    Amazing video!!! I love the way how you conducted yourself as a educated young lady and you spoke with enthusiasm that never wanes. Unfortunately, not many young people speak the way you do and separates you from everyone else. Keep on being the best leader the air force has and God bless you and your family!☺☺

    So, I just commissioned from FSU, and I will be stationed in Altus,Ok as a force Support Officer. I am also a young African American woman and watching this video really inspired me. I have a lot of fears and worries about being a black female in the AF, and this video really spoke volumes to me and it’s pushing me to anticipate my Leave date. Thank you for this video and maybe I’ll cross paths with you into the big blue.

    Recently stumbled across your cruise video of the carnival magic because we are getting ready to sail on it and just had to subscribe. I just want to say congratulations on all your success but more specifically congratulations on being a black, female officer in the Air Force. My husband was sitting with me as I watched this video and we both think that you sound like a very great leader and definitely keep up your hard work. My husband will be hitting his 9 year mark and pinning on Major. I love how you said that you want to stay true to you. You gained a new subscriber and I look forward to seeing more updates. #blackgirlmagic

    I wish there were a base in Billings MT just because there are a lot more stores it would be a lot easer to go to a hobby lobby or a Walmart and it is a little bit more diverse than Great Falls, but it is still a really small town (Montana as a whole is really small population wise compared to all the land we have) hope your still liking Montana tho 😁

    Enjoyed your video. You need to keep looking for your church family. Being far away from your family and being a officer can be lonely. Remember, no family is perfect so just get in there and get involved with a church community. You need them and they need you. Will be praying for you. 🙏🏻 God bless

    So happy for you Soror!!!! And proud of you, moving away from what you are use to is not easy. I definitely commend you and my sister for doing that on your own! I can totally relate to the pros and cons of a small town. We lived in Ottumwa, IA for a little over 2 years. There were no good restaurants so that definitely challenged me to step my cooking game up, they had a Target, but closed it 6 months before we moved (I knew when that happened we would be moving soon, because God knows that I need my Target lol), and we also never found a church home and the diversity lacked. It was tough, but I'm thankful for the experience.

    This was a great video. Thank you for all the information you have given thus far. I would like your opinion in regards to applying as an MSC Officer. I would first like to acknowledge the fact that there is not a whole lot of information on the web and even a lack of youtube videos on becoming an MSC Officer. It seems like not too many people apply for this position. Do you think because this field is small in the Air Force that many of the applicants who apply get accepted?

    • @VeronicaLuke
      @VeronicaLuke  6 лет назад

      It is small but growing field and it is tough to get in but very doable!! I will try to make more videos on being an MSC :)

    Lt, like this video. It reminds me of when I did over 6 years at Grand Forks AFB ND and over 2 years at Ellsworth AFB SD. Yes, back then diversity was low. I think it is a little better now since, the military have more diversity these days. My assignments was S Korea,, Japan, Philippines, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia. TDY at For Dix NJ and the above mention other states and of course Lackland. I really enjoyed my career as a Security Police. Now I am a father and grand father with 2 sons in the military, US Marines and US Army. Love when young people serve at 4 years of military.

    OH MY GOSH I FOUND AN MSC!!!! Lol you are a hard bunch to locate! Had a question for you ma'am, I'm currently enlisted, finishing up my masters and looking at my options. My undergrad is a BA in business information systems, grad is going to be a MS in human factors system engineering. I had my undergrad evaluated a few years ago for MSC, but it was either close to qualifying or did qualify at all. My question(s) is (are) how do you get into MSC and do you have any information about the application process? Thank you in advance.

    Hi Veronica, I am planning on applying and had a few questions if you could help me:is the career field and HSA course math heavy? Should I read the OTS guide before I go to COT? Any questions I should prepare for in the interview? What kinds of briefings do MSCs give? How long are they on average? Is an average GRE score going to hurt my package?
    Thanks in advance!

    It's nice to be in a position where your superiors give you assignments but they can't fire you for not knowing what you are doing. In the civilian world they just fire you. Then you are stuck with a bunch of bills you can't pay and you lose everything you have.

    Federalpay declares 2nd Lt pay at $3000-$3800/mo---let's say $20/hr. Is this not accurate? For the responsibility and education required, the pay appears terrible. Emotional preferences aside, the only incentive I see is the pension, which is being phased out as a benefit across corporations. You seemed to convey the income was nice. Why is it nice? You could make near double as a civilian, right now.

    • @marksofmanhood
      @marksofmanhood 5 лет назад +1

      You have to keep in mind that, as an officer, you are not paying rent. You receive BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing) that typically covers the average rent for the area that you are stationed at. You also receive free medical for you and your spouse if you are married, including children. With these in mind you are looking at 70-80k per year. As I am looking at being a chaplain in the Navy I start as O2 and after a year automatically promote to O3. It's not for everyone though.
      God bless,
      Matt
