credit line increase, and internal policies the rep has to abide by).

    I had a bad history with poor credit. CreditOne was the only company that was willing to take a chance on me. I knew I was going to get destroyed by fees and high interest rates. I accepted that because I was starting my credit rebuilding journey, and what a journey it has been. I would never advise anyone with 700+ credit to go for this card. However, if you were like me and wanted somewhere to start building your credit so that you could move on to better cards down the line, then this was a great option in all honesty. I still have the card today, and am thankful that they took a shot on me. Moral of the story is just pay your bills in full on time and manage your money correctly, but I didn't learn this lesson early enough in life. Love the videos by the way.

      @@freerunnersunion_________90 It only hurts you if the age of the account is years old (i.e. more than a year to a year and a half old) and your credit to debt ratio. But if it was me that had one (not that I would in the first place), and can get an unsecured no annual fee card with a good credit limit within say the first year, I'd close the account to get rid of the fee's even if it meant taking a couple point hit on my score. Got the first premier platinum and I’ve come to realize they set the bar high on fees to teach responsibility for those trying to fix their credit and not ball out with it. Most people don’t realize that you should keep a $0 balance every month and spend 30% and under. But that’s my point of view. The 36% interest doesn’t scare me because I don’t flex with my cards and keep my balance under $100 therefore they’re easy to pay off

    I had no credit in my late 20's due to avoiding cards in my youth and using cash exclusively. Naturally I had no real debt other than a car payment. Upon looking at purchasing a home I realized avoiding credit was a double edged sword. I began with a Credit One card quite simply because I didn't know any better and it was easy... I qualified. I used the card minimally and paid the balance of in full monthly. After approx 12 months and a few other basic steps I was approved and purchased my home. So as bad as the card is it can be useful if you're responsible. In retrospect had I done a little research I probably wouldn't have applied for that specific card. Nonetheless it helped me.

    It's amazing the things you can get away with if you simply get someone to sign a contract. There is the assumption that you can't be taken advantage of if you agreed to it. That's simply not true.
    No one in their right mind would get the first 4 cards (the last one someone might get just because it's shiny). The only way they get someone to sign an objectively bad contract is through manipulation, which I would consider against the notion of a person's freedom to contract. A false 'you' is signing the contract - the 'you' that has been deceived or manipulated into a false state of mind about reality. This is no different from a person with schizophrenia signing a contract ethically speaking.

I could not look at my wife or my eight year old in the eye anymore. I really messed up. I was at the bar drinking my sorrows away when I started speaking to the bartender he gave me a contact and urged me to speak with a team of specialist who helped him in the past. I contacted them and spoke with them. They cleared all the negatives off my report and raised my score to a 780 in 24days. I was able to take out some loan and save my home and family. Much obliged to give thanks by appreciating Samhackstechnology⏺net. You might be facing a similar issue or worse. I suggest you contact them too and get your burden of bad credit off your chest. Thanks again

    This is why I love RUclips. I hope these credit card issuers are watching this video and realizing what they've done is bad and need to do better. Thank you.

    I have 2 credit cards and I’m going crazy, none of those 5 but still a lot in interest. 🤦🏾‍♀️

      Don't live outside your means. Only buy with the card what you can pay off as soon as the payment clears and pay it off before it even goes to statement. At the most, you only want to let it all go to statement but pay it all off in full. You'll pay no interest. You want to do things that pay you interest. Never pay interest.
