    Congratulations on getting all that work done! Onancock is one of our favorite places to visit. It doesn't get as many visitors as the more popular destinations on the west side of the Bay. I bet you slept well in that calm anchorage. When you come back on your way around the loop next season, be sure to leave plenty of time to explore the Chesapeake. There are so many interesting places to visit. The marinas start opening for services in late March and early April. It's still a little cool up here at that time, but there aren't many boats on the water and the popular places aren't crowded yet.

      Awesome! Thanks for the tips Robert! That is actually our plan heading north... we will be heading north in February which hopefully puts us in the Chesapeake around your time frame. Onancock was exactly the type of town we would love to see more of... Thanks!

      I totally agree. Some loopers take a year for the Chesapeake and then haul out for the winter. It's not a bad approach!

    Your videos are getting remarkably better. I even got a whiff of cinematography similar to Sailing Uma. Any idea whereabouts in FL you're headed? I grew up on the Manatee River and Tampa Bay back in the '80's and on a completely selfish note, if you do head over to the Gulf Coast, it'd be awesome to see my old stomping grounds. Especially being stuck in UT right now and in the process of making moves to head back east and do what you guys are doing.
    Keep up the great work!

    • @SchoandJo
      @SchoandJo  2 года назад

      Thanks so much for the compliment! We are big Uma fans but we know there's a long way to go 😁 We are heading down to the keys (currently held up in Vero Beach). We will be heading to the gulf coast but not till the tail end of our Loop next year - so probably November / December time frame. We actually were just in St. Pete for a day this holidays as we have some family there. Cheers!

    Leaning to the port side

    • @SchoandJo
      @SchoandJo  2 года назад +1

      Yep, Pivot has a slight list to port. Basically our water and sewage tanks are not completely balanced. It’s worst when we leave a dock with full water though, it evens out in a few days after we only use water from the port tanks 😁

    • @SchoandJo
      @SchoandJo  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for noticing and letting us know 😁

  • @COPPER71
    @COPPER71 11 месяцев назад

    Does Pivot list to port.. maybe more weight on that side?

    • @SchoandJo
      @SchoandJo  11 месяцев назад +1

      It does a little bit, it’s because of the imbalance of water tanks and holding tanks 😬 it’s always the worst leaving a marina with full water and empty sewage, but it evens out quickly

  • @dannyvz2738
    @dannyvz2738 2 года назад

    Was it the camera angle riding Fred on your approach back to Pivot, or is Pivot listing to the port side (18:20ish mark)? Unbalanced loading can lead to disaster, especially if you hit unexpected weather while underway. Just want you two to be careful and have the safest cruising possible. I know this isn’t real time, but a concern none the less…..

    • @SchoandJo
      @SchoandJo  2 года назад +1

      Great eye Danny... Yes we have about a 4 degree list to port - we've been trying to deal with it but it seems like it would require some major changes. Fortunately it is at its worst when we have full water tanks and empty holding tanks (the case in this video) and it very quickly evens out after a day or two. Thanks for the concern!

      This was 11/17! So about 1 month ago… wasn’t warm but not snowing! Ollie is doing much better, the vet (from last episode) just told us to feed her right before bed and it’s been working! Happy holidays!

    In 30° weather, what do you use for heat, while at anchor? Or dockside?

    • @SchoandJo
      @SchoandJo  2 года назад

      When we are dockside, we can run our AC which has a heat pump as well as we have an electric heater. At anchor we wear lots of clothes and blankets and it has been fine so far 😁
